FAREWELL... MY FRIENDS (3)

Rixa cleaned the tears off her face and cleared her throat before directing her words at Scarlet.

"Scarlet, how did you know there was going to be a second attempt?" Rixa asked.

Scarlet immediately went silent because she knew that the answer to that question would lead to another revelation that no one knew about. It was a deed that she had been carrying out for so long that she never thought it was wrong or shameful until now.

Her silence, followed by the bow of her head was an indication to everyone that she had something to hide. So, Rixa decided to probe further.

"Scarlet, I ask again…how did you know there was going to be a second attempt?!" Rixa inquired with her voice increasing earlier than before.

Scarlet snickered and chuckled softly to the ears of everyone with her head still down. This action of hers became an amusement to the others. What was so funny about the question asked?

"Scarlet, why are you laughing?!" Martha asked.

"Rixa just asked you a question, answer it!" she added.

"I don't even get what is so funny about the question asked!" Drey commented.

Scarlet alone knew the reason why she laughed. She was imagining their facial expressions when she would tell them the truth.

"Scarlet, look at me!" Rixa commanded her but she didn't comply.

"Look at me when I am talking to you or else I'll have you answer this question in the presence of Ragnar Nova!" Rixa warned.

Scarlet slowly raised her head up to look at Rixa. The mention of Ragnar was a fear to her and it actually worked. She didn't want to put another person in trouble because of her actions. What intrigued Rixa the most was how fast their conversation changed. From them being sad about the approaching deaths to them wanting to know what Scarlet was hiding.

"Scarlet, I will ask you for the last time…how did you know of the second attempt?!" Rixa directed her question at her staring into the eyeballs of Scarlet while she stared back.

There was a difference between both stares…one was full of fear and the other was commanding.

"I have something to tell you." Scarlet started off.

"Is it in line with the question I asked?" Rixa inquired while the others listened attentively to what was about to go down.

"It is the answer to the question." Scarlet quivered to answer.

"Say it then." Rixa urged her.

Scarlet braces herself up for what she was about to say. She breathed in and out and in one go, she let it all out.

"I have been sleeping with our commandant!" Scarlet hurriedly said.

It took a minute for the sentence to sink into the minds of Drey, Rixa and Martha and for them to be able to assimilate and comprehend what Scarlet had just said, it took them another minute.

Those two minutes were the worst two minutes of Scarlet's life because she was in a dilemma. Her thoughts were running wild on what they would say and why they were taking so long. She covered her mouth with her hands immediately she said the words due to fear and shame. She was so anxious of what they would say that it was slowly melting her inside.

"What?!!!" They all said in unison after understanding her words.

"You have got to be playing me!" Drey uttered.

"Are you serious?!" Rixa asked as they all stared at Scarlet with expectant faces.

"Mhmm-hmn" Scarlet answered as she nodded with her hand still over her mouth.

"Wow!!!"

"No way!"

"I can't believe it!"

Martha, Drey and Rixa all said in unison respectively. The truth was shocking to them.

"It might not be as bad as we think. It might not even be what we think everyone" Martha started off while the others nodded, thinking that she might be heading onto something.

"When you say sleeping, do you mean like sleeping next to each other because you see him as a father to you. You know, father-daughter relationship?" Martha let out.

Drey nodded his head in support of what Martha just said while Rixa only listened.

"Yeahhhh, it might not even be what we think. They might just be spending time with each other because they care about each other in a brotherly-sisterly way too!" Drey added.

"Yes, just like that!" Martha said.

"Exactly like that!" Drey also said as they both nodded their heads.

"Is it exactly like that?" Rixa asked.

"Absolutely not!" Scarlet replied as she removed her hands from her mouth and placed them on top of the table.

"Oh well.." Martha said in surprise.

"There goes out theories and explanations!" Drey added.

"Then what is it like?" Drey asked.

"We have been having sexual intercourse with each other." Scarlet told them.

"I knew it! I knew it! I just knew it!" Martha let out.

Drey and Rixa both looked at themselves before they muttered

"So did we!"

"How has this been going on and we never once suspected you!" Martha asked.

"Because I am smart!" Scarlet remarked.

"Which commandant have you been sleeping with?" Rixa asked the obvious that they all wanted to know.

"Commandant Ryzza." Scarlet answered.

Commandant Ryzza was the leader in charge of Vallians batch number two. Just like Commandant Valair was in charge of batch number one, so was Ryzza. Ryzza was a gamma with features like that of an angel and a god mixed together. He was as beautiful as one could think of. Sometimes words were not enough to describe his beauty or handsomeness. He had gotten so many nicknames like; The Handsome Commandant, Commandant Nightingale, Commandant Darling, The Angel among Others, Everything beautiful, Commandant Heaven, Son of the Mother Moon…

"What?!!!" The trio both screamed again in unison.

"Isn't that the commandant heaven?" Rixa asked.

"Yes he is. The son of the Mother Moon commandant!" Drey answered.

"The Angel among Others!!!" Martha let out.

"The Handsome Commandant!!!" The trio said in unison.

"Yes, Yes, Yes and Yes!" Scarlet answered as she pointed at each of them.

"Wow, you really hit the jackpot!" Drey remarked.

"He was everyone's crush. We each had to crush on him and let go but when it came to your turn, you made it into a love affair!" Martha commented.

"Does he even love you?" Rixa asked.

"Yes, he does. Very much" Scarlet answered.

"And how do you know that?" Rixa asked further.

"Because he had marked me to be his." Scarlet said as she proceeded to turn around. She raised her hair up to reveal what looked like a bite mark at the back of her neck.

"Yup, that is an official marking!" Martha said as Scarlet let her hair down and turned back.

"Does it hurt?" Drey asked.

"At first it did, but with time, it just became a mark and nothing more so it doesn't hurt." Scarlet replied.

"When did this whole love affair start?" Rixa asked.
