Pewter City

After spending a few weeks in Viridian Forest, They finally made it to Pewter City and took a look around the city for a bit and then head to the Pokemon center to get the Pokemon checked out. Liam spent the night once again at the trainer lounge while the Pokemon were getting healed. The next day he went to see Nurse Joy and picked up his two Pokemon Shadow and Arbok. Liam knew he should probably sell Arbok later down the road, but he's been sparing with Shadow for half a month and has been leveling up slowly reaching lvl 30. 

He's going to be shadows back up in case there's a case where he didn't want to show a shadow in public. At first, Arbok was a bit angry. Liam stole him from his trainer, but after not eating for so long and Liam treating him right, he came along and accepted them. During the time in the forest Shadow learned Bite, which would be used to counter Psychic types. Liam grabbed some food for them to eat and headed over to the gym, where he met Ash coming out.

(This Ash is different from the anime one, he's more mature) He got excited at seeing me and approached me. "Hey, Liam, long time no see I heard from Gary you saved his life that's an awesome man." Liam responded, "ya, it was by chance I got picked up, but I'm surprised you didn't end up there." Ash replied," you these two Team Rocket members have been stalking me, so I have a hard time following or trusting anyone, but my Pokemon and the people I know so the guys that tried to capture me were quickly dealt with thanks to Pikachu, Metapod and Mankey." 

Liam responded," wow, you captured that many are already lovely." Ash: "yes, and I got a pidgey too, and I just got my first badge, so I'll be heading out of town soon. Do you want to travel through Mt Moon with me"?. Liam quickly rejects his offer saying that he will be staying there for a few days to train before moving on. Ash promptly asked for a battle. Liam tells him to heal his Pokemon first and then seek him out here, so Ash went off towards the center while Liam headed into the gym. 

There are two trainers before Brock who challenged Liam, so he brought out Arbok to deal them and easily won due to him being a higher level. When Liam got to the main stage, he noticed it looked very Rocky and cold and was amazed at the artwork. Brock came out and greeted Liam. "Hi, my name is Brock, and I'm the gym leader of this gym, and my specialty is a rock type. Unfortunately, I just lost to a trainer, so I won't be taking any challenges for the rest of the day to heal them.'' 

Liam asked him if he could just use his other two Pokemon, and he gets surprised that he knew this. He agrees but warns Liam that they are more durable than his gym Pokemon and Liam gets excited and says," bring it on." One of Brock's trainers approaches the side and says," this battle will be between Brock the rock of Pewter City gym and Liam of Pallet Town, and it will be a two on two actions if you guys are ready to please start." 

Brock takes out a rock looking Pokeball and sends it out. A Geodude comes out and starts pounding the ground, getting hyped, which surprises Liam. Liam asked, "what's wrong with him"  and Brock says, "he hasn't faced a trainer in a while; this one is wild compared to my other one, so I don't use him in fear he would scare the new trainers away." Liam quickly agreed, this Geodude after checking on his Pokedex was a level 20 while his Shadow had reached lvl 25. 

Liam grinned, and Shadow appeared from his shadow, shocking Brock and the other trainers in the gym. He asked what Pokemon is that, and Liam simply tells him a Lugia, but he has no clue what it is, so we just start the battle. Shadow flies in the air looking over the battlefield until Brock gives his first order to Geodude "rock throw."  

Liam told Shadow to dodge and use Water Gun, which shocked Brock, causing him to forget to give orders, and the attack hit Geodude to make him unable to battle. Liam won the first match like that which made Brock mad, and he asked if Liam wanted to switch Pokemon, and Liam said no, so Brock sent out his Golem, which was a lvl 30 surprising. Golem started by using Rock Slide and Shadow to dodged it, but since these rocks are smaller and faster, some hit Shadow, making him land on the ground. 

Golem charges towards him with a tackle, but before he could get to him, Shadow used Thundershock paralyzing him for a quick second. Brock was shocked once again, but then Shadow used Ember just to slow down the Golems movement some more. Shadow was blasting Golems feet with Ember one at a time until it gets red and as he reaches Shadow and was about to Tackle him. 

Shadow used Shadow Movement making him go through Golem and used water gun at his feet, making him unable to move because it hardened his feet so much and it will take some time to heal so just as Liam was about to finish him off with a direct blast of Water Gun Brock orders Golem to use rollout, so golem started to roll not using his feet which pissed Liam off. Not only was there a lvl difference between them, but he had an excellent trainer to give him good orders in the heat of the battle. 

Golems rollout hits Shadow knocking him to the ground. Shadow struggled to get up Liam asked him if he's good to go another round and he tells Liam in his mind that he doesn't want to give up as he saw the fire in his eyes burn. As golem is about to hit Shadow, Shadow used Shadow Movement, making him dodge once again, and he takes into the air to avoid any more hits, but golem is still rolling around, gaining even more speed and power. 

Liam realized he needed to end this battle quickly, or he might lose. Shadow tried to use Thundershock to paralyze him, but Golem was moving to fast. He then used one of the rocks to roll himself up in the air towards Shadow, and Liam quickly shouted" Water Gun to the max" !!! he blasted a powerful Water Gun at the golem. Still, it only slowed him down as he came towards Shadow at full speed. Again, as the Water Gun got more durable and more reliable, it started to turn into a Water Pulse blasting golem back down into the ground and making him unable to battle. 

Liam couldn't believe he won and got so excited and ran towards Shadow, but as he was getting closer, Shadow sent Liam a message telling him that he was tired and wants to take a nap. Hence, he passed out in the air, and Liam caught him before he fell on the ground. "Great job, buddy, you did well." Ash had just entered the gym to see Shadow passed out in Liam's arms and signed, thinking he has to wait until shadow heals for a battle. 

Liam quickly returns him to his Pokeball, which he hasn't entered in the years since he has been using Liam's shadow to hang out in the Shadow Realm. Brock walks up to Liam and hands him his first badge, The Boulder Badge. Liam thanked him for the great battle and called Ash to come down for his campaign which shocked the place. Liam tells them not to worry. He can battle his other Pokemon causing them to now realize that Liam had two Pokemons this whole time. 

Ash was surprised to see the field all messed up and said, "Hey, how come I didn't battle against that Golem, and Brock explained that Liam asked to battle his Pokemon and that Ash's Pokemon wouldn't have survived against them. Ash doesn't say anything seeming to understand his meaning, so he comes down and asks how many Pokemon should he use, and Liam says all four of them at the same time against his one "I don't have time to waste.'' 

Ash gets mad but says, "you will regret looking down on me." He sends Pikachu, Metapod, Pidgey, and Mankey out. Liam than sends Arbok out and commands him to use Glare paralyzing all of them at the same time and ending the battle with a mighty crunch to knock them all out since they were nowhere near his level. Pikachu being a high level 16 while the others were under 16. Ash and Brock are shocked at the strength of this Arbok. 

Liam quickly leaves them stunned that the battle ended like that a one vs. four situations under a minute. Liam gets to the Pokemon center and leaves Shadow with Nurse Joy to heal and leaves to get something to eat.
