Chapter Forty-Two

VERITAS' ANGUISH

Physicor was currently in a desperate situation against Pactione, an enemy that was unknown to him. He was currently missing his only ability, Muscle's Gain, and it seemed that the enemy had somehow stolen it.

'The guards, they're all dead.'

As if to fully demonstrate that he had fully stolen and taken over the power that once belonged to Physicor, Pactione punched in the direction of the guards and caused their heads to explode.

"Alright, Physicone, let's jam!"

Physicor was angered by the fact that he was being, not only disrespected, but to the point of having his name pronounced incorrectly.

'What to do, what to do.'

Physicor was standing two meters away from Pactione, who was laughing like a maniac at the moment. Physicor could sense the insanity that lay within the enemy, but he didn't have the strength to confront it as of right now.

Physicor understood that he had no chance of winning right now. The only way to make it out of this successfully was to run. As much as he hated to admit it, the most successful thing that he could do right now is make it out with his life.

'But even that's impossible.'

The muscle that Pactione was containing within himself as of right now was enough to make it so that Physicor could end up just like the guards in less then a second. Beyond that, he also couldn't hope to outrun Pactione, especially without his ability.

He made a decision.

"I'm at your mercy."

Physicor put his hands behind his head and his knees hit the ground. After that, while his hands were still behind his head, he hit the ground with his forehead.

"Please, spare me."

He couldn't compete. If it was just a first stage granted ability, Physicor believed that he would have been able to somehow win. But, unfortunately for him, his awakened ability was at its first stage, and was fully activated.

'This is the best option.'

Physicor didn't even raise his eyes to look, as to further convince Pactione that he had given up, so there was no way that he would be able to see Pactione with his foot in the air,

PSHH

Ready to stomp his head into the ground.

Pactione's foot was covered in ooze and blood, but he didn't mind it. He did, however, mind something else.

"What the fuck? What's the point of having all of these abilities and skills if you're not gonna use them? An insect that crawls on the ground should die."

As he said this, he rubbed his foot on the rest of the carcass of Physicor.

"Damned weakling, stay down."

BA-DUSH

Right after kicking the remains through the building to the right, Pactione quickly deflated and returned to his normal form, as if he had never contained all of those muscles within himself.

TCH

He clicked his tongue in disappointment.

"Where do I go to get a decent fight?"

Pactione and Veritas shared mind frequencies, meaning that they could see and hear everything on each other's side. For that reason, he could see that Dionysus had just burst into the large, large main chamber of the castle.

'Laaaaaaaaammmmeeeeeee, Veritas better finish this in less than ten seconds.'

Pactione prepared himself mentally for when Veritas was going to flip the switch, which was bound to be soon.

Unknown to anyone besides Pactione and Veritas, the switch was somewhat multi-layered. The first flip would cause him to disappear visual and audio-wise. The second one was the one that completely erased his presence.

However, due to Pactione's insanely illogical brain composition, he was able to bypass it all and still see, hear, and sense Veritas. It was as if his brain was beyond that of the current universe.

"WOAH!"

He had been witness to Dionysus easily noticing Veritas and punching him with the back of his fist. With the way it was thrown, it resembled a back-hand slap of sorts.

'That's rad! Veritas'll have to share!'

Pactione jumped and clicked his two feet on each other. For a rather imposing man such as himself, it looked like an extremely silly scene to see a man that clearly had tattoos of roses and tigers under a white jacket to do such a thing.

From there, he began skipping his way to the floating castle at the center of the city.

"Let's see what we find!"

Dang, I've gotten real lazy recently huh. I'll have to try and pick up my slack.

It's just like they say, the harshest criticist is yourself. You'll always crap on yourself, I swear.

Or maybe it's just in my case? It's something, who knows. I sure don't.
