The woman gestured to a row of cushions near a wall. Hesitantly, Xiajun went ahead and sat down on one of them, the tassels digging into his rear. He bent his knees awkwardly to maximize space inside the cramped compartment, looking from side to side.
"You aren't one of our usual clients," the woman commented, her voice as smooth as velvet. Xiajun cleared his throat, uncomfortable in her presence. "But not to worry, we're just the right place for you! Would you like to book for a few hours, or the whole night, perhaps?"
Xiajun shook his head. "Bring me Minnie."
The woman blinked, as if she had not heard right. "M-Minnie? Oh. Oh, well. . ." She ducked her head, glancing nervously every now and then at the farthest wall, which appeared to be fully draped with a red curtain. Xiajun raised his eyebrows as the woman stuttered. "The Madame isn't here at the moment, but we've got a lot of other beautiful women to pick from. Would you like to see-"
