They all woke up, and all attention was focused on the Hulk cracking his knuckles. The crowd remained quiet due to either overwhelming fear or awe. They remained rooted to their spot and looked in awe at the Hulk. For the first time, Hulk had made an appearance in public.
"Quick, we need to record this." She gestured at her cameraman, who quickly pressed the button for a live broadcast.
Back at Daily Planet. The boss needed just one look to put it on an emergency broadcast. He could already imagine the windfall of money he could make due to the ratings. He looked and saw Lois speaking. Again, he wondered where Clark had disappeared. But it did not matter.
He believed both of them to be his lucky charms. Trouble has a way of rearing its ugly face whenever they are together. Hell, his channel was the only one to ever interview Superman. There was a reason that the Daily Planet was considered the premier source of news in the whole world.
There was only one other channel that competed with them.
Nevertheless, he waited for Superman to show himself and save the day.
-----------------------------------------
(Bruce Banner/ Hulk POV)
Hulk was advancing towards Ringmaster. Keeping an eye on Ringmaster and the T rex. It seemed as if the T rex finally woke up. It roared as Hulk was covered by spit. And then it had charged him.
Hulk remained calm as he readied himself to receive the charge. His arms held out. As the T-Rex attempted to bash its head on Hulk.
Hulk moved at the last moment, enveloping the T-Rex's neck inside a choking hold. The T-Rex attempted to charge forward, dragging Hulk with him. But Hulk remained, with his feet planted firmly on the ground. The ground itself cracked as Hulk prevented the T-Rex from moving.
However, instead of applying more pressure, Hulk said in a calming voice. "It's alright, Kiddo. It's alright. No one is going to hurt you anymore. I promise. I will smash them before they get a chance to do anything."
Hulk thought he saw a few tears in the corner of the T-Rex's eyes. Hulk loosened his hold. Soon, the T-Rex transformed into a little green boy. The boy could not be more than 10 years old.
So Hulk asked in a gentle voice. "What's your name?"
"Garfield Logan, Sir." Hulk paused. This was the son of his cousin, Mark Logan. He had lost touch with him a long time ago. But now, seeing his somewhat Nephew. It seems that it is their bloodline that may hold some secret.
From the corner of his eyes, Hulk saw a bazooka aimed at him by the Ringmaster. He fired. A few rockets were fired. Hulk turned his back to them, Obstructing the path to Logan with his own body. There was an explosion, and smoke enveloped the area.
"Well, gentlemen. We need to unleash a few freaks that have not been fully trained yet." Ringmaster said. With a clap of his hands, one more cage rose up. And there was something like a crocodile man on steroids in that cage. Killer croc. A monster said to dwell in sewers. Killing and maiming humans. It saw light after a long time, so it began bashing itself against the cage. Attempting to rip it open.
That managed to wake the crowd as they began running towards the exit. The smoke cleared, and Hulk stood protectively, holding Logan Garfield in his arms.
"Kid, can you hide for the moment. I will call you when it's time to leave." Hulk said.
Logan nodded, turned into a bird, and flew out.
At that time, Killer Croc managed to break out.
"Get that green bird," Ringmaster yelled.
Due to the effects of his prolonged exposure to the artifact, Killer Croc obeyed. It ran towards the bird, ignoring Hulk. And yet, as it passed him by. Hulk grabbed Killer Croc by his tail.
With great anger. "Who said you could leave." Hulk swung him around and threw Killercroc towards the Ringmaster. However, Killer Croc was caught by another figure. It's even larger than Hulk.
"Solomon Grundy, born on a Monday, christened on a Tuesday, married on Wednesday, turned ill on Thursday, grew worse on Friday, died on Saturday, buried on Sunday."
Then Grundy roared as it threw itself on Hulk. Punching with wide abandon. Hulk matched him punch for punch. Their clash caused the dust around them to rise.
Hulk began to slowly overpower Grundy. Slowly getting the upper hand. The longer the fight continues, the more Hulk would grow stronger. It was the reason that he was feared. He was a berserker in the truest meaning of the words.
But Hulk was not only fighting one opponent during his clash with Grundy. Killer Croc had gotten behind him. And finding the perfect opportunity, he attacked Hulk. Killer Croc had held Hulk from behind. His powerful jaws had snapped themselves around Hulk's shoulder.
Seeing his opportunity, Grundy had launched with wild abandon a few strikes towards his chest. Their strength was enough to push both the Hulk and killer Croc backward. With another roar, Grundy leaped again. Attacking with Wild Abandon at Hulk.
And Hulk began to grow more and more angry. The jaws of Killer Croc finally managed to pierce his skin and drink his blood. And yet, it had burned in Killer Croc's mouth. The Hulk angrily broke out of Killer Croc's hold. Seeing another punch coming towards his face, he ducked, dodging the punch in its entirety. The wind whistled inside his ear. Hulk landed an uppercut Grundy. The ground around him cracked due to the force of the attack as Grundy was thrown back. Hulk went for the nearest enemy first, Grabbing Killer Croc, who had its head turned away from him. Its hand inside its mouth. Still affected by Hulk's blood.
Hulk grabbed him from behind, twisting its head with a loud crack. Killer Croc's neck snapped as it fell down lifelessly. Hulk then turned its attention to Solomon Grundy, who had gotten up while he was finishing off Killer Croc.
"Green man, make Grundy mad," Grundy yelled as it charged Hulk. Throwing a powerful punch. Without any grace or technique. Just powered by raw strength.
Hulk just raised a single hand and stopped that nigh-impossible punch. The entire arena was covered by a cloud of dust. As the dust cleared, the ground around them had shattered.
"Grundy, not weak," Grundy yelled as it used its free hand to punch Hulk. Hulk stopped that with his other hand. Now, while holding both of his hands. Hulk squeezed and forced Grundy back. He jumped up, taking Grundy with him to the sky. He looked around and saw a clearing.
Finding the perfect landing spot. He yelled. "Primary Lotus." The bandages around his arms and legs envelop Grundy as they hurtled towards the ground. Spinning until they both looked like a Hurricane. And so, with a large boom, a giant crater was formed.
Hulk walked out of that crater and ran towards the tent. He intended to finish off Ringmaster once and for all. It was only when he was in front of Ringmaster that he was sent flying off from a blue and red blue. Hulk crashed into a few trailers and then went through many of them. Until he landed inside a pit.
Superman had arrived, and in a flash, he had captured Ringmaster. His hands were cuffed behind his back and in front of the police who had arrived.
"Chief, your orders." One policeman said.
"Apprehend the man and let Superman deal with the other heavy hitter. We are not equipped to deal with this situation."
"Yes, Captain."
---------------------------------
(Superman POV)
Superman had come a little late, but there was a reason for that. When he first arrived at the festival, he attempted to use his X-ray vision, and he found himself being obstructed from large regions due to the presence of lead.
The presence of Banner had raised alarm bells inside his mind. But he had decided to investigate the area cordoned by lead first. He was appalled. This was a human trafficking and assassination ring.
Established from the time of World War 2. Superman had spent the majority of his time rescuing the people trapped there. He had to go slow to prevent any harm from happening to the victims trapped there.
As soon as he was done. He had gone to stop Banner.
-----------------------------------
The Hulk stepped out from the crater. As Superman landed in front of him.
"Banner, this is enough. Your anger is clouding your judgment." Superman said. However, this version of the Hulk drove chills down his spine. The last time he had fought Hulk, it was a monster. But this version of the Hulk was calm and relaxed.
Hulk cracked his neck. As his wounds began to heal visibly. "My anger no longer controls me. It is a fuel. " Hulk replied. Then he got a serious expression on his face. "And right now, I am furious."
As Hulk got into a stance. It's a combination of Brazilian judo and the strong fist style. Superman sighed and then flew towards him.
Seeing this as the perfect opportunity.
"Dynamic entry."
Hulk saw this as the perfect opportunity to use a surprise attack. Using his life energy, he jumped forward, accelerating at an insane rate. His legs extended in an absurd state. His hit connected.
Dynamic Entry was all Superman heard as he was kicked in the face. This sent Superman flying off. Like a stone on water, he skipped on the ground a little bit before he managed to land on the ground. Yet, his backward momentum did not stop. He created a long trail of skid marks before he managed to stop.
Hulk, seeing this, broke the seal and yelled. "Kid, come to me now." A green bird landed on his shoulder as Superman charged forward. Breaking the sound barrier, he punched Hulk and just went through him. The punch was aimed at Hulk's stomach to prevent involving the green child in the form of a bird on his shoulder.
"Better luck next time," Hulk called out as he was sucked into a vortex.
Superman got up and touched his face. He felt a bruise forming. It was taking time for his face to heal. Hulk's life energy was full of gamma radiation. He may even be called a Nuclear reactor because of how much power he could output.
And so ended Hulk's first official debut and his battle with Superman. Something observed by the entire world.
-------------------------------------
(Batman POV)
Batman stepped forward. He felt someone land behind him. But he already knew who he was, so he just said. "Superman."
"Batman," Superman replied.
"Don't worry. I am just arranging for their transport back to Arkham Asylum." Batman said.
"Are they not dead?" Superman asked worriedly.
"No, Grundy is immortal, and Killer Croc has a high healing factor," Batman replied. He took a few blood samples from Killer Croc. He looked for Hulk's blood, but by now, it had disappeared. In its place were plants growing. He still took a few samples of the soil.
Batman finally turned around and saw Superman, and he was confused. He saw the man of steel with a bruise on his face. It was healing, but still.
Bruce Banner is stronger than he thought. The fact that he could strategize now was already a fact.
But going toe to toe with Superman. He would need to update his containment strategies for Bruce Banner.
"It seems that he did a number on you," Batman said.
Superman shrugged. "It will heal. For now, we need to investigate the government and the military. What do you know about General Ross?"
Seeing this, they both had no illusion that alot of organization will start illegal experimentation on humans. He got the hint from Bruce Banner himself that both him and the boy may be the creation of the government.
-----------------------------------------------
(General Ross POV)
General Ross had smashed his bottle when he saw the little green boy. The beer soaked his hands.
'Did Banner and his daughter have a child and not say anything to him.'
'Was he already a grandfather?'
'How did Banner manage to control the Hulk. Not control, he was the Hulk.'
And so General Ross fell into even more self-doubt. One thing was sure: they had made something to go toe to toe with Superman.
General Ross sighed. Fortunately, Banner had destroyed all research into his attempt to re-create the Hulk.
But he had no doubt there would be another push to re-create the serum. This was something the top brass would keep going. They may even try to get Bruce Banner on their side. Give him a place in the military as well. Judging by the fact that he was not a psychotic monster anymore. Each of the Hulk's movements was measured and instilled with discipline.
And there is also the fact about the boy that the Hulk rescued. If that was his son, there would be attempts at getting a line of super soldiers.
"Another bottle." He yelled at the barkeep.
----------------------------------------
(Director Fury POV)
"Motherfucker." Director Fury yelled.
This was already going ultimately, Fubar. The council wanted him to recruit Hulk into Shield at all costs.
They had first chided him for his lack of intelligence regarding the movements of Hulk. Ever the pragmatic, he had pointed towards the slashing of their budget.
And so, after he had been yelled at. And given a sizable budget increase. He had called Agent Hill and Coulson to his office.
"Have you found any of Banner's whereabouts?"
Agent Coulson and Hill had looked at each other and replied. "We have not seen Banner anywhere in the entire world. It's like he has disappeared. The last time we caught him on camera was when he suddenly appeared in front of the Circus."
Fury had rubbed his forehead due to the headache that he was getting.
"So, we have no idea where he is."
"Yes, sir."
"Make it a priority to search for him. I don't care if he is hiding under a rock. Find him and the boy. It is a green-colored boy. How hard can it be to search for him? And remember, no hostile intent."
And so a global search for Banner and his supposed son began. Who else can have a green son if not the Hulk.
---------------------------------------------------
(X-men POV)
Xavier was in the Cerebro, attempting to find the child that could turn into different animals. It was strange, but the Hulk and the child were not showing up on the Cerbero. He was asked by Logan to search for them.
He felt Logan's mind behind him.
"Anything, Charles." Logan had asked.
"No. Why the interest?" He had finally asked.
Logan closed his eyes for a moment, and then he replied. "My full name is James Howlett Logan, and they are family. At least, that is what my instincts are telling me."
