Chapter 4: A handful
"That was quite the fight, my lord," Yuki remarked. Itachi nodded in agreement and replied, "The warriors here are not as strong as they should be. We need to find someone to train them."
Yuki, shocked by Itachi's assessment, hesitated before saying, "But, my lord, Haruto is a general."
Itachi sighed and remarked, "He was a weak general."
Yuki then led Itachi into the Demon King's bedroom.
Itachi: "Is this room for one person?"
Yuki: "Yes, my lord."
Itachi looked around, taken aback, and commented, "It's enormous."
Yuki clapped her hands, and a group of maids appeared.
Yuki: "From now on, you all will be the Demon King's personal maids."
The maids replied in unison, "Yes, ma'am."
Itachi glanced at the numerous maids and mumbled, "I don't think I need so many maids."
Yuki shot Itachi a stern look, and he quickly backtracked, "Okay, okay, I understand." In his thoughts, he noted, "Yuki sure can get upset easily."
Yuki: "It would be better if you took a bath and got some rest, my lord. Tomorrow will be a very busy day for you."
Itachi nodded, a hint of worry in his expression. "I see," he replied.
As soon as Yuki left, the maids sprang into action. They bathed Itachi and changed his clothes, ensuring his comfort. Afterward, they escorted him to his bed and quietly left the room.
Yuki, concerned for Itachi's safety, stationed two guards at the entrance to his bedroom to ensure a peaceful night's rest.
The following day, Itachi was greeted by the group of maids who promptly informed him, "It's time to get ready, my lord."
After being bathed and dressed by the maids, Itachi heard a knock on the door. One of the knights outside opened the door, and Yuki walked in.
"It's time, my lord," she said, wearing a grin that made Itachi feel uneasy.
"This doesn't feel like something good," Itachi thought to himself.
Yuki and Itachi then left the room, accompanied by a small group of knights.
Itachi couldn't help but ask, "Do I really need to be escorted by guards even within the castle?"
"Yes," Yuki replied.
A few minutes later, they arrived at the Demon Lord's office. Yuki pulled open the door, and Itachi entered, only to find a man standing in a corner.
"Hello, my lord," the young man greeted. Itachi raised an eyebrow and inquired, "And who might you be?"
"I'm Henry, my lord," the man replied.
Yuki then clarified, "Henry will be your personal guard, my lord."
Itachi nodded in understanding and turned to Yuki. "By the way, Yuki, what am I supposed to do now?"
Yuki explained, "Well, your coronation is tomorrow, so for now, all you have to do is study and learn more about this world."
Itachi settled into his chair at the desk and leaned back, feeling the weight of the responsibilities on his shoulders. Gradually, he dozed off, lost in thought and fatigue.
Hours passed, and when he finally awoke, he was surprised to find Henry still standing in the same spot, unwavering in his duty.
Itachi, slightly disoriented, asked, "How long was I asleep for?"
Henry replied calmly, "Three hours, my lord."
Suddenly, the Demon King's office was invaded by an unexpected trio - a girl and two men. The girl pointed a dagger at Itachi and demanded, "Are you the Demon King?"
Itachi, visibly surprised and concerned, looked at Henry and asked, "How did they get in?"
Henry explained, "Yuki removed the guards outside since I was with you. They must have sneaked inside the castle."
Itachi rose from his seat and approached the girl and the two men, his expression calm and composed. "What do you guys want?" he asked.
The girl grinned wickedly and replied, "Your life."
Itachi couldn't help but smirk and started to laugh. "This is funny," he said dismissively, then returned to his desk and sat down.
At that moment, Yuki appeared instantly, her presence commanding.
Yuki scolded the intruders, "What are you three doing in here? Tim, Joe, and Maria, get out this instant."
The trio obeyed and left the office. Itachi, with a determined look, turned to Yuki.
"Yuki, have those three executed tomorrow," he ordered.
Upon hearing this, Yuki stopped in shock.
"Kill them?" she exclaimed.
Itachi nodded firmly and reiterated, "Yes, kill them."
Yuki couldn't hide her concern and pleaded with Itachi not to take their lives. Itachi let out a sigh, contemplating the situation, and then said, "Alright, let them sweep the grounds every day for ten years."
Relieved that Itachi had chosen a more merciful option, Yuki accepted his proposal.
As Itachi and Yuki were conversing, two men accidentally bumped into Itachi without offering an apology. Yuki immediately called out to the men, and they came to a halt.
Yuki rushed over to them, admonishing them, "Have some respect for the Demon Lord."
Itachi intervened, saying, "It's alright, Yuki. Let's give them a chance this once."
Yuki sighed and warned the men, "Next time, both of your heads will be rolling. Now go."
Fearful, the two men hurriedly departed, realizing the gravity of their actions.
Itachi: "Yuki, what's for dinner?"
Yuki: "Everything you might like."
Itachi: "Please have dinner with me tonight."
Yuki: "If that is your wish, then I shall do so."
