Chapter # 03

"What in the..", said James while grabbing the item that fell on top of his head. It was a beautiful chain pendent with a dazzling purple jewel attached to it.

Suddenly James had a flashback of when he was a baby. He saw 2 blurred figures, a man and a woman smiling cheerfully while looking at him. The woman was wearing the same pendent that was in James's hand. The vision ended.

"Who were those two" thought James. He looked up the bookshelf and there was the same basket in which he was delivered to the Rosswells. Of course they haven't told anything to James. As soon as he touched the basket at the top of the bookshelf, he had another vision.

The scene was chaotic. He was in his baby body and still wasn't able to clearly see but still recognized by the surrounding that the situation was not great. He was surrounded by flames and ashes. The 2 figures were there again. Both were looking exhausted and worried. The man said something to the lady and the baby James but he wasn't able to hear anything. Then he went out of his sight. Tears of the woman felled on James and he felt the coldness of the tears. The woman took off the pendent she was wearing and put it beside him. Then she kissed him on the forehead and suddenly a bright white light shined. And he was back.

Who were they? What happened to them? How do they know him? Many questions whirled inside James's mind. There were some points that James noted regarding the appearance of the 2 figures. His vision was not clear, but he was able to distinguish colors. He noted that the man had the same white hairs as him and the woman had the same red eyes as him. The reason why James hadn't expected the Rosswells as fake foster parents because Mrs Rosswell had the same white hairs like him and because she was from the Hook's family and they are known to have white hairs. But soon heartbreaking truth was about to be unfolded in front of his eyes.

James placed down the basket from the bookshelf to look what was inside. There was a neatly arranged baby dress, a snowy white blanket and....and the envelope. James was shocked. It was the same letter which came with James (Like a 2 in 1 package), which requested the adoption of James. He had not even read the letter yet he was shocked. Because it was like the same letter that he just received a moment ago; a jet black envelope, with silvery ink writing. At first he thought that it was the same but it was addressed to Mr and Mrs Rosswell and was 15 years old.

James took out the letter from the envelope. The page inside was full black and was written with the same silvery ink. It said;

Mr and Mrs Rosswell,

Most Respectfully it is stated that this child (James Hook) is the son of Mr and Mrs Hook (Thomas Hook and Sara Well) who have unfortunately passed away while bravely protecting the peace of this world. It was Thomas's personal request that if something happens to them, this child should be given to his sister (Mrs Rosswell). Therefore according to his will, this child is given to you. Take good care of him and treat him as your own son. As he has by-birth extraordinary talent, we wish him to join us. Hence we will contact you when he reaches a specific age..

James was heartbroken. He didn't want to face the truth. At first, he thought that it was a joke, but looking at all the hints, clues and documents, he strongly doubted it. He knew that the Rosswells didn't wanted to loose him so they hid the truth. Plus, they gave him true love like real parents. So fortunately, he didn't develop any hateful feelings against them. But he couldn't believe that uptill now, he was unaware of it. He didn't even slightly doubted this relation.
