The bright moon hung high in the sky, shining brightly. The dark night was still and only the sound of tyres racing on the road was heard. The window, still open, brought light breeze inside but that couldn't erase the dreadful atmosphere in the car.

Aghan lightly looked at the girl, sitting beside him in a daze. He wanted to talk her or expected at least any reaction but even her breathing couldn't be heard. Like he was sitting next statue. Same as she was in the past month.

' She needs time to process everything'

His mind was telling him to give her space but all the rationality and self control was already thrown out of the window when he brought her here. He sighed.

Contrary to when he came to lake in full speed, now the car was just lazing around the road.

He hesitated and then slowly touched her hand. It was late summer and nights were increasingly chilly. Her little hand was icy cold. Noticing that, he firmly gripped it.

Ayla was lost in her thoughts. Since Aghan ended that call, there was a ringing in her brain. That kind of a ringing people hear after a bomb blasts. A siren like an alarm clock. She often hears it but today The ringing won't stop, no matter how hard she tried. Instead it just grew louder and louder.

The urge to scream and run was all that she could think about. She had to stop it or hide before anyone notices like she always does. It was the same urge that has been haunting her since childhood. The previous sounds were like they are coming from afar but today it felt different. More real. It was compelling her to do something, she had to get rid of this ringing, this agony. But she didn't know what to do.

'Destroy'

She heard a faint sound amidst the ringing. It was clear. She was could barely feel herself breathing but her heart was about to burst. She squeezed her eyes shut and clenched her teeth.

' I don't like it '

'This Feeling'

'STOPP ! MAKE IT STOP!!!'

'Please'

Suddenly her hand was gripped. The cold dark smoke clouding her eyes slowly subsided. The heat from the hand travelled into her. She could feel herself breathing again. It was the first time somebody held her during these delusions.

'How?' this never happened before.

Aghan carefully looked at her afraid that she might not like his touch.

"Ayla "

Her body shook and she slowly looked at the hand holding hers. Perhaps he felt her discomfort and was about to withdraw his hand when she held it with both her hands, panting hard.

"Ayla, are you okay?"

She looked up at him, tears flowing down her eyes. She saw grey eyes in the dark night, filled with concern.

'Why?'

'Why would anyone be concerned about me?'

Huh! It was funny.

She woke from her stupor, blinked hurriedly and wiped her tears.

"Why wouldn't I be fine?"

The world turned back to normal. She faced the window and pretended that nothing happened.
