"Let's go in, Arnold."
Grey called out to me as I stopped in front of the court building. It was inside the Inner District, around the nobles' homes.
Today was the first hearing of the entire case... Usually, the Imperial Family would give a verdict and be done... But as both of the criminals this time was from the major noble houses, the nobles' court would decide instead of the Imperial Family to give a "fair trial".
I had never heard about it, maybe because this method was never used before. And the reason why it was being used now wasn't due to some "fair trial" as the nobles were saying.
The true reason was...
"We let them decide the fate of the man who helped Jeffery to force their daughters... As Jeffery himself is dead, Phillips will take the full brunt of their anger."
Felicia had told me the night before via a communication channel.
It seemed that the Imperial Family cared about the nobles a bit more than what I was expecting.
