Chapter 19 Reasonable explanation

Jing Yue was scolding himself all the way until he reached his room and sat on the bed.

He couldn't imagine what and how she might be thinking of him right now. She might think that he was the worst of all men in the world. Remembering how she told him about her previous boss, he assumed that she might think he was the same or even worse.

But aside from that, he couldn't divert his mind from thinking about what he saw. He had never taken time to look at her and right now, he couldn't deny the fact that she was attractive.

But before that, he had to come up with a reasonable explanation and a proper way to make it up to her.

He later got up then went to the shower and on coming back, he slipped inside the covers of the bed. Closing his eyes, he couldn't sleep even after a long time. His mind kept flashing the images he had seen earlier. He still remembered every curve of her body, her smooth skin and her round breasts...

What was he thinking?!

He couldn't tell if she was that attractive or because he had been celibate for more than four years.

In the morning, Tang Ning woke up and she sat on the bed then leaned against the headrest.

She didn't have a good sleep at all. She had been thinking on what to do. Perhaps all male bosses had a jerk side in them, she thought. Should she quit the job? But if she quits the job then how will she afford the house expenses? And perhaps, she really liked the twins.

She wondered if she should seek advise from Daiyu but, Mr Jing Yue was a respectable man and she didn't want to ruin that. She sighed not knowing what to do next.

When she recalled that today is a weekend, she wondered if he is going to work. She decided that she wasn't going to leave her room if he's around. For a person like her who wasn't used to exposing her legs, she couldn't take the thought that he had seen almost everything.

At around ten, Jing Yue decided to come down for breakfast. Reaching the dining room, he realized that it was empty and he doubted that Tang Ning had already eaten her breakfast. As the maid was serving him, he asked," Uh, at what time does Ms Tang Ning come to eat breakfast?" "It is usually around eight sir," she replied and he nodded.

"Did she eat already?" he asked. She shook her head and said, "I will check on her."

Going to her room, she knocked on the door and a while later, she came to open. "Good morning Ms Tang Ning," she greeted. "Good morning," she greeted back.

"I was informing you that breakfast is ready," she said. "Oh thank you. Uh, is Mr Jing Yue home?" she asked almost in a whisper.

"Yes. He's currently in the dining room," she replied and she pursed her lips. "Alright. Uh, would you please bring it for me here?" she asked.

"Alright," she replied. "Thank you so much," she said before closing the door.

After delivering her breakfast, she walked to the boss and said," I have taken the breakfast to her room." "Did she ask that?" he asked. "Yes," she replied.

After the breakfast, Jing Yue went back to his room, stressed. It was apparent and evident that she was avoiding him. He would have gone and apologised but it was clear that she didn't want to see him. Not knowing what to do, he got his phone and called someone.

After a few rings, she picked up. "Li Fei, how are you doing?" he asked. "I'm alright. Did you call to ask about the twins?"

"Yes. How are they?" he asked. "Very excited. We are going for a picnic. You want to talk to them?"

"No not now. I actually called to ask you something," he said.

"Ask then." "Uh, what can I gift a lady I wronged as a way of saying sorry?"

"Wronged? Well, it depends. What did you do?" "It something very bad that I don't wish to go into details," he spoke. "Alright but it would have been better if I understood the gravity of the situation. Anyway, what's her style? Is she rich, elegant or simple?"

"I don't know much about her but I think she's simple," he replied.

"Alright. First of all, you have to own your mistake and ask for forgiveness before anything else. Now the gifts... simple ladies want things like flowers, chocolates, teddy bears and others in that category. I have to go now because the kids can't wait any longer. Bye," she said hurriedly before hanging up.

After the call, he had gotten an idea and grabbed his jacket and keys before leaving the room.

After the breakfast, Tang Ning went back to bed and she didn't know when she was taken by sleep. It was around noon when she woke up and looked at the wall clock. Sitting on the bed, her phone started ringing and she refused to pick up since it was Feng Shufen.

She looked at the plates she had used for breakfast and she got off the bed. Opening the door, she peeked outside and found no one around. Luckily after sometime, a maid passed by and she stopped her. "Hey, how are you doing?" "I'm alright," she replied. "Is Mr Jing Yue in his room?" she asked.

"No," she replied. "Where's he?" she asked. "He left. He might have gone to work," she replied.

"Really?" she asked. "Yes. Please excuse me," she said before leaving.

She got the plates and took them to the kitchen. After taking a glassful of water, she left the kitchen and walked back to her room but before she could open the door, she heard," Ms Tang Ning." She paused in her actions and turned to see her boss, the person she has been avoiding. She tore her gaze away from him and looked at the other person standing next to him who held a big gift box.
