Broken Deal

Marga, Warren and Georgina are inside the dining room to eat their dinner, but they glued all their attention to her. Since Georgina came out to her room and join them to eat, she keeps hitting her head on the table like a crazy one. She can't think of anything but what happened before on the rooftop. It didn't bother Jaceriel, but she still had a reputation to keep, so, without a word, she tried to run after the person who had seen them but couldn't get a hold of it. Until now, those thoughts and question comes inside her mind.

On the other side, Marga and Warren look at each other with question mark on their eyes, but no one knows what's going on.

"Gina, what happened to you? It looks like someone possessed you. Big sis Marga, don't you know what happened?" He turn to Marga, who's in front of them.

"Who knows? She didn't attend any of our class before, maybe in the middle of their date." She chortled out.

Georgina hit her head hard on the table and turn to the left side with a lifeless gaze.

"Date with whom? Big bro Van again? I thought the two of you already broke up?"

"There's a chance, but your big sister has a new boyfriend."

Georgina frown and slam both hands on the table, grit her teeth. "Can't you stop blurting out those people's name? It's f*cking annoying. I don't want to eat anymore."

She stood up, that made the two jaw drop in awe. With a heavy stomp, she walks upstairs to reach her room. A deep sigh escapes her mouth as soon as she falls down with her stomach facing the bed. She didn't bother to open the lights, rather bury her face on the pillow out of frustration. Only the moonlight from outside came through the window.

In the middle of the long silence, her phone rings. She didn't look who's calling and answer it with close eyes-not moving an inch.

"Who's this?"

"Are you sleeping already, Ms. President? It's me Joshua."

"Hmm... What is it?"

"You didn't attend the Student Council meeting before, and I didn't know why you ditch the class for the first time."

"Spill the beans Josh. I'm kinda tired now."

"I just want to inform you about what we'd discussed before. It's about the upcoming Senior Camp. Many students from our grade requested, within this week or next week, we all agreed to it without your opinion. I already wrote a letter of approval for the Principal consent, I left it on your table. Did you see it?" He asked.

"Sorry, I went home after class. I'll take care of it tomorrow."

"A-ah... There's a problem. Someone has destroyed the SC Office doorknob, maybe the lower grade levels fault."

She rolled over and look at the time through her phone. It's already 7:23 p.m. in the evening. The main gate will close around 9:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. if she wants to come, there's almost two to three hours left.

Besides, there are students who's still left inside the school, especially those who have a club activities. If she didn't come and fix everything tomorrow maybe, someone will come and ruin or sneak around to get some important files there. Even though many students respected her as a Student Council President, there are still many students who want to get back at her.

"Fine. I'll take care of it today before the main gate close."

"H-huh? It's already dark outside."

"I'll be fine alone. Besides, we can't let some important files left on the table. Don't worry, see you tomorrow." She ended the call.

Georgina stands up and fixes herself, wears a black hooded jacket since this past few days the weather seems colder every night than morning. After a few minutes, she walked downstairs and saw both Marga and Warren in the living room watching a drama series. They look at her as she walk pass by them without a single word.

"Hey Gina, where are you going at this hour?" Marga asked, looks at her with a question mark. She looks at Warren, but he's giving the same look.

"I'll be back. Don't forget to lock the door if you go upstairs."

*St. Luke High School*

It takes 20 minutes to ride via cab when she reaches the school grounds. The guard who's in the guard post greets her as soon as she walks inside. She only greeted back and go inside the main building. On the way, she saw the lights from other club rooms on the ground floor were still open. Some students walk inside or outside with a tumbler or paper on their hands, but she ignores it and continues to walk to the 2nd floor where the Student Council Office.

Compare to the ground floor where the hallway lights are still on, here in second floor there're no lights. It's quite dark, but still because of the moonlight from outside, she can see everything.

In front of the SC Office, she's about to open the door but it's half open. Like outside, the room is dark too. The AC is open, as well as the window. She heard a rustling sound as the wind blows hard from outside. Using her left hand, she turn on the lights and saw an unexpected scene. The room is a total mess. Papers scatters around, those books on the shelves fall down and there's even a vandalism on the meeting table, her table and on the walls. She massages her temple as she looks around. She stride towards her table and saw the word, 'Annoying President,' it's written using a red paint.

"Those fools..."

"Is it fun to be a President?" She almost jump in shock when a voice came out from behind. As soon as she turns around, Giovanni Javier welcomes her.

It's bright and they can see each other well. They look at each other for a few seconds, but in the end she surrenders and glance away. Until now, the scene from before came to her mind.

"W-what are you doing here?" She asked and picks up the scattered paper on the floor.

"It's unnecessary to tell you the main reason."

"Y-yeah, I guess so..." She left out a force laugh.

"I can't imagine many people hate you here, bitter, annoying, boastful, heartless... It's not even a good word to describe a highly praised person like you." He chuckles as he steps inside, looks around the room.

No one dared to talk after what he said. The atmosphere, though it's quiet, you can still feel the tension, a silent tension. Georgina continues to clean up the area, picks both paper and books, and arranges it through its designated place. She waits for him to go outside, but she still feels the intense gaze he's been giving since before.

"Did you talk with your mother?" He broke the silence.

"N-no..."

"I'm telling you this Gia, if you don't want me to hurt you furthermore... Please, talk to your family and make them stop. I don't know the deal with you and never wish to meddle with it, but I'm out of your life since you left. What more they want from us?" He said, try to not get mad again.

Georgina tightens the grip on the paper until it gets crumple. Without hesitation, she stands up and face him with a serious stare. She knows there's nothing wrong with what he said, but even now, she can't accept the fact how he pushes her away-through his past, present or future. It's as if Georgina Alvarez never walks and stops by in his life.

"You don't need to worry. If what you said is all right then, she'll come to make a scene besides her happiness is my sadness. Despite of it, even if you accept my apology or not is fine but I still want to say sorry. I'll take full responsibility for her attitude towards your family affair."

He chuckled and walk towards her.

"Apology? Responsibility? You're making me laugh, Gia." He stops in front of her, caresses her left cheek.

"W-what..."

"I won't accept your apology or your family. Do you know how many times my parents shred tears and beg other people just to save the small business they've built from hard work? While you're busy hiding, my family face a chaos. We don't know how to fix," both eyes widened at what he said. She looks at him, full of confusion.

"W-what? Y-you... Even after I'm gone?"

"What's with the shock face, Gia? You should know it better than me. Besides, I received a lot of threats from your mother."

Those words make her jaw drop as she step backward. Both hands and knees tremble. It made her fall down on the ground. There are many thoughts runs on her mind, questions seek for an answer and doubts that want to be clear. Continuous tears fell down from both eyes as the scene from before came into her mind. It's her last conversation to her mother after she goes back to states like what she wanted.

*1 year and 10 months ago*

"On regards to what we talked about before, Gina, what's your answer?"

"Tsk. Promise me one thing, then. Stay away from Giovanni Javier and his family."

"It's him again. Do you know that man is lying to you all this time but your a naïve to not notice it?"

"Stop talking and tell me if you will accept my decision,"

"Georgina don't trust him,"

"I'll go. This talk is nonsense from the start."

"As a mother I'm concern for your future."

"Don't talk to me ever again..."

"Hello. Mr. San, did you get the document? It's the Javier leather company, right? Yeah, be sure to get everything."

Georgina snatches the phone to her mother and ends the call without hesitation, looks at her with furious eyes.

"I'll go back to the States, so stop bothering them. It's my only condition."

"Deal. Go back and left this country without a trace."

*End of Flashback*

"T-this... A-are you sure of what you are saying?"

"I'm not like you who used to lie every time your mouth runs. Don't even cry in front of me, it won't work."

"V-van... T-this... I'm..." she find a right words to say but she can't think of anything.

"I don't know what did I do wrong. I don't know why I become a madman and grow full of hatred and regret."

She clenches both fists, head bows down. "I-I'm sorry."

"Too late Georgina,"

After he says those words, he storms out of the room leave Georgina alone while burst out crying like a child.
