The Tour (Part 1)

"Okay, boss before we set out for the town where would you like to go first?" Dirk asked, "the Mayor made a list for the places that we are required to go first, then we can visit other areas after."

He handed the list of the places to Zeke.

"Let's go to this 'Item Shop' first" Zeke replied.

"Alright, follow me."

The item shop was not far from the town hall. It was just a few walks away from the right hand side of the head office. The building has a sign on top of the door that has a drawing of scroll and quill on it. "Here we are!" Dirk said while standing in front of the door of the establishment, holding the doorknob. "This is the place where you buy items that we need to bring with is while exploring the dungeons."

"Stuff like potions, remedies, and antidotes, those kinds of things, let's go inside and introduce you to the shopkeeper" he opens the door then walked in.

"Good morning, Dirk how may I help you? Oh, I see you brought a friend, hello there lad." the shopkeeper smile and wave at you. The man who's tending the shop seems to be an otter-like lumen. He has a few whiskers beside his cheek and his eyes well, you can't see them because they are both closed. The atmosphere that surrounds him is almost akin to the Mayor's, but the way he talks is reminds you of a calm meadow.

"Hello there good sir, I am Zeke the next farmer of the homestead" Zeke introduced himself.

"Greetings Mr. Hugo, this man right here will be next successor of the homestead and he will be needing a lot of items, from your shop so you'll be seeing him, and myself frequently in the foreseeable future. Would you kindly explain to him in detail, the function of your shop."

"Ah wonderful, we finally have a farmer," he said with quiet delight while looking at Zeke, "my shop will contain all you need in terms of your everyday needs, I sell all sorts of items, from potions to tools and even seeds. But, as you can tell since very recently, our supplies of those are out commission, so for now, I would like for you to trade me seeds, sprouts or even fruits that you can find in the dungeon and of course, I will be paying you handsomely." he explained.

"That's right," Dirk agrees, "bringing potions, and food supplies with us when explore the dungeon will be essential, especially when we do a whole day exploration."

"Okay, mister shopkeeper we'll be leaving we still need to visit a few more establishments before we head onto the farm."

"Oh alright, but before you go I have something to give to him." Hugo went into the back room of his shop and started rummaging something then came back holding some sort of backpack, "this is a rucksack, it is the most essential thing a farmer could ever have. It is also imbued with magic so you can put anything in it even huge objects like tools for example, it has an endless capacity as well so anything you put in it will automatically be stored somewhere in the magical realm which resides inside of it. Oh and this is the most important thing, when you need to take out something, you just need to think about the name of the item you stored while reaching inside and the rucksack will sort everything and give you the item that you needed then place it on your hand as you take it out, so please remember everything that you stow in it."

Zeke took the magical rucksack and put it to familiarize himself with the item. It has an earthy color and is very light to carry. Somehow it feels as if the rucksack finally made him a bona fide farmer.

Zeke, and Dirk said their goodbyes, thanked the shopkeeper then left his store.

"Well, where shall we go next boss?" Dirk asked as soon as they left the shop.

"Here," Zeke points out the word that says Weapon and Armor Shop in the list that Dirk gave him.

"Alright, let's go." And with that, they started to walk.

Dirk said that the weapon shop have only recently reopened because it isn't really needed for the time of peace, which is to say all the time. It only ever opens whenever a farmer from the human world is summoned to Loneharv. It is also because once the dungeon of Tenebrae emerge, so are the impending threat of the monsters that are lurking inside of it. The town needs to be prepared for anything in case any monsters from it manage to escape the confines of the dungeon. Dirk also said that the demand for arms are high because of the recent surge of guards needed for the town which is why the Mayor's hands are full at the moment.

The weapon and armor shop is standing proudly across the Mayor's town hall. It has displays of armors outside the shop and the sign on top of its double-doors has a sword icon drawn on it.

When they both got inside, assortments of different type of weapons and armors are being showcased in their display cases. Zeke and Dirk are slowly browsing the selection when a woman suddenly came in from the back door. She looks like a tiger-type Lumen. She's wearing an apron over her garments and has a distinct air of experience and grit from the way she moves.

"Hey lads! come over here by the counter" she beckons them both "I assume you both are the ones from the homestead?"

"Yes that is right, miss..?"

"You may just call me Yggdra dear, my husband and I are just finishing prepping up the store, we can finally start the business again from tomorrow." she says happily. "Oh, pardon me, I am forgetting myself once again, can you please tell me your names dears?"

"Hello Yggdra, I'm Dirk and this is Zeke the new farmer in town," Dirk started, "we are currently doing a tour for him around the town and introduce him to the establishments vital for our day to day work."

"Other than that, this is also my first time seeing the inside of this store and I was so excited that it finally opened!"

Zeke can see Dirk's tail wagging in excitement, and his cerulean blue eyes almost look like they're shining, "it has been my dream to become one of the farmhands of the homestead you see, ever since I was a pup I would fantasize myself fighting alongside the farmer donning armors and wielding mighty weapons to fend off the monsters!" With all his excitement, Dirk forgot what we initially came here to do, though he quickly noticed and regained his composure. It seems your furry friend is a fan of weaponry.

"A-ahem, sorry for that little outburst hehe," the fur on his face is slowly turning beet red, "A-anyways! would you kindly explain to us the functionality of your shop madam?"

"It is quite alright my dear," Yggdra giggles, "and of course, gladly."

"This weapon and armor shop has been standing here way before my grandad was even born, it has one and only one purpose, to serve and assist the farmer of legend on his battles against the monsters that are residing inside the changing transforming, "Tenebrae"."

"My grandad, always used tell me stories about the amazing expeditions of the legendary farmer in his time, how the farmer would always bring back some amazing pieces of weapons and legendary armors from his dungeon exploring, and my grandad would strengthen it for him. You see my dad was still young when my grandad was running the shop for the last farmer, now he is at the age where he can't inherit that responsibility from my grandad, so that's why I am here now."

"We originate from the ancient line of blacksmiths that will help outfit the farmer, forge weaponry, and even offer the possibility of upgrading those services. You can also trade or sell all the unnecessary loot and drops of the monsters which you can get from the dungeon, so we can then trade them to the local townspeople" she explained further.

"Oh and last and the most important part we also sell various farm tools, we can't forget about them, from hoe to pickax we've got you covered. You can also upgrade them to make your time in the farm efficient and as always just bring us the materials needed and it's done"

"Oh and before I forget the Mayor already sent the requisitions papers for those equipment for you and the entirety of your group. I would love to give it to you now for you to test them, but as you can see we're still in the process of finishing up the shop so we will just have to send it to your farm on the morrow. Anyways, that's everything you need to know," she finally finishes without missing a beat.

"Thank you, Yggdra that was very helpful" Dirk replied, closely making notes about every word that she said and then finally looked at the time.

"I would've liked to stay and learn more, but we need to continue our tour now"

"Alright, next time then dears," she replied, "good luck on your farming and dungeon diving!"
