Chapter 5: The CEO

Alexandria smile at the children and tell them to play their games while she talk to the 'new principal'.

Maleek: "Miss Clarke - I'm aware of your business with the last principal"

Alexandria: "There wasn't much of a 'business' between the principal and I" (she says in a whisper so the little kids couldn't hear)

Maleek: "He wanted to rape you"

Alexandria chest tighten and she furrow her eyebrows.

Alexandria: "Are we done here?"

Maleek take a card out of his suit jacket and give to her. She look at it and purse her lips wondering why he gave her.

Maleek: "If you need anything - call me" (he says then walk out)

Alexandria shudder from disgust as he brush against her closer than intended. She turn to watch him leave then let out a breath after he did.

Mandy walk up to her and she plaster on a smile to make herself seem better.

Mandy: "Are you okay Miss Clarke?"

Alexandria: "I'm fine sweetheart - how about you go and play some games?"

Mandy: (pout) "No one wants me to play with them"

Alexandria: "Alright here's what...you get to sit in my chair and draw anything you want on a paper"

Mandy's face light up and she run go to the chair and sit. Alexandria smile but she couldn't help but wonder back at Maleek Malburrow.

Is he trying to get in my pants? - (she thinks)

She look back down at the paper and flick it in her hands.

Alexandria sit on the school bench and stare out of space not knowing that Vincenzo is walking up to her.

Vincenzo: "Alexandria" (he says)

Her head snap up to him and she nearly double take at the cold look on his face. He's in a grey suit and his shoes are shiny.

Alexandria: "Hey...what's wrong?"

He look down at her left hand and she follow his gaze to see that his eyes are on her ring. She hide her hand behind her back and look up at him with pursed lips.

Vincenzo: "Let's go" (he says)

And then once again - he leave her standing there..wondering.

Mandy was already in the car when they got to the car. Alexandria get in the passenger seat and buckle herself as Vincenzo get in and immediately start driving. He didn't glance or even talk to her on the journey to his house.

She look at her hand in her lap and bite her lip wondering what she did.

Mandy: "Daddy.. Miss Clarke made me sit in her chair and draw"

Vincenzo: "That's great topolino... those kids still don't know your a princess yet?"

Mandy: "Nope" (she says and shake her head)

Vincenzo: "They're missing out topolino"

Mandy: "Big big daddy"

Vincenzo smile and Mandy giggle.

Alexandria look at Vincenzo and tilt her head. It amazes her how one time she was this judgemental girl who judged people who had one night stands but yet still yesterday...she herself had a one night stand.

Vincenzo look at her and she suck in a breath.

And then - he looked back at the road.

Alexandria look at Vincenzo on the bed and scrub her eyes.

Vincenzo: "Who is he?"

Alexandria: "What are you talking about?"

Vincenzo: "The man in the picture.... Is he your husband?"

Alexandria sit up and look at the clock on the nightstand. It's one o clock in the morning.

Alexandria: "Ex - fiance"

Vincenzo: "You still wear the ring"

Alexandria look down at her hand and purse her lips slowly.

Alexandria: "He died in a car crash..it was sudden and this ring is the only thing I have to remind me of him" (she says as tears find the corner of her eyes)

Vincenzo: "Marshall"

Alexandria: (furrow her eyebrows) "What do you mean?"

Vincenzo: "My last name is Marshall and I'm the owner of Marshalls Enterprise"

She's heard about that before. She's heard that the man is really smart and cares about his business a lot. She's seen pictures of him before but with him under the disguise of a gardener... it's hard to imagine he's the famous CEO.

Alexandria put a hand on his tense back and pull him back to her on the bed.

Alexandria: "Well hello Vincenzo Marshall" (she says slowly)

He shudder and she smirk.

Maybe this won't be bad after all - (she thinks and relax)
