The Dungeon! Part-1

{Black Cottage, England}

{07:36 PM, 4th June, 1988}

"...Daniel put that down and eat your food," Lily shouted at her son from her seat at the other end of the table, the Potter household was lively as always, Rigel and Sirius normally have dinner here every day, Rigel wasn't sure it was because Sirius was just lazy and didn't wanna cook, or maybe it had something to with the fact that he wanted him to have a sense of normalcy after being 'uprooted' from his 'home' in the orphanage.

Whatever the reason maybe he wasn't complaining right now he was more focused on finding out ways to level up. The way this world was set up was a bit weird, everything except for him made it seem like it was a real world, a world that had a population of millions of people, like an alternate reality. His existence was like an anomaly, the gamer system or whatever he had was something that didn't seem to fit in this reality.

'The inventory alone is broken, it's the ultimate stealing hack, if I get a chance to sneak into Hogwart's restricted section or the library in the Black Manor, I could just sneak out all the books that I like.'

Rigel's inventory was 10x10, so he could potentially sneak around with 100 books or items, but the inventory wasn't the only thing that was on his mind, he was interested in a gamer's best friend, a Dungeon.

While there were many features that he didn't have, Rigel was pretty sure that there should be Dungeons scattered around the world, if he had to level up by just grinding spells monotonously then it would just be a pain and impractical. Rigel still hasn't explored anywhere so there was no way for him to come to a conclusion.

"Rigel?" He looked up to find James talking to him, he sat directly in front of him so he must have seen him being unfocused.

"Yeah?" He asked, the big family scene entirely wasn't his thing, he preferred to be alone with his thoughts, and now that he had access to magic, that tendency was magnified.

"You okay you look a little lost?" He noticed the conversation across the table softened.

"Yeah," he nodded awkwardly before avoiding his gaze, he was a little antisocial anyway so there was no need for him to reply to James just to keep the conversation flowing.

{Sirius's POV}

The kids were all huddled around the living room, Rose was huddled together with Harry like always, a book on fairytales wedged between them, Daniel and Neville were off to their room, probably planning a new prank, and Rigel was digging himself into the sofa, he was holding today's newspaper intently looking at the moving pictures.

Even from this far away, Sirius could feel the isolation between the three people, Sirius didn't blame Harry and Rose, Rigel was a little intense. He sneaked a peak into his room earlier today and he was staring somewhere absentmindedly.

"He reminds me of Remus you know," James's voice interrupted his inner monologue. Both friends shared a soft smile, remembering the good old days.

"Have you tried locating him," Lily asked.

"Yeah, he is somewhere in Romania, working on the road or something like that," James replied as Sirius sighed. The once untouchable group now lay in shatters after the war, Remus left before the war even ended, and the order was pretty sure there was a spy within their ranks, and once they started to exclude Remus from the group, the number of ambushes they faced did die down.

Although it was never confirmed, Sirius always had a feeling that their hunch was wrong and the spy just stopped providing information letting Remus take the blame. By the time he wanted to do something about it, the war suddenly ended with Voldemort attacking the Longbottoms and Remus was gone after that.

Both he and James tried to reach out to him multiple times but it was never the same. Peter on the other hand was busy being a solicitor, he was enjoying his life and doing pretty good with himself. He was always around when the cameras were there, he was the Hero's Uncle after all, but other than that he was pretty busy doing his own thing.

That's why it was a bit weird when he mentioned something about coming to visit soon, there was still some time for Neville's birthday gala so he surely was pretty early this time.

He looked back at Rigel as he flipped to another page, he was a little worried about how isolated the kid was, he never took the initiative to ask for anything other than that one time when he asked to look into the library.

"Do you think he would be okay? In Hogwarts?" Sirius asked.

"Yeah," it was surprisingly Lily who replied, he turned towards her with a questioning look and she rolled her eyes at the two clueless idiots, "Just because you both dumbasses have been surrounded by magic all your life you can't think how surreal one's first interaction with magic could be."

"Look at him, he's looking at the moving pictures, in the muggle world, the newspaper doesn't have moving pictures, and you mentioned that he performed his first spell today too right, he's just fascinated by the possibilities right now, just let him adjust at his own pace, he'll be fine."

Sirius nodded and it made sense to him a little after Lily explained it to him, "Do you think we could take a trip to the muggle, what was it called, thatere?" He asked.

Lily brightened up at that suggestion, "Yes, we haven't been out in so long, and maybe it would help Rigel adjust too."

The three of them started whispering soon and a plan quickly formed, Lily wanted to visit her sister, Petunia and they lived rather close to London, so they could first visit there, and while Lily stayed behind the rest of the gang could go watch a movie or something.

"So should we go tomorrow? it's Sunday so we're both free, plus the kids might like a nice surprise," James gave a suggestion, and the plan was quickly approved. Lily hurried up to her room to do Merlin knows what as Sirius and James went back to chatting about the new case of the missing shop that was pretty popular in the Auror department.
