Chapter 1 prolouge

Buck was an 18-year-old teenager who had just finished his final college A-level, he was determined to do the best he could and spent many hours sweating over a desk studying to be prepared for it, it was very stressful. The pressure to perform well weighed heavily on him, leading to feelings of stress and anxiety. He struggled with sleep deprivation and lacked focus it felt like he was just going through the cycles of the day, which negatively impacted his overall well-being.

He believed that he had to put his all into his exam or he couldn't follow his dream of getting a scholarship for a sports university course in fencing, he wanted to go to one of the most prestigious universities known for its fencing course with 2 past national fencing champions being from the same university what just shows the sheer talent and teaching that takes place in the university and required either a scholarship to attend or an astronomical amount of money to enter since it was the most famous and prestigious university that employed the highest quality of staff and materials, it had a specialised meal plan with the freshest ingredients for each student while also having the top of the line gym equipment and many personal trainers.

The level of competition, talent and prestige could only be found there and whoever wanted to advance their skills in the art of fencing or whatever other sport they wanted to excel in had to attend or else they would be behind the graduates for the rest of their lives living in regret due to the lack of equal equivalent universities

If you didn't attend there were no other universities for fencing in bucks country that would be good enough to nurture him to become the world champion of fencing and he simply didn't have the funds to live abroad or afford the exorbitant price for abroad universities

Buck was the regional under 18's champion of fencing but that didn't mean much to the other applicants for the scholarship as they had more opportunities to compete in different tournaments worldwide with the same amount of skill he had this is in stark contrast to Buck who couldn't leave his region due to his struggling financial situation and found a lack of opponents to spar against

**************************

Buck's parents divorced at a young age and his mother was quick to vanish after finalising the divorce all in the process of taking everything his dad owned leaving his father to fend for himself and look after a child

It was difficult for Buck's father to work a full-time job while having to constantly look after a baby as he couldn't afford a babysitter while he worked or even knew how to take care of a baby, he had to find work to feed the baby while taking notes and watching videos at night on how to look after a baby

He found a job as a cleaner where he could bring his child along to look after, although the pay wasn't high and it was filthy work but his father didn't utter a word of dissatisfaction ever while Buck was around and tried his best to provide for Buck

Once buck was older he found his interest in fencing when he saw through a glass window, two men dressed like white nightmares swinging their blades at each other furiously, it was a battle of wits and skill and buck found a desire to be like that as well, thinking that they looked so cool but also scary at the same time

Buck found this interesting so when he asked his father if he could attend lessons for it all his father said was "ok" after that his father wasn't around much working two jobs to be able to afford the lessons for Buck, this led to Buck having to learn how to care for himself, cook, clean, and even the dedication his father had in being able to put his head down and focus on a single task.

Time passed for Buck as he continued his lessons in fencing taking years of learning to be a somewhat capable fencer and advanced in skill enough to take part in tournaments where he began to earn small amounts of prize money which he used to pay for his own lessons and expand his skill with the sword with other classes on how to handle different swords. His desire to become the best grew with his skill and spread to wanting to learn other sword styles and disciplines.

This put Buck's father into a situation where he wanted to support his son more but didn't know how to other than to buy the equipment required for Buck with his own money, so he began to save up the money he saved from Buck now paying for his own lessons and wanted to surprise him on his birthday.

Buck attended a school in his local region full of people in similar situations to him but some did have better conditions than others even in this school with buck being on one extreme end of the poverty

"Hey buck want to come round and watch some anime again, I can't wait to watch hunter x hunter with you." a boy with brown hair and glasses said while looking towards buck who was sitting in the corner of the classroom by the window

"Sorry I can't today, ive got my fencing lessons today." buck said

"Ah you and your fencing, I know you would marry it if you could," the boy said while pushing up his glasses

"Haha, and I know you would marry the 2d girls in the anime if you could, haha." buck said bantering back with his friend, he appreciated his friend who still looked after him even though he couldn't give anything back to him, his friend would let him come and watch anime with him on the tv in there house while his mother cooked food for the both of them

Buck was thankful to his friend and his friend's mother and felt that the hole that his own mother left was somewhat filled by them and the environment they created for Buck when he came around, especially with how his friend's mother treated him with such warmth and care like buck was her own son

When that special day reached, bucks father didn't end up coming home, soon after the police visited buck, he was utterly baffled at first as to why they were there but that quickly turned into despair for their arrival signifying the death of his farther

He was told that his father was mugged and tried to resist but was stabbed to death while trying to fight back, fight for the opportunity to finally give his son something good, something to reward all the struggles he's been put through by his deadbeat dad who couldn't even afford the luxury of being there for his son when he was a child, a reward for the mental toughness he has despite his age, a reward for the effort and dedication he's shown for his studies and hobby of fencing

Although his father didn't really approve of buck wanting to do fencing to the dangerous element that swords possessed, the idea of a sharp lethal object that could kill being swung at his child but when he thought of his son finally displaying a sense of greed in all the years where he simply didn't ask for anything due to knowing the struggle his father has to go through every day just to afford to live for the both of them but he simply fell in love with fencing and wanted to try his best at it

His efforts rewarded him as he practised more and attended competitions more in his area, as years passed his skills began to show against his competitors as he won more and was able to turn that hobby, his passion into something possibly lucrative enough to be able to take care of himself and his father so he put in more effort and dedicated all his time to it letting his studies slip through his fingers

When he was informed of his father's death he immediately rushed to the crime scene to see a puddle of blood as his father's body was propped up against the wall with a fencing sword stabbed through his body

Buck soon put together the puzzle of his father's death of having purchased this sword on his birthday but was confronted with thieves trying to steal it from him, he knew how his father wouldn't let it go without a struggle like he's been doing his whole life and was killed with buck gift in the end after a fight

They would've taken the sword if they were calmer but probably ran after realising that they did kill the man so they clearly weren't experienced in killing

That is when buck had a dangerous glint in his eyes he decided to give up on his future at that very moment and knew what he needed to do

He began to wield his sword longer for passion but instead for vengeance
