192:You Dont Remember!

Mike found Vicky seated in the car, he had gone to call some authority from New York and alerted his lawyer to come and help get Davids out of the situation. He couldn't bring himself to speak to her, Brian had told her what inspired between Vicky and her daughter when they went to check on Davids. Mike felt responsible for everything that was happening in the family. The fact that he didn't tell the whole family about the issue is still eating her up. 

Brown had called to confirm whether the allegations were true but Mike didn't have anything to tell him, right now his security is calling every second because Brown doesn't want to be on the island anymore he wants to come and seat next to his daughter who has been wronged.

"Brown, listen to me, I have not gotten to the bottom of the issue, My daughter escaped from home after she found out that you were alive, apparently your daughter is accusing you of ruining her life, the best you can do is hold yourself and watch the news update, what good will it do if you come here? The Clank's will still kill you and the opportunity you have to set the record straight will be gone, please bear with me," begged Mike. 

He picked up his coat and walked in with Andrew and Davids lawyer, the moment his eyes settled on Davids, he almost cried, but he decided to restrain his tears. Davids didn't stand from where she was seated, she looked at her father, tears welling up on her face, as her eyes were closed, she didn't want to hear what her dad was going to say, her mother might have convinced him to leave her to learn her lesson in prison the way they did to them when they got drunk with Brian.

"Sweetheart," she heard her father's voice, there was no anger in those words but calmness flowed in them. 

"Dad," she looked and walked to him, the guard opened the door for her and her dad hugged her tightly. 

"I am sorry dad, I am sorry," she cried on her father's chest.

"Everything will be okay," said her father, "Mr Chen is here and he will listen to you, explain to her everything that happened and you will be free from here."

Davids looked at her father, she knew this was going to be a big disappointment, she doesn't remember what happened. whether she raped Daniella or not, she doesn't know, all she knew was that she slept in the school storage room. 

They were taken to the interrogation room, Andrew and the other guards were stationed outside the room to make sure that no one was roaming around the area, they first had to do a sweep of the room to make sure that there were no devices secretly placed in the room to spy on them. 

"Good evening Davids, I am Mr Chen, your lawyer, I would like you to tell me everything that happened, from the day you escaped from home until the graduation day before you were arrested," said Mr Chen.

Davids looked at him, the only time she has seen the lawyers was when she signed a deal for a business and signs were supposed to be given, looking at him right now, he didn't know what to tell him.

"Sweetheart, it's your turn," her father startled her and he cleared her voice.

"I can't remember anything."

"What do you mean you can't remember anything!' Shouted her father as he banged the table in frustration. 

" I am sorry dad, I don't remember, all I remember was walking from home, beating two security guards and the rest of the days I spent sleeping in the school storeroom, you can even access the cameras, I have been there all along, the guard can attest that," said Davids in a weak voice. 

Mike had lost his cool, he thought that nicely talking to Davids was going to make things easy and she will confess everything so that she doesn't get to be jailed. Looking at her daughter, he felt disappointed that she didn't want to tell him anything that happened during the three days she was gone from home.

"Try your best Davids, the only way you are going to survive this is by saying the truth, or else you are going to be jailed for life!" Warned Mr Chen.

Davids was scared, she had only been in the cell for five hours but she feels like, this is not where he wants to be, she didn't want to be in the area, things were not good for her. When they were brought in when they were teenagers, that was a New York prison, Brian managed to lure the guard into buying them some snacks and pay him off with a blow job which never happened because after being in the cell for six hours, their dad came to pick them up. She didn't want to be in there, it was scary.

"Dad, I don't want to be here, I didn't even touch Daniella, we were on a break, that's what she said, you can even look at my phone dad," cried Davids. 

"That's not how people are looking at it, many people have come out to complain about your behaviour, You remember Didi, the girl who claimed that you touched her, she has reopened the case and the media is saying g how we used our richness, closed the case and deleted the footage of the camera," added her dad. 

Davids didn't know what to explain to him, she was sure things were going to pop up and even the people she didn't know were going to come forward and say how she used her father's wealth to take advantage of them.

"Dad," she called out, "do you believe I did this, I assaulted Daniella sexually and the people who came forwards to claim I touched them, do you think I touched any of them?"

Mike sighed and looked at her, he was sure her daughter didn't do anything but he didn't know how to protect her, from the media and from The Clanks who want to destroy her life, "it's not what I believe it's what other people believe you did, I may want to support you but what do they want?"

"We will bail you but your court session starts tomorrow, we don't have any witnesses, any people who are going to support you, unless you know of any people you want to help you, name them, then we will help you out," said Mr Chen as he closed his brown leather bag and walked out of the room. 

Even though the news was supposed to make Davids happy, she was not happy, her mind was racing up and down, she didn't know who will help her at the stand, who is going to be her witness? The only person who saw her get into the school storeroom was the watchman, he agreed because he knew her, maybe that will be her first witness. 

Davids was handed back her shoes, that is the only thing she was having, the clothes were not taken. 

Walking out of the police station, the crowd outside started rushing towards them, the news reporters were flashing their cameras at her face, blinding her vision. 

People were calling her names with signs written, "you are a rapist, you are a rapist, jail the rapist, jail the rapist."

Eggs were thrown at her and they landed on her gown, some on her locks while some stains plastered themselves on her face. 

This was a nightmare that Davids had not dreamt of, she felt like this was a movie and she was the main character, the villain and the people throwing the stones felt like heroes because they wanted justice. 

"Why are they leaving a rapist to walk free, do they want her to rape other girls? This is not fair," shouted an audience that no one knew about. 

Their vehicle was parked behind the police station making it hard for them to reach there, Davids felt like her legs were giving in on her and she might faint at any time, but the determination in her made her walk quickly forward until they arrived at the vehicle.

"Are you happy?  Are you happy that we are being branded as rapists? You better correct this because you are not going to drag us down with you!" Shouted her mother before walking out of the place. Mike ran following her, he understood the pain that Vicky was going through, though they know their daughter didn't do that, the fact that the videos all over are displaying some images of her and Davids made her the main suspect. 

"Easy you don't need to shout at her like that, everything will be fine babe," said Mike as he tried to calm Vicky down.

"Do you know what I fear, the fact that she is eighteen and will be convicted as an adult, no one wants us here after this, Annie is saying that reporters have flooded our compound waiting for her. Will she survive this if she is not talking?" 

Mike shook his head, Davids needed to talk, he called Mr Chen and ask him to meet them in the mansion after speaking to the press.
