His care

He guided her out of the room, one hand on her elbow, the other holding her dress tightly. He could feel her stumbling a little as she walked, her muscles weak and trembling. He knew she was in pain, but his concern was tempered by anger. Who had done this to her, and why had she tried to hide it from him? Those were the questions burning in his mind as he led her towards his car.

Alexander helped her into the backseat of the car, his hands gentle but firm. He got in beside her, closing the door behind them. She was pressed close to him, her body trembling against his. He could feel the heat radiating off her, the subtle scent of her perfume mixed with sweat and pain. He looked up at the driver and gave a clipped order. "Drive..." He settled back against the seat, wrapping his arm around her shoulders, holding her close.
