Chapter 33: Student and Reunion

Lucas said his goodbyes to the military and was about to head out but a young man in a suit of armor approached him at the gate.

"Lucas! I was wanting to ask you a favor..."

Lucas turned around and looked at him strangely

'Doesn't seem to have much combat prowess... What would he want from me?'

"Yeah, Kid?" Asked Lucas

The kid stumbled over his words for a second before collecting himself and taking a deep breath.

"I hear you the strongest man on earth! I would like to be under your tutelage," As soon as the young man finished his sentence he bent down on all knees and bowed in a gesture of beseeching him.

A stunned look appeared on Lucas's face before he decided to look at his nameplate.

'Maybe this could be my good deed for a bit. If he has potential then it could even be beneficial towards me,'

---

<<Name>: Pin Ryne. <Levels>: Tier 0: <Soldier: LV: 4>Tier 0: <Athlete: LV:9> <Age>: 20>>

<Description>:

Pin Ryne worked on a farm for the majority of his life. This caused his body to develop much better than others of the same age. He has a natural talent for anything that has to do with his body and is working his way up the ranks of the soldiers at the Compound one person at a time

---

'Hmm... A natural-born athlete. I can work with this,'

Lucas put on a disgruntled face to the boy before slowly nodding his head in acceptance.

"Since you are literally begging for me to be your teacher I guess I have no choice... I guess being shameless has its benefits at times,"

Pin stood up immediately and bowed towards Lucas with a serious look on his face. He began to speak and as he did so a fire began to light in his eyes as passion-filled his every word.

"What is my first task, Sir!"

Lucas looked at him with confusion before slowly answering.

"To come with me so I can train you on the way back to my main base I suppose,"

The boy had a puzzled look on his face before it finally dawned on him.

"You are not staying here?"

Lucas shook his head and gave Pin a look like he was stupid.

"Then I suppose I must stay here, Master," Pin said with a disgruntled look on his face. He was truly unlucky!

Lucas looked at the boy with pity and raised his hand as if to reach out for something.

"W-What are you trying to do, Master?!"

Lucas scoffed and looked away as an awkward expression appeared on his face.

"Just hand me something so I can at least pass down a gift to my future student,"

Pin seemed to understand what was going on before taking out a simple-looking pistol and handing it to him.

Lucas grabbed it without hesitation. He checked if there were any bullets in it, and after confirming that it was a loaded weapon, he fired the gun at the ground a few dozen feet away.

Pin immediately tried to grab the gun but Lucas easily sidestepped him.

"You can't shoot a gun randomly, Master!"

While Pin was trying to reason with his Master Lucas found himself in his mind examining what he had just found out about the gun.

"Decent fire rate," Lucas said as he shot off two more bullets which caused the surrounding people to look their way.

Pin acted more frustrated by the moment as he amped up his efforts to grab the gun.

"The gun is pretty smooth in its handling. Doesn't kick much and seems to have great accuracy."

"A beautiful gun, worthy of being a military-grade firearm." Lucas finished.

'Use <Imbue> on the Pistol in my hands.' Lucas asked the system gently.

<User has used mana enough to unlock the following common skill: <Mana Sense> Unlocked.>

<Current mana is: 70/70>

<How much mana do you want to use on this casting of <Imbue>?>

Lucas looked at the notification with a sense of satisfaction before putting down a simple number.

<64 Mana has been deducted. What do you want to imprint upon the gun?>

Lucas pondered for a while before making a decision.

'Make the main focus of the gun to increase power while maintaining accuracy and kick back ratio. And secondly, I would like excess mana to be used on the bullets to make them deal more damage to their targets.'

<Done~!>

The system dinged slightly while a burst of green light exited Lucas's hands and covered the gun. Moments after the flash of light cleared a new gun was fixed in his hand.

Lucas waited for a second while inspecting it before looking at it with his appraiser skill.

---

'Not my best work but at least it's decent,' Lucas thought as he passed the gun to the, now gawking, kid.

"Thank you so much, Master! This may just save my life one day,"

Pin bowed once more to Lucas before making his way to the training grounds as if excited to practice.

Lucas turned around after the kid was gone and began walking through the desert before a notification popped up on his peripherals.

<User has gained 20 reputation points for their territory due to the relationship that has developed with the following faction: <Forendel's Military Force>.>

<User has gained 1 reputation point for inspiring a young hero.>

'Reputation points... right. I definitely know what those do,' Lucas thought to himself as he made his way back home, but once more, something interrupted him on the way.

<The user has officially joined a rival faction. Territory strength has increased by 1000 points.>

'I guess this is good,' Lucas thought before muting the system.

'Stop spamming me though!'

---

After nearly 5 days Lucas had finally made his way back to the street he was familiar with and was surprised to see a number of random people helping rebuild the street.

Upon reaching the main gate, Yes a gate! Lucas was promptly warned to step back by a guard that was armed with a sharp-looking knife.

"You know I am the one who made this joint right?"

A sense of worry was filling Lucas and was growing stronger by the moment.

'Did these people kill or steal Lina away?!'

"W-Wait! Are you the famous Lukey?!" The lacky was visibly shaking at the sight of Lucas and seemed to lose all confidence in himself after learning who his target was.

"Ugh... I suppose I am. Did Lina tell you to call me that?"

The guard nodded before quickly opening the gate up and welcoming him in.

Lucas sighed once more before quickly heading towards the laundry mat, which looked surprisingly packed.

Lucas felt that each step he took was being watched by the surrounding people and it wasn't hard to tell that they were trying to figure out who exactly he was.

The street had multiple cans filled with wood and other flammable objects and was constantly being used to help cook food or warm those who got cold at night.

Other than that, the cars were all removed and nothing was left on the street except new additions.

'I wonder where all these people came from '

Lucas quickly opened up the map and counted how many humans were here before noticing that there was a grand total of 73 humans in the camp that had appeared in the past week or so.

"ugh..."

After searching the map for a moment he found Lina on it and headed towards the direction it showed her blip.

Walking through the crowded street was no easy task but eventually, Lucas found himself in the back of the Laundry mat where the beds resided and found Lina laying on the bed with a smile.

She seemed to be helping people understand the basics of construction and was trying desperately to describe what needed to be done to a small group of teens.

"You have to make sure that there is enough space between buildings in case we need to make a quick escape silly!"

Lucas smiled and waited in the doorway for a solid ten minutes before Lina noticed him. She immediately jolted up from her seat and was in his arms in a matter of moments.

"Lukas! I thought I would never see you again..."

The hug was more like a death grip in the hands of the young fairy but Lucas didn't complain and just hugged back.

After the two had finally finished reuniting they both sat down on the bed and excused the teenagers from the room.

"How the hell did all of this happen?" Lucas asked.

Lina smiled brightly before giving him a thumbs up.

"I thought you were not coming back so... I had to make some extra friends."

'Great... Now I have to watch out for her being taken advantage of by this random group of people.'

'Let's hope I don't have to bash some skulls in...'
