CHAPTER 21

Y/N'S POV

I spent the next two weeks dedicating them to reading Hydes books in the library and to archery and fencing practices. Even being an Addams, I came to miss the sunlight because I spent it locked up each and every day. Yoko recommended me to take a break and go for a walk around with the rest of the group, but what I had in hand was much more important.

- Brooke: Y/N! - she said approaching my table - Enid has stopped by and brought you a coffee, she told me to tell you  not to try too hard - she smiled.

-Y/N: I've already read almost all the books you gave me, I'll finish this soon - I said concentrating on the page - I'll get to the bottom of all this.

-Brooke: I know you're doing all this for the safety of the academy, but I think it's not good to overdo it - she sat down next to me - Have you seen the dark circles you have?

-Y/N: Do I have dark circles under my eyes? - I said without paying much attention to him - That's why I was telling Wenny that I've been looking better lately.

Brooke: Having dark circles is not a good thing, Addams! - she scolded me - Are you sleeping well at night? - I looked at her and smiled without answering her question - It's normal that you're like this, you don't sleep, you don't rest... At least you'll be eating well. Right?

-Y/N: Yes, that's right - I turned my eyes to the book - Anyone opposes Enid... She threatened to feed me in front of everyone if I didn't eat on my own.

- Brooke: It sounds horrible - she said sarcastically - You're lucky to have someone who cares so much about you... And even more if the feeling is mutual - she commented as she leaned on the table and watched me.

I kept reading while ignoring Brooke's presence. As long as she was silent and didn't interrupt me, I didn't care if she stayed by my side. However, after about half an hour with her staring at me, I did start to get uncomfortable. What was it that caught her attention? I sighed, raised the vist to the front and then looked at her making a face of confusion.

-Y/N: Why are you looking at me so much? You're going to wear my face out with so much looking at me - I made her smile with that comment - Don't you have to be waiting at the counter?

-Brooke: There are not many students who are interested in reading, most of the ones who come here do it to make out - she said staring at me - I understand them, huh... A date at the library sounds really good. But obviously the librarian is not necessary in that situation.

-Y/N: - I nodded - It makes sense, and in a way it's better for you, so you don't have much work to do - I smiled - You can do whatever you want.

- Brooke: That's why I'm here looking at you - she changed her position and leaned her elbow on the table and then resting her head on the palm of her hand - You can continue reading if you want.

-Y/N: It makes it hard for me to keep reading if you look at me this intensely, it makes me think that you want something from me - I admitted - That or that I have something horrible on my face...

- Brooke: Now that you mention it - she stared at me - Your face is really horrible, and even more so when you smile - she let out a giggle - Although I think that smile actually favors you.

-Y/N: Are you making fun of me or are you flattering me?

- Brooke: Both of those things? - She let out a giggle - You know, you spend every afternoon in the library getting into those stupid books, and although apparently you are not doing anything extravagant... My gaze always ends up fixed on you. I wonder why that is, because it happens every damn day.

-Y/N: So it's not the first time you've watched me... - I pressed my lips together and made a nod. - Wow, I thought Normies had better things to do.

- Brooke: Don't call me that, I don't feel the same way anymore as at the beginning - she sat up straight - Now I find you fascinating and you arouse a great curiosity in me, especially when I look at you. You look so focused on reading with your serious face that makes me wonder what your other facets are like - she smiled - I've seen you focused, happy, serious, proud with that stupid smile, and I don't know... I think I want to keep looking at you so I don't miss any of those facets.

I didn't know what to answer Brooke, I personally didn't consider myself that interesting. I ended the reading session and closed the book to fully focus on the conversation I was having with Duncan.

-Y/N: In the end you're going to end up looking like a stalker if you look at me that much - I made an attempt to joke.

- Brooke: - she started laughing - Well, I wouldn't mind looking like that because I know you like that kind of shady stuff - she pushed her chair closer to mine - Hey Y/N. Can I ask you a rather personal question?

-Y/N: If it's about being able to do it, you can do it - I smiled burlesquely - But I don't promise to give you an answer - I received a light punch on the arm - It's okay, it's okay... Go ahead, you have my full attention.

- Brooke: Are you dating Enid? And I don't mean for you to go for a walk around... I'm asking you if she's your girlfriend - she said suddenly very seriously.

-Y/N: - I swallowed thick and pulled the sleeves of my sweatshirt to cover my hands - Enid and I, if we are dating... - i looked at her. - No, we're not girlfriends. If you think about it, it's actually only been a month and a little since I arrived here... So it's impossible that I've started dating anyone romantically - I smiled nervously - And that's without adding the fact that I've never experienced anything romantic and I have no idea how those things work.

-Brooke: - her face lit up and she smiled widely - It's a relief, I always see you two together and I was thinking maybe you have something beyond a friendship - She came a little closer to me tilting her body - Now that I know you're nothing, I won't regret it if I try.

-Y/N: If you try the what? - i said totally lost in the conversation - It's getting late - I got up and put the books in my backpack - I'm going to be late for dinner-

- Brooke: Y/N - she grabbed my arm and stopped me - Would you have a date with me? - she said in a trembling voice as he clenched his fists.

-Y/N: A date? - i had to make an effort to keep my mouth shut and avoid putting on a surprised face - But Brooke... Do you know what I am? Have you seen me? I am not human, I am a-

-Brooke: Kitsune, I know - she smiled and waved her hands to keep me from interrupting her - And I don't mind, I want to get closer and know more about that side of you too. I think that no matter what species you are, that doesn't have to intercede in feelings - she looked at the floor embarrassed - My God, it's the first time I've done something like that...

-Y/N: Feelings? That would mean that you have feelings for me... Right? - I said not really sure.

- Brooke: - she nodded slowly while avoiding looking at my face - I couldn't help it, I know you've probably never considered me a romantic option because you have Eni- No, this is about us - she corrected herself - Y/N, I like you - she finally looked at my face - And I want us to get to know each other better, that's why I'm asking you on this date. Everything is without pressure, with tranquility and with a good vibe everything... I'm not going to force you to feel things for me or anything like that, I just want you to give yourself the opportunity to get to know me beyond the academy and the damn mess with the hydes - she smiled at me - Will you be able to do that for me?
