You can't handle the truth!

... complete devastation.

It became clearer as the blinding beam of light I had punched out tore through the sky above, ripping a hole in the atmosphere of Niflheim, exposing us to the trickling starlight at the edge of the void.

A massive cold breeze blew past us all, as we watched on.

The massive sword falling from the sky disintegrated, crumbling away into ashes and one of my two forcefield generators crackled with electricity, before shorting, burnt out, the faint smell of ionized air stinging my nose.

I sighed in relief.

The danger had passed.

Still, at what cost?

I looked down at my arm, now a mangled mess, hanging onto my shoulder with strings of smoking flesh and once again felt thankful that I had come into some immortality not too long ago.

I will recover, but looking over the others, I couldn't say the same. Especially Hela.

After I tore her right arm straight off, and nearly gutted her, it was a wonder she was still standing, not a wince on her face.

A true warrior woman.

Reminded me of Offee in that way.

Ah, I still remember back in Ryloth, watching her tear through enemy ranks like a hot knife through butter.

Gave me the chills.

The good kind.

Man, do I wanna fuck her so bad right now.

Even with those god awful cheekbones.

And maybe with a little surgery... let's see.

I turned off my rocket shoes and jumped down, landing before Hela just as my arm finished healing up and found her standing there shell shocked, eyes glassed over, muttering to herself.

She looked up at me as her eyes focused, narrowing into a glare.

"What were you thinking? That sword could have split Niflheim in two! You would have died to it too! What are you, a suicide bomber, sheesh!" I scolded Hela as I walked over, cracking my neck.

"How?" She asked.

"How what?"

"How did you....what was that power? Since when do humans wield such might?!

It's....It surpasses any I have ever seen." She said, her breath hitching.

"Then you haven't seen enough. I am not even the most powerful person in the universe."

I could sense Odin's deadpan gaze lingering over me.

"Yes Odin, really. There are way stronger beings out there. Entropy. Eternity. Even some Celestials. I suspect even you know some of those.

Though that's going to change when I get back to full power with my new A.I."

"That wasn't the extent of your power?!" Hela asked, surprised.

"What? No. No, of course not. I'm actually way weaker right now since I dont have access to my usual arsenal of weapons. And my support A.I. too. Why do you think you were even able to scratch me? I'm not here in my battle attire. This is what I wear usually. On a stroll through the garden or something. This..." I gestured around us, "....is nothing. A little chore.

If I had come prepared for battle, there wouldn't have been one. Because you'd have been splattered all over the floor even before you stepped through that door."

I smiled.

Yup. If I hadn't needed to do all the calculations myself, if the A.I. had been her to do that for me, I'd have just shit her through with the Godslayer immediately. Unfortunately, without the A.I., not only did I have to do all that work myself, but I also had to communicate with the ship, sort through the inventory for the necessary equipment and align portals to them all on my own.

Just that makes up a two microsecond delay in my actions.

It's not much against mooks. But against Hela, it allows her to dodge my portals.

Which, is unfortunate and unnecessary.

I sighed.

How long has it been since I actually fought unassisted?

Almost two years now.

And when you have an A.I. doing all but spoonfeeding you, you tend to get lazy.

I .... got lazy.

And out of sheer force of habit, I tried to use the ship's weapons systems.

No more.

Let's try fighting the old way.

I looked at Hela processing the bombshell I had dropped as I unclipped the comms earring and chucked it into a portal.

"You...." Hela looked up at me.

"Yes?"

"You're a powerful warrior. Come and bend the knee. Serve me as my second in command. You will have all that you desire as we conquer the nine realms." She eyed me from head to toe, licking her lips, "Perhaps, I shall even make you my consort."

I had to almost stop the urge to laugh in her face.

Still, maybe I should give her a chance.

"Great offer. Yes. But counterpoint.

And hear me out. You will enslave or exterminate the humans, won't you?"

"For you, I will do them the honor of enslaving them. They shall have the honor of serving their gods. Serving me for the rest of time." She replied, haughtily.

For me?

So she was going to genocide all of humanity otherwise huh?

"Yeah thought so. No can do then. I'm not a fan of humans or anything. Just that my children are human too. And that attitude.... it's no bueno in my household." I wagged my finger at her.

"That's a shame. You can't be allowed to live then. You must die here..... For Asgard to flourish. For my rule to stand. I can just raise you from the dead to serve me after."

This time I couldn't hold back my laughter.

"You assume there will be an after for you." I laughed, "Oh darling. No. Your story ends here. And it's a damn shame too. If you weren't such a nazi, I'd have put the crown of Asgard on your head myself. I quite liked rest of you."

"Shame it is then." She replied, as another long sword rose from the ground, and she raised it to me.

Nice sword, but I intend to not give her the chance to use it in the first place.

I formed a knife hand and took a stance, before connecting directly to my portal gun in my coat.

Exo musculature wrapped arpund me and with a burst of speed, I pushed against the ground.

The ground cracked beneath my feet, denting at my footfalls and I shot forward, straight at Hela.

Immediately, she swung out her sword, sending a volley of spikes at me, peppering me along the way.

I swatted them out of the air until finally, I caught one in it's path and spun around, throwing it back at Hela with a boom.

Alarmed, she raised her sword to defend herself. To no avail.

While she guarded against the spike, shattering it with her blade, but that left her side unguarded, just as I had planned.

In that instant of defence, I covered the distance between us, raising my foot and threw a kick at her with such speed it left sonic boom in it's wake.

She was no amateur though.

She immediately twirled her sword, aiming it in my path, trying to skewer my foot through.

With a flick of my wrist, the telekinetic module activated, and I slapped the sword to the side while my leg snaked around the sword.

I shifted ever so slightly, adjusting my trajectory and slammed my foot into her chest with the force of a two ton bomb.

Her ribs cracked and shattered with a sickening squelch, she spat out blood and gasped as she was sent flying back, into the distance, out of my reach.

But that wasn't an escape, only a brief respite as a portal opened in her path, and she exited right beside me.

I plucked her falling form right out of the air, grabbing her by the throat and with one smooth swipe, sliced off her left arm as well just as she pulled out another sword, trying to stab me through the gut.

The sword clinked as it fell to the floor along with the arm and Hela stared back at me helplessly.

Her eyes looked up at me tired and almost broken but ever defiant.

"Do it." She croaked, coughing out some blood, "Send me to Valhalla."

I nodded and rammed my hand through her chest, ripping out her heart.

I raised it to her eyes and crushed it, still beating in front of her.

A warrior's death.

In battle against a worthy opponent.

She deserved it.

"Any last wishes?" I asked, placing another arm around her back, holding her in a princess carry.

"I wish to be buried in Asgard. Beside my beloved Fenrir. Let me pet his head, feel his soft fur one last time, even if in death." She requested as Odin walked over with the two princes.

She looked at Odin as a mocking smiled fell over her face.

"Father...." She coughed, trying to laugh.

"I suppose you're happy now, at last? I gave you your empire. I bled for you, father. But then, simply because my ambition outgrew yours, you banished me, caged me, locked me away like an animal. Before that, Asgard's warriors were honored. Now....look at us. A mere human....brings us to our knees.

We could have been so much more.

I could have made us more.

And you imprisoned me for it. For my love of Asgard. You took away everything from me." She began to tear up.

"Do you know what that feels like, father? Being imprisoned in Hel. For millennia."

"Hela ..." Odin looked stuck.

Guess he couldn't find the words.

"In there I realised... something that should have been obvious from the start. But I was blinded by my love for you father.

I didn't realise until it was too late..."

"Just die quietly Hela. Do not disgrace Asgard any further!" He raised his voice, summoning his spear to him as he went to stab her.

But I caught it, inches shy from her heart.

"Let her speak her last. I think these two deserve to know the truth." I smiled, pushing back Gungnir, sending Odin stumbling back a couple of steps.

He steadied himself and frowned.

"This isn't what we agreed upon, Traveler!" Odin said, pointing the spear at me.

Hela looked at him and laughed, gurgling on her own blood.

"That's it, isn't it, father? Everything is an agreement to you? You have no love for anyone. Everyone is just a pawn, an agreement. Made, used, sold or broken as you desire. That's what I was too.

Disgrace Asgard? I brought glory to Asgard and you cast me down for it.

Asgard....Our empire. My empire.

You were proud of me once, proud of what we built. Proud to have it, but ashamed of how you got it. What have you now father? Bending to whims of lesser creatures? Treaties? Peace?" She scoffed, as the light in her eyes dimmed, tears flowing down her cheeks, soaking into the dirt beneath her as she hiccuped one last time.

"I hope you're happy now, father. I hope yo-"

And then, mid sentence, she died.

I let her last words linger for a moment in silence as I sighed, looking back at her.

Such a fine piece of ass.

Wasted completely.

But then again, it's none of my business.

I just want to get my reward, get back home, start coding a new A.I. for the ship.

I stood up, and patted my pants clean, before turning to Odin.

"Now then, let's talk about my reward, shall we?"
