The Tour (Part 2)

The next stop that Zeke and Dirk decided to visit next is a place called the Magic Shop.

The Magic Shop is near the entrance to the town. The building itself has a unique architectural style. Its roof is shaped like a cone that is made of red colored bricks which reminds Zeke of a video game he once played as a child, the multiple bizarre lights outside looks as if they were floating and changes its color every now and then. The shop has a huge sign that looks like a wizard hat and a magic wand. The both of you entered the shop.

"Oohhhh customers" a chirpy voice said, "come in, come in."

Zeke looked towards the source of the voice, the lumen look like a bird-type, a yellow canary, they are wearing robes and a wizard hat that befits the mood of their shop. The lumen also has an eager glint on their eyes.

"How can I help you boys" they asked.

"Um.. hi there, I am Dirk and this is Zeke we're just doing a tour around the town to help familiarize our farmer about the major establishments here."

"I will say, this shop is quite interesting, I really didn't have any reason as well due to my inaptitude with anything magical related, so that's why I've never been here," Dirk said as he surveys the place.

"Oh! so you're the new farmer. Nice to finally meet you!" they say cheerfully clapping their hands together, "I was just dusting off my shop to prepare for the advent of the new farmer and yet here you are" they giggled in delight. "I am Aelessa the owner of this humble, and totally weird shop."

"Nice to meet you Aelessa, So um what is this place for? What services can you offer to us?" Dirk asks.

"Thank you for asking! It's been a while since somebody asked me that question you see. I get customers from time to time but they really just go in and out of here without any word, so it can get pretty boring but now with the new farmer, I can tell that things are going to get really exciting!"

"So, as you can probably tell from my shop name, the intention of my shop is to assist anyone with their everyday needs, maybe the better term is to enhance. Enhance their lifestyle and lessen their worries, and burden through the way of magic."

Zeke never really paid any attention about the magical side of this world, ever since he arrived in this world. All the major information and obligations that was dumped into him pretty much prevented him from doing so.

"I've read from the manuscripts of my ancient predecessors that the legendary farmers of Loneharv, including you," they pointed at Zeke with their index finger, "can wield magic, so even if you don't initially know how to use magic, there is a latent potential sleeping inside your body"

This information surprises Zeke and Dirk. They both looked at each other, mouth agape and eyes wide open, then they turned their heads back towards Aelessa, and continued to listen.

"I can enhance potions for you, but I can't brew them because that is the job of Hugo, the item shopkeeper and we respect each of our own crafts, although you can ask him to teach you so you could brew them on your own."

"I can also enchant armors and weapons for a price, to help you on your explorations, but I don't have all the materials required to do such a thing so you're going to have to bring me some."

"You can also trade some primordial artifacts from the dungeon and I can help you dispel the curses that comes along with it if needed."

"But that is not all, I can also teach you how to wield magic, again with the right price of course. Although my arsenal of spells are very limited to only healing magic due to the situation of the town being at peacetime for hundred years, so you will need tomes of magic which you can find inside the dungeon. Of course you can also teach yourself, but the benefits of having a scholar of magic tutor you will double the effort and obviously hasten the process, so keep that in mind."

"In any case, I think that's everything you boys need to know about my little shop!" she says as she clasp both of her hands.

"Thank you for you time, Aelessa" Dirk says earnestly, " but we should probably get going before it gets dark."

"Sure, sure off you go now boys!" they replied while waving goodbye.

"Hmm, so I see that you can do magic as well boss, but I do wonder how we can wake up that latent magical ability in you," he said as he continue walking.

"I wonder indeed" Zeke replied thoughtfully, "anyways, no use thinking about it right now, we still have a few more stops to make right?"

"Oh! yes." Dirk replies then looks at the list to go to the next place.

They both left the shop and started walking towards their next stop, which is the Farmer's Guild.

When they arrived outside of the farmer's guild the place is bustling with all sorts of lumen coming in and out of the place. The huge establishment is made of wood and concrete with a big sign on top that shows a picture of a tilling hoe and a sword crossed with each other.

"Here we are at the farmer's guild, it is a guild that is owned by the Mayor built specifically for you, the farmer of legend. The guild has been here for a long time and has been renovated multiple times already across millennia. It's sole purpose is to obtain official requests directly from the townspeople for us to take on and fulfill if we have the time to do so. The guild members' job is to haul the treasures and spoils that we find after doing an expedition inside the huge dungeon," Dirk explained in detail.

"Oh right! let's go inside before I end up explaining all the information about the guild before the Guild Master does" he laughed.

The inside of the guild looks even busier, everybody looks like they are preparing for something, or rather someone from the looks of things.

"Hey! look at that it's Dirk and he's with the farmer!" someone from the crowd screams.

After that outburst, almost everyone from the guild hurriedly stopped what they're doing and crowded both Zeke and Dirk. Some looking at Zeke with fascination, some with pride and even some with genuine amazement in their eyes. The simple looks and fascination immediately turned to grabbing and holding.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa everyone calm down!" Dirk said as he tried to block the guild members away from Zeke.

"Order!" a booming voice reverberates throughout the entire guild.

Everyone, including Dirk stood still and became fully alert.

"Does every single one of you not know proper decorum, any decency?!" the booming voice continued to say, "it's the first time in a hundred years that a master farmer comes into our guild and you show them this despicable behavior? Go back to your stations!"

"At once, guild master," everyone replied back in unison as they filed out in a orderly manner. As everyone clears out a man that looks like a bear walks towards Zeke and Dirk.

"I apologize for that shameful commotion," he started, "it is an honor to finally have the opportunity to bask in your hallowed presence, holder of the homestead and the fabled farmer of legend." He then bows with utmost reverence." I am Godfrey Heavenstill, the guild master of this humble guild.

Zeke finally got a better look of the man. He's wearing an armor, a cuirass with a long flowing cape attached behind his broad shoulders that goes all the way to the floor. He also has a short sword sheathed on his left hip. His eyes has the furious color of crimson a great contrast to his relaxed expression while still maintaining a perpetual frown.

"Sir, I brought the farmer here for the mandatory tour that was assigned to us by the Mayor," Dirk said formally stiff with utmost discipline, "the Mayor wants for you to explain the nature of our guild here, sir."

"Very well, walk with me while we talk" he gestured for the both of them to follow him.

"The farmer's guild has been established since the olden age. It's ownership has always been inherited from Mayor to Mayor and is always the responsibility of the ancient line of my family, the Heavenstills, akin to the ancient lineage of the Weapon and Armor shop. But, unlike that shop this responsibility is given to each heir of my family from the moment they are born unto this world. rejecting this honorable duty is a sacrilege and will force the whole family to denounce the said heir and banish them completely." Zeke could see a dark expression on his face as he tells this which immediately vanished as soon as he took notice of it.

"As I was saying, this guild is the cornerstone of everyone's communication in the whole town. We accept requests and quests from townspeople or anyone in town and formally post it on that bulletin board that everyone can see beside the reception of the guild."

"In fact, guild members are also able to take on some quests on their own as long as the floor of said dungeon is clear of monsters and thoroughly explored by you and your farmhands. You also need to announce a decree to officially authorize the guild on exploring a safe floor."

"You may be thinking, how can people not know what the inside of the dungeon looks like if guild members can explore inside. Well, it is only because of the fact that the dungeon has an effect that once you leave the place everyone except the farmer and his farmhands will forget anything that happened inside of it. They can only retain the memory of acquiring the requested item from the dungeon and that's it."

"The other useful service of this guild is that you may hire several guild members to tend to your farm while you go dungeon diving for a long time or if you want to explore the dungeon for a whole day."
