Unexpected Leaving

The time flies so fast, more than they expected. Georgina and Henrick are already standing in front of the Incheon airport with only their luggage. The cold breeze of wind brushes their body as it blows hard. Neither the two wears thick clothes nor anything that protects their body in the cold.

It still didn't feel right. Everything isn't right. A while ago, the two are just in the Jung mansion, but now they're in South Korea—standing in the freezing weather. Before everything got processed in their mind, their instinct to find a shelter to escape from an intense cold came in. They rode a cab and headed straight to the nearest hotel.

It took less than half an hour before they reached a hotel and booked a room.

Georgina just left her luggage at the entrance and slammed her body on the bed while Henrick's on his phone, trying to contact his mother.

"Mom? What the hell is this? We didn't even agree to go here. Mom, don't hang up on me. Hey..." Henrick frustratedly massages the bridge of his nose when his mother hangs up the phone. "I can't believe that old hag..."

"Until when are we staying here?" Georgina asked without looking at him.

"Well, probably a week or two at most. I need to attend a party with my parents in two weeks so..."

"Two weeks?" Georgina mumbles before she glances toward Henrick, who's scanning his phone. "Yesterday..." She said that made Henrick look at her.

"Yesterday, what?"

"Are you still mad?"

Before he can answer her, his phone rings, so he answers the call and turns his back to Georgina.

"Yeah, I'm going back there with someone. Please, hire someone to clean it. I'm staying for two weeks at most, I guess. The old hag decided it by herself. Don't tell grandma and grandpa. Pick us up here. I'll send you the location."

After Henrick conversation with someone on the phone, he looked back toward Georgina and saw her playing on her phone.

"Do you want to eat?"

"Who called you?"

"Do I need to tell it?" He unconsciously asked, but she glared at him. "It's my friend here. I told him, I'm here and to help me clean up my house."

An awkward silence occurs between them again, not until her phone rings. She looked at it and saw Giovanni's name. Her heart skipped a beat just seeing his name on the screen. She immediately sits up and answers the call with mixed feelings.

"V-Van... Is there any problem?"

"Where are you? You told us there's a change in the plan."

"A-ah... W-well, there's a bit of delay, I guess..." She said. "I'm here in South Korea now. Maybe, I'll stay here for a week or two. I'll contact you when we get back."

"We? Are you with someone?"

Georgina glanced towards Henrick and saw his dimmed face while glaring at her. She gulped, staring back at him.

Her heart beats rapidly, out of nowhere. She didn't know if it was because she was talking with Van or Henrick's staring at him. Since when did she doubt her feelings for Giovanni? Maybe, because they used to be together for a long time, and she felt conscious of his presence.

"Hey, Gia. I'm asking you a question."

"H-huh? A-ah..."

Amidst her troubled thoughts, she didn't notice Henrick standing in front. She looked at him with confusion, but the man grabbed her hands and reached out to touch the back of her head as she pulled her closer. They stared for a few seconds before their lips touched each other. The phone slipped on her hand out of shock while the man moved his lips to deepen the kiss.

Her mind went blank at that moment.

She didn't know whose heartbeat she was even hearing right now. Everything just happened in a flash of light. She forgot about Giovanni's call.

"S-stop... V-Van's calling me..." Georgina said, trying to push him away. Though in the end, she got overpowered by him. They found themselves in an awkward position. Henrick's on top of her while she's lying on the bed. "H-hey,"

Instead of listening, Henrick leans down and kisses her again.

"S-stop. I-I said stop it, bastard." She pushed him away and gave him a death glare. "What the hell is wrong with you?"

"Gia? Is there something wrong? Are you with Henrick? What did he do?"

With a trembling hand, Georgina picks up the phone again. "There's nothing wrong here. I'm fine. Let's talk again when we come back. Bye."

"Hey, Gia..."

"I'll call you later," she ends the call and glances at Henrick again. But he stands up without looking at her and leaves the room.

She wants to call him and talk it over, but she doesn't know what words to say. He's strange since yesterday. It's as if she's facing another him that anyone doesn't know. Not only him, she feels indifferent too.

The next day, Georgina wakes up not seeing Henrick inside the room. He didn't come back since he left. There are no calls or texts. She tried to call him, but he didn't answer.

It's lunchtime when a man comes into their hotel room, saying that Henrick called him to pick her up. She doubted it at first, but she remembered the person whose on the phone with Henrick yesterday. On their way to their destination, a deafening silence reverberates inside the car. Even the man keeps glancing at her out of worry.

"I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Zeno, Park Zeno, Henrick's friend, and you're Georgina Alvarez, right?" She nodded and gave a brief smile before looking back outside the window.

"Where's Henrick?" She asked out of curiosity.

"I don't know. Henrick called me in the morning and told me to pick you up. He's an unpredictable man but still kind inside. It was the first time I saw him pay attention to a woman of his own will. Are you his girlfriend?"

"Fiancee, I guess."

"H-huh?"

"I-It's arranged marriage,"

"Are you sure? Henrick won't accept an old tradition like those old lads' beliefs. He hated following such things." Zeno said, chuckling.

"Maybe, he's out of his mind."

A silence came in between after their conversation. Until they reached their destination, neither the two talked nor asked any more questions.

Georgina stared in front of the duplex house. It's not as big as the mansion, just a usual house with two floors, but the exterior is pure modern design. It's also smaller than their house before.

"This is Henrick's house. Even his parents didn't know he had one of his own in this country. Since he left, my younger sister's the only one living here, and she takes care of everything, so don't get shocked when you see someone inside." Zeno explained as he took out the luggage inside the compartment.

"I'll take my luggage." Georgina insisted before they walked inside.

Although it looks smaller from the outside, the inside is wide. There's a garden and a stone pathway towards the entrance of the main door. Amidst walking, Georgina keeps glancing here and there to familiarize herself with the place. She didn't realize that they were already in front of the door.

A woman, who's a bit smaller than her, wearing black sweatpants and a cream-white hoodie jacket, welcomes them. She has a wide genuine smile on her lips, but it vanishes as she looks toward Georgina.

"Brother, where's Henrick? Who's she?"

Zeno turns to Georgina before looking towards his sister. "Sora, this is Georgina, Henrick's fiancee, and Georgina, this is my younger sister Park Sora."

"H-Hi. It's nice to meet you." Georgina offered her hand for a handshake, but the woman frowned—staring at her hand.

"Brother, what fiancee? Henrick didn't tell me anything of this to me. Did you know it?" The woman ignored her. It made her flabbergasted.

"I didn't know it too. Anyway, Georgina will live here, so get along well."

"Live here? Why all of a sudden?"

"It's not all of a sudden. I told you before, Henrick will bring someone here."

"Tsk. I expected at least to see Kiela and not anyone else."

Georgina flinches because of her words.

Not only with Sora, but Henrick also brought Kiela here. She knows it's out of her reach because their relationship is pure business rather than a real marriage. But hearing her name makes Georgina feels uncomfortable.

"What are you doing in front of the door? You're blocking the way." A familiar voice of a man came in between an awkward atmosphere.

The three turned behind in confusion and saw Henrick. He's with an unfamiliar woman wrapping his arm around her shoulder.

"Bro, who's that woman?" Zeno asked, breaking the silence.

"Oh, this is Rian. We met at the club last night, and she accompanied me throughout the night, so I brought her here." Henrick answered with a grin.

"H-huh? B-but..." Zeno said, glancing towards Georgina, who was shocked by his words but still calmed herself by looking down. "Y-Your fiance..."

"Please take me to my room. I'm tired," Georgina said.

"A-ah... W-well, Sora, take Georgina to her room."

"Why would I take her? It isn't a big house. She can take care of herself, besides I've been waiting for Henrick since last night."

"Sora."

"It's fine, just tell me where's the room. I can take care of myself."

"Second floor, last room on the left side," Sora said.

Georgina didn't say anything anymore and took her luggage before she walked towards her designated room without looking back.
