I look at my parents and smile at them. My mother is crying while my father is trying his hardest to make her stop crying to no avail.
"You don't need to cry, mother. I will call you every week"
"No! I want you to call me every day! No! Every five hours! No! Three hours! No! You don't need to go!"
I can only smile awkwardly and let my father calm her down. After a couple of minutes of sweet talk and other things, my father managed to make her stop crying. He then looks at me and says.
"Take care of yourself, son. Always remember that you have a home to return to and a family that wants to see you alive and healthy."
"Of course, father."
"Then go. Spread your wings and make sure to make a name for yourself."
"Yes. See you later, father."
After a minute of saying goodbye and hugging my parents, I started my journey. My first destination? Toba city.
~A moment later~
After a few hours of driving, I arrived in Toba City and saw the massive hotel on the edge of the city where the Tarakan Guild was located.
I decided to walk to the Tarakan Hotel and get inside the building. I can see many people; most are normal people without any mana or spiritual energy inside their bodies. I can feel a few, maybe a dozen at most, Youkai in this building.
By the look of it, they are workers of this place or maybe an assassin.
I approach the receptionist and say.
"Good morning"
"Good morning to you, sir. What can we do for you, sir?"
"I want a room for… seven days."
"Of course. Can I have your ID?"
I give him what he needs for a room, and after a couple of minutes, I get the key to my room. I quickly go to my room and release a sigh. What now? I don't think I want to go and quickly register as an assassin. I need to test my power first.
However, I need to ensure no bugs in this room and know who is the perfect person to do it. I take a deep breath and say.
"Sombra."
A second later, I can feel my body change. I'm now wearing a purple jacket and long purple pants. I can feel the implant on my back that goes through into my left hand. I smile a little and make a sweeping motion. A hologram appears in front of me a second later, and it is a supercomputer that the people of this era drool to obtain.
I blink a little at this revelation. Does my power go with game logic or by lore logic? I frown a little and decide to test something.
"Winston"
After saying that, my body changed into something that did not resemble a human. I'm now a gorilla.
However, this gorilla is a special kind of gorilla. When I possess Winston, I can feel a rush of knowledge and ideas rushing into my brain. I have a lot of blueprints inside my head that can make incredible items.
However, many of them are around bananas and peanut butter for some reason.
This proves my theory. My power lets me use the knowledge of the character I possess. I can make a permanent item that will help me in my job while I possess other heroes. For example, I can use Sombra to infiltrate some places and bring a Biotic Emitter that Soldier: 76 has for an emergency situation or maybe Tracer's Pulse Bomb for an extra oomph in my attack.
And Winston knows how to make them and even upgrade them! Sadly, he is too kind in the lore to make that kind of weapon because it can be destructive.
Winston can make many things, and I'm excited to make them as a lot of the material is available in the market of the current era.
I shake my head and stop my thought. I need to focus on the current problem. I quickly switched back to Sombra and connected to this building wifi. It takes only a minute for me to get inside their hidden system and notice that every room has a hidden camera.
I look at the nearby vase and raise my left hand. A second later, a few lines came out of my left, and a second later, I gained control over the hidden camera.
I make a sweeping motion and open my Sombra's personal computer. I decided to dive deeply into their system and explore it for ten minutes. I learn a lot in ten minutes. This branch of the Tarakan Guild has information on all of the higher-ups in Japan.
From their favorite food to their deepest darkest secret that should not go to the public. What makes it even more interesting is that there is information about the people on the Other Side of the World.
The Tarakan Guild even has information about the Five Principle Clan. Interesting. I get deeper, and I find information about assassins that join them. It looks like they rank the assassin based on how dangerous they are.
S-rank is the most dangerous, and F-rank is the least dangerous.
There are only two S-rank assassins in Japan from the Tarakan Guild, and they are very elusive to the point that there are only a few pieces of information inside the Tarakan system about them. I shake my head and decide to leave that kind of information alone for now.
For now, I need to join the guild. I already know the entrance to the other side of the hotel where the assassin and spy are getting together, and now, which person should I use to register? After thinking for a few seconds, I know which one I should use.
~An hour later~
I walk toward the receptionist of the Dark Side of the Tarakan Hotel while possessing Reaper. I chose him because he moves silently while wearing heavy armor and carrying a pair of shotguns. Not only that, but he also can get away in case something goes awry.
As I get inside, I can feel at least a dozen pairs of eyes looking at me. The people might look like they are ignoring me, but I know they are cautiously watching me. I can see one of them reaching for her gun on her tight.
I ignored them and arrived in front of the receptionist.
I look at the middle-aged man and say.
"I want to register."
