CHAPTER 55

"Grandpa!"

When Penelope's feet touch the ground, she quickly rushes toward her grandpa who is now sitting on his bed. His upper body is leaning on the bed frame while his legs are in a relaxed posture as the healer beside him doing his best to lessen the swelling around his injured leg. When Duke Harrison hears his granddaughter, he looks at her with a small smile. The duke put his hand on top of her head when she reaches his bed and stood anxiously beside him.

"Grandpa, are you hurt?" the little girl asked. Her worried voice is also laced with fear and anxiousness.

"Grandpa is alright." Duke Harrison said while trying to make his tone lighter than before.

"But grandpa's leg..."

Penelope looks at his injured leg. The butler didn't say that her grandfather's leg is still swollen red. Penelope feels like it will burst open if a sharp object pokes it because of the swelling. It must hurt a lot but her grandpa is just enduring the pain.
