Chapter 4

The process took me only a short time. It only takes a minute, and I now own the Tarakan Contractor Card.

"And that is all. Do you want me to guide you through the mission section?"

"Of course."

The man nods and calls another person to replace him behind the desk. He then takes me to the next room on the left, where I can see many computers waiting for me.

"This is the mission hall. You can put your card on the scanner next to the computer, and there will be a list of missions inside the computer. Take the mission you can, as failure is not something we want. The punishment for failure is quite… severe."

I can see him grin at me and release quite a bit of killing intent. I keep myself from showing anything and see him turn down his killing intent.

"Once you finish your mission, you can send the proof via photo or video. We like it if you keep them short and direct, but some clients want them long and detailed if you know what I mean."

After saying that, he made a motion with his hand to ask me to test the computer. I nod, put my card into the scanner, and see my ID and username already logged into the computer. I can see a lot of missions appear in front of me. I can see information gathering, kidnapping, and murder on the list.

"As you can see, we did not only dwell in murder. Some of our clients want information, which we will provide. However, unlike the more… rewarding mission, this kind of mission has a quicker deadline but less punishing in case you fail to do so."

I look at the list and see that each Information Gathering mission has a deadline of one week at maximum and one day at the fastest.

"The guild will offer you a special kind of mission if you reach a certain… infamy. You can reject them, but we hope you will accept them when we offer you that mission. We will guarantee that the reward will be satisfactory."

I nod, and we are back to the hotel's main lobby.

"And that is all. Do you want to take the mission now or later?"

"Later"

"Of course. Do enjoy our accommodation."

I nod and walk out of the main lobby. When I know I'm alone, I quickly turn into smoke and enter an empty alley, where I change into Sombra. I go invisible and walk back to the mundane Tarakan Hotel.

Before I change, I quickly check if I get caught by the camera in this area. Seeing none, I release a relieved breath and disable my power.

The reason why I did not take any mission just yet is because I need to train. I know I cannot use Onmyoudou in my side job as it will connect me to my clan, and they will start snooping around.

I also need to make sure to make a name for myself, not only for my other identity. I hate having two identities.

I shake my head and start to think about what I can do next. I have six more days in this place… what should I do? Right! I can utilize the Tarakan Guild to gather enough material to make some tech to help me in my mission.

I guess I can take two or three missions. How about an information-gathering mission? Sombra is great at this kind of mission. Let's do that.

|3rd POV|

"Sir Arita, we have someone who wants to set a mission."

"Hmmm?"

A middle-aged man with short black hair. He is wearing an expensive suit that hides his muscles. To mundane people, he looks like a healthy middle-aged man who works for a high-end company.

They did not know that he was a former assassin that decided to work directly for the Tarakan Guild.

"And why did you come to me? We have a procedure when someone wants to post a mission in our guild."

"This one is special, sir. Please look at it."

The man sighs and looks at the data the young woman sent him. He read the request and nodded in understanding. This is a special kind of order that only high-ranking staff like him should handle.

"A large amount of material, eh? We can do that."

Getting a lot of material in real life needs a lot of permits from the local government. Even then, it did not guarantee you could get them. You need to pay them quite a lot of money for that permit, and not only that, the tax for that amount of material will be huge as well.

Many criminal bosses want to make an underground lair that stores all their illegal goods, and where do they get the material to build them? The Black Market.

"How much money did they put in for the first payment?"

"They are willing to pay half first and half later."

"Hmmm, that is good."

The man looks at the request on his computer for a few seconds, and clicks accept. He then put the amount of money needed to be transferred to the Tarakan and clicked send.

He blinks for a few seconds when he notices another notification appears on his computer a few seconds later. It was a notification of money coming in from their client.

"That is fast."

He looks at the amount and nods when he sees one hundred million yen appear. He looks at the young woman sending him this notice and says.

"Inform the Transport Squad. They need to smuggle some material from the branch overseas. Also, I sent someone to buy a chunk of Tokushima Island. Someone is insane enough to make a base on that cursed island."

"Of course, sir. What kind of material should they get first?"

"The hardest one, Uranium"

On the other side of the city, Kazuma smiles when the Tarakan Guild accepts his request. Getting money in this era with the help of Sombra's ability is easy. Taking a dollar's worth of money from every bank account in Japan without them knowing is easy.

This amount of money will be the foundation for his mission. He doesn't want to make a habit of stealing from people who are not in the same business as him, but this is a must. Anyway, a dollar is not a lot and will not be missed by them, especially by someone with a lot of money to spare.

He can safely make something inside his hotel room with the land taken care of. Kazuma smiles a little at the electronic part in front of him. He cannot make much now but can make the basics first.

Kazuma changes into Winston and starts to make a blueprint for his first project.

"First thing first, Om-Metal. The metal that makes Omnic the base ingredient for all armor and weapons in the Overwatch universe."
