Message II (7)

A shuriken. And it was bloodstained.

"Veronica" he called again, afraid of what she may do. Was she crazy?

"What have I done to you Derek?" she murmured.

"Talk what I can hear" he said, sounding rude.

She looked up, and gave him a deadly stare. The stare carried the heavy stench of blood.

"No one escapes life alive" she started. Well, that was a sad truth.

" Yes. So what does that have to do with me?"

" Are you asking me that question! After all you've done to me? "

?? Derek was confused. What was her point?

" You took my husband and daughter from me, and you're still asking what have you done to me? "

" I didn't. I'm not responsible for your situation. It's the killer's fault that you're in this situation, not and never me! "

She let out a shrill laughter, which confirmed Derek's thought. She was mind controlled.

" Don't you ever think you'll go free. Don't even hope for heaven!" she screamed.

He wasn't paying attention. He was looking possible hints the killer must've left behind. He was sure that it was the killer that was manipulating her mind.

" I may not be able to make your life on earth a living hell, but I promise you something "

At that point, he felt the presence of another. Someone just entered the ward. Either through the door, or through the window, but he couldn't deny that feeling.

He looked around, trying to get a lead.

" In the life beyond, I'll be waiting for you at the dark side. Dare hope not to see heaven"

That last sentence was registered in his subconscious.

Slash

The shuriken she held entered her chest and she dropped dead. He was right.

"Security!" he screamed. Almost immediately, they entered the ward, with their guns, ready to fire.

The window ledge made a creek sound, which his sensitive ear picked.

"Send your men downstairs. We need to catch the killer!"

Immediately, he ran and jumped out through window.

One hundred percent right. The killer was still dusting himself from the dust. His face was masked with an artificial skin, that made him look blurry.

"You!" he screamed. His eyes opened in surprise. He didn't expect Derek to know that he was here. Immediately, he made a sprint and dashed towards the exit of the hospital environment.

The two displayed insane parkour skills as each one tried to grab or outrun each other. It ended in Derek favor, as the killer missed a step, and the duo rolled upon each other.

"Why are you doing this? Who are you?! Talk now or you're dead!" he screamed, holding the killer by the neck.

"I'm sure your memories still remember those innocent blood you've shed"

"Yes I do. That's my guilt, and if you have to revenge, it's on me, not on innocent lives!"

The killer chuckled. An evil laughter.

" That's the point Derek. I'm taking my revenge on you. By letting you feel the pain first"

" But, they're innocent " he pleaded. " You can't because of one destroy a thousand"

" Yes. That's the point. Unfortunately I don't have time to explain "

Boom!

A smoke bomb which was under timer exploded, pushing Derek metres away. Swiftly, he got up, but the killer had escaped.

...

The door was open, something that wasn't meant to be.

"Hey, who opened this!" he asked. His gatemen didn't respond. Fear gripped him. Had the killer reached his house? He found the answer as he entered the house. Blood stains everywhere.

There was this scent of death that loomed around the area. His fear turned to anger.

"Nora! Tony!"

No response. Just the blood of his bodyguards. He ran quickly upstairs, each step he took, he became weaker. Then in his room.

Everywhere was scattered. It could be that Nora or Tony put up a fight when they were attacked. And he could smell their blood. He looked around frantically, using his sense of smell as a lead.

"Looking for bodies?" It was the killer.
