Adrian's POV

"For fuck's sake Adrian, leave that tie alone", Sky shouts, as he readjusts my tie, probably for the 5th or 6th...well, I can't remember

"It's your fault we came earlier than the appointed time", I snarl at him

We are in the inner room in a restaurant, well, it's owned by the group also. Today, I'm going to list all my conditions for April to partner with the company, partner with me too, more importantly

"Don't you want to see April too?", he asks, making me glare at him. Why is he still asking, when he knows the answer?

A knock draws my attention from him, "Sir, your guests are here"

I sit up, and straighten the invisible wrinkles on my suit, "let them in"

The door opens to reveal April, and her friend that Sam can't stop talking about

"Good morning to you, Gentlemen". Probably because it has been more than three weeks since I saw her last, or heard her voice, April's looks really gorgeous. I'm not just saying it because it's her, it's because, she really is beautiful

"Have your seats please", I clear my throat, not really liking the way I became nervous whenever April is involved

"Let's get this over with, Mr. Storm", April says, looking at me right in the eyes

I look at Sky, he nods and brings out two envelopes out of his briefcase, and passes them to April and her friend, intentionally holding the  one meant for the friend, releasing it only when he glares at him

And the idiot is still smiling. I really don't know how he became my friend, honestly

"I'm sorry", April's voice pulls me out of my thoughts "but I don't understand this", she says, holding the papers up,

I guess she has seen the last part

I try to maintain a stoic expression, "What is there not to understand, miss?", I ask, going through my own copy, like I didn't know what she is talking about

"I'm talking about the last part that says that I have to live with you", she says, already fuming, while I'm here imagining how the mansion would be again, with her there

"Are you with us, sir?" Her friend, whose name I've forgotten, asks, dragging my attention back to where we are.

"Yes, thank you. Like I asked earlier miss, how is that difficult to understand?"

I see how she breathes into her palms, trying to calm herself. I'm sure she's on the verge of exploding right now, just like what Sky told me yesterday

"You can't add that, April's gonna blow up", Sky says, although my mind's already made up

"I can, and I will. The April I know doesn't let go of opportunities, especially one as big as our company signing a deal with hers, she will have to accept it"

"Then..." he pauses, making me look up at what made him hesitate, "can I ask the same for Samuel too?"

I cock an eyebrow, not needing to talk, before he knows my reply

"A stupid idea, I know"

Back to present, I look at Sky who's looking at Samuel instead, I remember his name now. I need your help genius. Now, I don't know what I'll do if she refuses. Maybe I should just cancel ou-

"I'll do it"

"What??!!" Did I hear her wrong just now. Maybe, I did. No, I'm sure, I did

"April, are you sure about this?" This time, it's Sky that asks her. I heard her right then. Why does he need to confirm again? What if she changes her mind? I'd ask him later

Ignoring the question, she asks instead, "when do I move in?"

"April, please think it through again, before making a decision" Her frie- no Samuel warns her. What's really wrong with these guys? They suit each other, really"

"I've made my decision" she looks at me, "when do I move in?", she repeats the question

"The weekend". That's four days from now. It's enough time to arrange everything

She nods, and we sign the contract. I really can't wait to have her back, where she belongs

"Please, excuse me" Samuel stands up, but April hold his hand, "are you alright?" Who cares if he's not? I hate the fact that she's still holding him

The Samuel guy glares at me instead. Looks like the dislike is mutual, good. It'll be stressful if he's good to me

"Seriously, I should be asking you that!!!!", he shouts, removing his hand from her grip, "excuse me", he says, before going out of the room. Why won't she be okay? I'm gonna take good care of her. She doesn't need to join the mafia if she doesn't want to. It's all gonna be perfect

"Excuse me too", Sky says too, "I have to be the prince charming and put a smile on my princess's... I'm sorry, on my prince's face"

Now, it's just the two of us alone in the room, okay fine....in a restaurant. Get your minds out of the gutter, people

"Thank you for signing the contract with us, sir. It really means a lot, sir". She says, with a smile that doesn't reach her eyes. I don't like that

"April, please talk freely with me". I wanted her to talk the way she did at her company, except the defiant attitude, of course.

"I am talking freely, sir", she continues with that respectful tone, that I really don't want, especially from her. "Can I go now sir? I have a lot of things to do today"

I nod, and she stands up, carrying both hers and her friend's bag, before leaving the room. She didn't even say goodbye

"You'll use a public transport, and get lost again, if you're no-"

"Geez, bro. I'm here, and can you stop bringing that embarrassing shit up again?" His flushed face, I'm sure, is something I don't want to ask about

I shrug, before Sky tells the driver to drive

I lean on the seat, not liking how I'm feeling. I should be happy, since April's moving back in, but I'm not, and I don't know why

"Why did you ask April, if she's sure about her moving in with me?" I ask Sky, "I'll take good care of her, you know"

He looks up from his phone, at me, thinking before answering me, "I know you want her, but did you ever think of what she wants?"

"She wants a free life, I'll give her that. She can still work at that bakery, and meet her friend, and she doesn't need to join the mafia if she doesn't want to". Thank goodness that the inner part of the car is soundproof, so the driver can't hear what we're talking about. Don't blame, it's hard to trust people

He shrugs, "if that's how you see it then. I don't think, I'll want to do something Samuel doesn't want"

I cringe at that, "you're not even dating yet!!!"

He smiles, oh! Don't worry about us. Worry about yourself instead"

I'm seriously gonna kill this guy
