Blueprints

As she was done with her tasks, she had remembered about her promise to take care of Medea so she went through her system once again and began to compile several custom skills.

After completing the skills, she knew that some of her medical and first aid knowledge would only be used so much because it was only at the basic grade and getting closer to the intermediate grade.

However a lot of her other skills had enough knowledge to be able to fill in any gaps and provide new ideas for various types of blueprints.

As Medea was unable to use her limbs for their intended purpose it was best to provide her with a means of living her daily life or protecting herself for now.

Much like the gloves or greaves that Alyssia had worn, several designs for an outer arm and leg frame support began to be compiled by the system one after another along with various types of means of transport to use when she needs to sit down and rest whether it be a simple wheelchair with some support features or even a small boat design that would not be difficult to drive even without the ability to grip her hand, use her fingers or push a pedal with her feet.

She drew up a simple and efficient blueprint that would assist her in standing without putting pressure on her lower leg and more pressure on her abdomen, waist and upper leg and then drew another blueprint that would use the same ideas to create a support for her arms so that she did not need to use her hands to do any other tasks but instead various tools would be built in whether they were to support her daily life or even defend herself.

They both were designed to act as a brace or splint for her arms and legs but also provide her with the chance to walk again since they were designed to be easy to use and are fixed to the waist, knee, shoulder and elbow primarily to allow more freedom of use and not cause further damage to her limbs but another design for her legs was to use a design that is connected to the knee and upward as the lower legs are kept facing backwards and underneath will be something similar to stilts.

Since nothing much could be done to improve her way of life with medicine then the next option was to rely on various means of external support until another solution can be found besides removing her disabled body parts and replacing them with something else entirely but she and Tristan did not have that type of knowledge yet besides adding prosthetics to an already amputated body.

She drew several designs that may prove to be useful and then gave them to Nica to handle the additional tasks of finding someone to complete the parts required for it but also take Medea's measurements and then make some minor adjustments to the blueprints to provide a comfortable fit.

A simple design for a wheelchair was also designed for when she did not have the energy to use her support tools.

It wasn't that she didn't have the skills to have them made but that it required a lot of time and effort to either build the metal moulds or have ever part crafted one at a time.

This required either a professional forger or someone proficient in metalworking that is used to making such things and making them extra durable and suitable for to be used for the designs purpose.

She had also left a document that had some information that Alfred had gained after entering the country and also from the previous island.

Nica was more than enough to complete the necessary steps and configure various extra parts of the blueprint and then put them together one at a time.

After she left, Nica and Tristan came to Medea who was lying back in her wheelchair.

They both had different view on how to proceed with the blueprint designs.

Medea opened her eyes and saw the two minks that had come very close to her without her noticing and opened her mouth. "What is it?"

She was confused by their appearance and began to feel a little uneasy because perhaps it was time for her masters to ask something of her but instead she was met with the two minks who were arguing among themselves.

Tristan said. "The designs do look like they will be helpful but I am not a fan of using the leg designs because they will be difficult to use and adjust to at the beginning but also increase the load on her body which is still in the stage of recovery. I do not recommend it even if it has various thing designs to help not use the lower half of her leg."

Nica however replied. "Why not? I think she can handle it.."

Tristan shook her head and replied. "She may be able to but for now it would be in her best interests not to have any more injuries that are caused by a fall or someone else's interference. Alyssia always says that there may be people out there who wish to bring harm to us… if they cannot harm us then they may target someone close to us. There is no point in spending so much berries to make something that isn't completely stabled when she is being attacked, tripped or pushed by such people."

Nica looked at Medea and showed her the images of the blueprints and asked. "Tell me, what do you think would be best for you?"

Medea was a little confused at first but even if she wasn't properly educated in her family she still read many books and knew a thing or two. "Is this for me?"

Nica smiled and replied. "The captain asked us to look over the blueprints that have been made for you until we find a more permanent solution to your problem. She even drew some simple diagrams to show how they will work and additional features that can be added."

Medea looked towards Tristan and said. "I will go with the doctors wishes."

Tristan smiled and pointed to the wheelchair and arm brace that had a couple of features built into them and said. "These will be best for your body but also provide some better protection for yourself. All we need to do now is measure your body and we will begin getting it ready for you. In the meantime you just need to get used to what you are already using and continue to improve your health."

Nica looked at the both of them and crossed her arms across her chest out of anger. "Hmph! Do not bother listening to me them! At least you could be able to walk around then.."

Medea sighed and then replied. "I am not in a hurry and if there is a chance to walk again one day, I do not wish to ruin my chances by ruining what is left of my body."

Tristan nodded in approval. "Good!"

Meanwhile there was a figure who was standing at a distance away with Archie, Clifford and Carrot but rather than listening to those he was with, he was instead eavesdropping on the conversation about the blueprints.

He walked over and took a quick glance upon them and then warned. "If you want those parts to be built without your designs leaking to every part of the world, then you must split up the blueprints and have them all made by the designs of each individual piece at random so the maker does not figure out its configuration. However from what we know.. the captain intends to recruit that person so I should come with Nica to arrange everything while Carrot stays to guard the ship with Clifford. I believe Tristan is taking Medea out with her later to go shopping for more of the islands specialties and books."

However his eyes fell on one of the sets of designs and asked as he looked down at the cane in his hands. "Is this for me?"

Nica looked at him and back at the blueprints and said. "I believe that was the captains intention. Your job is a dangerous one and you are weak so it helps to have some extra protection however that doesn't mean that you can slack on training."

What was before his eyes was a design that was the shape of the cane but it had some extra built in features.

At the tip of the cane was a feature that acted like a self defence shock stick but there were also a couple of other defensive tools that came along with it.

Suddenly he felt that his decision back then was the correct one…

Alyssia treated them all too well so he had to pay her back by working hard while she is busy with her own things.
