Chapter 55
Jake Pov:
"I will ask you one more time, where did your accomplices go?," The interrogator asks.
"Last I checked, our friends drove off without us and abandoned us. I have no need to keep secret on their location. And what happened to me having an attorney, I sure don't see one. And why are your prioritizing this when that store was being robbed?," I ask, not caring about the government agent standing up against the wall.
"Alright, if I am getting this correct, you refuse to give up your accomplices, insulted the police, refused to have an attorney present, and tried to turn us away from you onto a different matter. You will have your court case tomorrow," The interrogator says.
"This is a clear violation of Miranda rights and the laws of the archipelago. Can't believe I have to even use this. Foxtrot-Mike-Mike-Alpha-November-Sierra. That should be all I need to say, am I right?," I respond, looking directly at the agent.
"Yes, but how do you know that code? That was from a set of 7 codes given to people in the highest level of witness protection. An you don't match the appearance, or even fit in with any of them," The agent responds walking over.
"Hey, you can't interrupt my interrogation," The interrogator says.
"A lot can happen when you leave the public eye for years. I know you won't let me off, so just take me to talk to him," I say, ignoring the interrogator.
"Alright," They respond, going to take off my shackles.
"Guards! You can't just take my prisoner!," The interrogator says, getting angry.
"I can because of the code he gave me. The only reason I here is because the shop hit was a place of interest for VC. That command she gave overrides the police's authority of Berk. While it won't remove his crimes, it still allows her to request something. Such as a face to face meeting with my boss. Cuffs," The agent says.
"No need," I say, standing up and snapping them like plastic.
"Those were made from pure Steel!," The interrogator says.
"Lets go," The agent says as guards burst into the room.
"Freeze," They tell the agent.
"By authority of Viking Command and Chieftain override I am taking custody of the prisoners you came into possession of today. The people who raised that electronics store and the ones who jumped off the modded truck," The agent says, showing their badge. The guards stop and the head one reads it.
"Of course, Mr. Eret," The guard says giving a slight bow before taking his contingent of guards responsible for the interrogation rooms away.
With that, I leave with Eret, heading to the jail cells as he calls for a transport bus from VC. There we pick up Hunter. "I am assuming by the code she gave, you must be him or him," Eret says, not giving names.
"You would be right, and I would like to press charges on the police who arrested me and the people stealing from me. As last I checked, people are allowed to defend their business with guns if threatened, and force them out with guns if needed," Hunter replies.
"Ah, then you are the mysterious CEO of Dragon Incorperated. Must say that I am surprised that they would be so young," Eret replies.
"Alot can happen when you spend your life on computers and then disappearing from the world. You can come back and create something completely new. Works especially well when you have died twice," Hunter says casually. I go up and give him a hug and he responds with the same gesture.
Shortly after a bus arrives and all the prisoners are loaded on, us included. Though we are put in a different section so we don't get into a fight or anything. We arrive shortly after in VC, there we are lead to the office overlooking Berk as the others are processed.
"I will need you to turn over any weapons you may have on you, just routine inspection for all," Eret says, pulling out a tray.
"Might as well get a bigger one," I say. I then grab from the inside of my boots a selection of throwing knives, small miniature guns under my arms, 20 needles hidden over my body, and a small katana hidden in my long hair tied behind my back.
"I see," Eret says scratching his cheek, surprised. Hunter has a similar amount of weapons.
We head up and on the way Gobber joins us, though doesn't recognize us other than from last night from the looks of things. "Why are you here?," Is all he asks.
"The police arrested us for defending his store and my products," I respond.
"I see, I se—... Wait, WHAT?!," Gobber says, his jaw dropping to the ground and the fake tooth falling out. He grumbles, grabs it, and knocks it back in using the hammer that is currently attacked to his left arm.
"But that still isn't warrant enough for Eret to Drag you here," Gobber adds after it is put back in.
"They used a code which overrides my orders and I cannot inform anyone about it," Eret replies.
"But there are only around 45 of those, 7 of those belonging to people missing, 23 to people outside the archipelago, and the remaining 15 to our knowledge are not on Berk, at least, they shouldn't be. We aren't exactly allowed to know locations of them after the incident over 3 years ago. So they are assigned an agent who makes updates every month from a random location," Gobber mumbles.
