Eragon was still processing everything that happened the last few days.He was called by Rhaenyra and Arwen to meet in the Royal gardens and something told him this was going to be a pain.

Just like Eragon thought what Rhaenyra asked was slightly shocking,as he asked"Rhaenyra you are asking me to court you?"

Rhaenyra nodded and said stammering"I...I always liked you and this courting also helps me get rid of all the marriage proposals coming my way."

Eragon looked at Arwen,who was looking at him with amusement as she always knew how Rhaenyra was enamored by Eragon,so she said"While multiple partners isn't a thing in our culture,but because of how a century or two may pass before us getting of the first child and even longer between child and child.This probably will be helpful in keeping proposals that would hurt Rhaenyra in the long run."

Eragon knew Elves views on marriage has lot of contradictions like an example of extreme marital strife among the Eldar is the case of Eöl and Aredhel, where Eöl tried to restrain his wife from living the life of her choice. As a result, Aredhel left Eöl without his knowing, and took their son, Maeglin, with her back to Gondolin. The end result was that Eöl sought revenge upon his own family, and while seeking to slay his rebellious son, slew his wife accidentally.

Another example of great discontent developed between Fëanor and Nerdanel after the theft of the Silmarils. Nerdanel did not wish to be parted from all her children nor did she wish to follow her husband against the Valar's wishes. Fëanor's harsh response was that, if she would not follow him, she was an untrue wife for deserting both her husband and her children.

This proposal news did shock everyone,some were not happy with it because if this marriage does come to pass,then this would be Eragon's marriage.

When questioned about this Eragon didn't say much,but Rhaenyra did privately talk to her father and mother about this,while he was reluctant.But Aemma agreed seeing how happy her daughter was about this proposal,so Viserys couldn't do anything about it.

But they did discuss about him being immortal and Rhaenyra's morality,which was cleared up by pointing out the that if both of them does decide to go with the marriage,then Rhaenyra would be blessed by the Valar to be an elf.

Also many saw this as opportunity to bring Middle-earth and Five kingdoms close,this also strengthened Rhaenyra heiress status more.

While Otto was fuming with anger hearing about this,he did have supporter that were hoping Aegon would get on the throne like hard-core supporters of the seven like Tully,who dislike Valar and houses Lannisters and Baratheons had some grievance with either North or Middle-earth.

But there was another person who was angry and Jealous about this news,it was none other than Alicent who bitter about marrying an old man(She forgot the little fact Eragon is much older),while Rhaenyra would go one to marry someone powerful and handsome as Eragon.
