I Become The Rift Sovereign Of Space

He was an innocent child, much like the other children, cherished by a loving family and surrounded by sweet childhood memories. However, their peace ends when a mutation outbreak suddenly appears nearby, driving them to seek refuge in a city that is capable of withstanding the MutationalRift Virus. Just as he was about to hope to return to his normal life, fate interfered cruelly. He was identified as having a high resistance to the MrV and was forcibly separated from the parents he adored. The reason was to help in the fight for survival and to contribute to the greater good of humanity. As he was about to transfer to a different site, he pleaded for one final visit to see his beloved parents. Tragically, he learned that they died trying to get him back. In the middle of the harsh experiment, he manages to create a friendship, only to see them die because of the failure of the experiment, leaving him grieving once more and losing his will to live. Yet in the middle of the experiment, he remembered his past and gained more will, reason, and purpose. He vowed to walk the thorny path alongside fellow survivors, even if history would paint them as villains. Their mission as a whole is to destroy the union, humanity's savior. But are all saviors heroes to all eyes? "Guardians and Resistance, mark my words. Tonight honors the beginning of your downfall, and your demise shall signal our liberation," he declared with resolve. But as he walked onward, fate presented another cruel twist. His childhood friend, with whom he shared joy and memories, now stood on the opposite side. Would he extend a hand to rescue her from the union's dark methods of saving humanity? Or would he resign himself to the fate carved by those in power?

Prologue

The unforgiving terrain and the howling winds whip the snow madness. The northern land that was once a vibrant place is now buried under a sea of cold sand, ravaged by the unending assault of the white storm.

The bustling life that once thrived here is no more, replaced by a wasteland where cold-hearted creatures only dare to roam. They lurk through the unending winter, their frostbitten fur blending seamlessly with the snowy storm as they hunt for any sign of life in the winter.

Despite the danger that filled the place, one dared to build a place hiding its scheme from the rest, a concealed place to many. It was heavenly guarded, killing anything insight unquestionably.

Inside the clandestine place, it filled with laughter and joy, shared solely among the members of "GR" – the Guardian and Resistance alliance. A union forged in defiance and a fight against the relentless attack of "MrV," the dreaded MutationRift Virus, whose origins lay shrouded within an abnormality, a spacial rift said to be the origin of MrV devoid of its history or purpose and why it exists in this world.

Even within the ranks of "GR," whispers spread their doubt about the true nature of their knowledge regarding the rift and MrV. Behind the mask of unity, a select few might have glimpsed the confidential truths concealed within the alliance's depths.

"Can you believe it? Those kids, the ones we used to babysit at the Special Orphanage, actually made history!" The room was loud and filled with laughter and joy. The man speaking seemed to have lived through decades of experiences, his voice carrying the proof of his decades in this world.

"Right? I remember when they couldn't even take a look at a single dead mutarift without crying, and now they've taken down a rift sovereign of death! It's unbelievable!" Another man boots, reminiscing about the children he once watched for while serving as a guard at the Special Orphanage. The orphanage is a front to the public eye, secretly harboring children with high resistance to the virus, growing them to become soldiers capable of wielding the abilities of a virus under the cover of adoption by members of the GR.

"They're the heroes, the last hope for this damn world. Defeating a rift sovereign is no small feat; those creatures hold immense power, capable of defying the laws of reality," the first man continued, admiration evident in his voice and carved into his face.

"Yeah, without the MrV resistance we possess, we'd be too defenseless. Just having a mere thought of facing the full force of the virus's abilities without resistance sends shivers down my spine," the second man's voice added, highlighting the importance of the artificial resistance created by the GR.

"What are you getting scared of? This place only has mutarifts and no rift sovereign! Even the strongest mutarift here only reaches Spatial Adept at best; we could easily handle one or two," the third man reassured, taking another sip of his drink.

"Spatial Adept? What the hell is that?"

"What? Are you too drunk to remember the classification of Mutarifts? Come on, it's basic knowledge among the GR. Listen up and drill it into your brain. As soldiers of the GR, knowing the ranks of Mutarifts is required for reporting to avoid unnecessary action.

Firstly, there's the Fractured. These are still in development, akin to wild predators, but they move in packs, making them more dangerous. Spatial Adept or higher MrV authority is often to lead the pack.

Next, we have the Mutarift. These Mutarift have completed their development and have the potential to evolve further to adapt to their environment. They're twice as strong as Fractured.

The Spatial Adept is the evolved form of a Mutarift. While it's weaker than a Fractured, it holds the fifth highest rank among the seven due to its MrV authority, allowing it to use abilities depending on the environment it takes on.

Moving up, we have the Rift Master. It's similar to the Spatial Adept but more powerful, with increased MrV authority allowing it to summon nearby mutarift through spatial rifts or call nearby Mutarifts of lower rank.

Then there's the Rift Warden. With even greater MrV authority, its strength surpasses that of a Rift Master. Its abilities can influence the environment, often guarding spatial rifts where it gathers more MrV, sacrificing Mutarifts to evolve into a Spatial Paragon, the final Mutarift evolution.

Spatial Paragon, the final evolution of Mutarift, is a rare type of Mutarift. Evolving into one is already rare; it is more common that the evolving phase of a Rift Warden will fail, explode, and release gases that spread into the air. These gases are called Warden's miracle. It is said to increase resistance to MrV. Because of this, all we knew about Spatial Paragon was that it was nearly as powerful as a Rift Sovereign.

.

And lastly, nothing is known about the Rift Sovereign. No one has an idea how it was made, why it was made, or when it will show up. Even among the highest ranks of the GR, one thing we know will often appear near surviving cities."

"Just kidding, I didn't forget the ranks of Mutarift, hahaha," the man replied with an awkward smile.

"Damn you," the other man replied with an annoyed, carved expression.

"But the Warden's miracle is already suspicious; don't you think it's connected with the Rift Sovereign? I mean, the gas thing is an MrV for sure."

"Seriously? Tsk, listen, according to GR research, the Warden's miracle isn't powerful enough to threaten our lives. It won't cause us any death or life-threatening effects; rather, it will increase our resistance. Let's stop with the MrV thing. Understanding complicated matters isn't my strong suit. Now, it's time for some sleep," he said before quickly falling asleep.

The two guards finally surrendered to their desire to sleep. Beyond the door, they were meant to guard the harsh reality of the GR, a truth hidden even among the members of the GR. Within the door, rows of prison cells confined children who had somehow had high resistance against the MrV; their dead gazes show the torment they endured in their years in the experiment they unwillingly took, and some showed a strong rage. But why would the two guards act like it's a moral thing to let these innocent children suffer? Does the GR have something to do with it?

Among them stood a child distinct from the rest—in his eyes burned not the reflection of the torment but a fierce blaze of rage. "Guardians and Resistance, mark my words. Tonight honors the beginning of your downfall, and your demise shall signal our liberation," the boy promised to the silent wind. His eyes gleamed with the hue of dark purple, harboring a promise of vengeance.
