"I was dead... I should've been! But I was suddenly woken up in another place. Or should I say another world for this one." A breathtaking lady clad in lightning and stunning violet garments appeared before me, easily catching my attention. Her crazed smile is a bit unnerving though... "Darling!" She called out and jumped in my arms. (Excuse me, lady! But who the hell are you?!!!) The MC will be revealed after the prologue. (Sasayuri's POV)
'This is a failure, I never expected something like this to happen.' I thought after seeing Chiyo leave. Chiyo is definitely strong, stronger than me even, but she got the wrong opponent this time. She wasn't able to use all her strength in a closed space as she would only damage herself by doing it, and the strange energy sped up her oni's madness.
I should focus on the situation first. For now, I'll only pray that she can come back to us. I looked at my friends who witnessed the situation with me. Makoto is shocked and pale while Orihime is completely silent.
"Don't blame yourself Makoto. This isn't your fault, there was no other options available." I quickly told the guilty-looking archon.
"But! I'm the one who gave the orders!" she exclaimed with tears in her eyes.
"Calm yourself down, we should focus on fixing the situation first so we can help her faster." I hugged the poor girl and waited for her to calm down.
"Do you have any idea of what caused this incident?" I immediately asked her, after noticing her breath became stable.
"It should be related to Khanrei'ah! I saw those wolf monsters that Dainsleif talked to me about among them!" she hurriedly answered, as she remembered something.
While I was contemplating the situation, Makoto suddenly looked shocked and froze. Without saying anything, she flew away from us. Taking a second to realize what had happened, I approached the silent kitsune.
"Orihime! I'll leave this place to you and Ei, something is wrong with Makoto! There are only a few monsters left, but I'll order Yoshitsune to come here just in case!" I quickly told her, in which she only nodded in response. After that, I immediately flew to catch up with Makoto.
--------------------------------------------------------------
I don't know how long I'd been flying when I came upon a burning kingdom. I already have an idea about what happened to Makoto, as I have plenty of time to think. Looking around, I saw someone I recognized and immediately landed next to him.
"Dainsleif! What happened here?!" I questioned the wounded man. Some parts of him, already corrupted.
"An accident during an experiment which opened a path to the abyss. And those gods you call Archons joining in the fray!" answered Dainsleif, saying the latter with rage.
"Don't cast your hatred to the wrong enemy Dainsleif! Its those gnoses given by Celestia, that are currently controlling them against their will, at fault! And like you said, this is nothing but an unfortunate accident." I shouted, to calm the knight. I scanned the area, only to see a weakened Makoto in the sky.
"Help me Dainsleif!" I pleaded with my closest male friend.
"Are you stupid?! The abyssal energy is at its strongest there! The only reason I survived is because I was able to get away quickly! The others unfortunately didn't make it and turned into monsters!" reprimanded Dainsleif, with mixed emotions.
"I know that of course, but delivering our beloved Archon back to Inazuma is a fitting final task for me to carry out." I said with my usual carefree smirk. I stared at the conflicted Dainsleif and waited for his answer.
"Hurry up! Dainsleif!" I shouted as I saw Makoto fall from the sky.
"You better not haunt me for this, Sasayuri." said the knight solemnly, before gathering every strength he had in his arms.
"Of course not, Haha! Being a ghost ain't my thing!" I replied, then stepped into his arms. Which he then threw me to Makoto with everything he had.
Finding Makoto in the distance, I used my wings to fly straight towards her. Noticing one of my wings getting corrupted by abyssal energy, I quickly cut it off my back. Gritting my teeth from the pain, I catched the falling Makoto, and immediately flew back straight to Inazuma.
On the way there, I separated two more of my wings before the abyssal energy reached my back. Using my remaining wing, I flew with all I have to Inazuma while cutting the parts of my body that are getting corrupted. Understanding we wouldn't make it before my body crumbles, I thought, with everything I have on what I can do.
I suddenly remembered something, hearing a familiar sound. I trusted my instincts and moved my body. Using my electro vision, I drew what looked like a red circle symbol in the air. After adding a few finishing touches, I mustered all my energy to activate it.
--------------------------------------------------------------
(Ei's POV)
After killing all the monsters inside the rift, I left to check the situation. Going out, I saw Orihime and Yoshitsune fighting the few monsters remaining. I immediately approached the kitsune to ask about what happened when I was gone.
"Where are the others Orihime?" I questioned the silent Kitsune Saiguu.
"Chiyo came out from a monster's stomach, and with the few sanity she has left, she ran away from us. Makoto said that this incident is related to Khanrei'ah, then suddenly flew in that direction while Sasayuri followed her." she said weakly, but enough for me to hear, before pointing her fingers to a spot.
"I'll follow them and bring them back! The monsters are all almost gone, but be careful Orihime!" I replied, after thinking for a bit about what happened.
I hurriedly flew away to the direction she pointed with everything I had. If I'm not wrong, Makoto and Sasayuri should've gone to Khanrei'ah. I cleared my head from what Orihime said about Chiyo, and focused on finding them.
After flying for a while, I saw somebody in the sky above the sea and immediately approached them. What I saw was ingrained in my mind forever. A crumbling Sasayuri with one wing and one hand carrying a sleeping Makoto.
"Oh, If it isn't Ei! Can you carry your sister for me? She's too heavy for an old tengu like me." he said with his usual smirk as I approached.
"What happened to you?! Wait a minute, Dont move! Let me heal your wounds-" I hurriedly said, while panicking on their state. But before I finished my words, he shut my mouth with his lips.
"Think of this as an advance payment, focus on your sister for now. If you really want me back, then all you need to do is get enough energy to resurrect me. My soul is quite strong after all, it should remain in this world for a while." he said with a gentle smile as he separated from me, while giving me Makoto. I was stunned until I saw his body disintegrate to fall into the sea.
---------------------------------------------------------------
I went back to Inazuma with the sleeping Makoto, still stunned about what had happened. Going to Mt. Yougou, I saw a tired Yoshitsune and a fading Orihime. In front of them are a bunch of monsters coming from the rift. I dropped to the fading Orihime hurriedly with Makoto in tow.
"What happened here Orihime?!" I asked quickly to the weakened Kitsune Saiguu.
"I don't know what he did, but Urakusai reopened the rift! I have no choice but to use everything I have." answered the kitsune, while her body started to disappear.
"You too?! Are you leaving me too Orihime?!" I shouted with tears in my eyes.
"Don't worry about me Ei, I prepared a vessel for me with the help of Sasayuri a long time ago just in case something like this happened. Though I guess, I would lose a lot of my strength as the result." she said with a wry smile.
"Find little Miko, I've been training her personally so she should suffice for my absence." she continued before fading away.
I don't remember much after that as I flew into rage to destroy every monster. If there's anything I can recall, then it was a sakura petal dropping down from the Narukami Shrine.
I woke up to see everything over already. There are a lot of casualties after such a disaster, the biggest one being the three yokai clans. I announced the death of the old tengu, the Kitsune Saiguu, and how the oni leader left to prevent herself from attacking Inazuma, while of course hiding the fact about my sister. I secluded myself in Tenshukaku, while starting my preparations.
'You can't get away from me. I wouldn't let you. You will take responsibility for making me like this.'
'For Eternity'

(???'s POV)
I woke up to hear the news about the disaster.
'Eh?! He died?! How?! Why?! Lies! All of this are nothing but lies! There's no way he would possibly die! He wouldn't-' I stopped my thoughts, as I suddenly felt something break inside me.
'No! Even if he died, knowing Ei she would do something. She definitely would, after seeing all those puppets around him every time I sneaked into Kannazuka.'
'He will come back, I'm sure of it! Then by that time, he would pet me again like before, and tell me his stories.'
Imagining such a moment, I couldn't help but laugh. I laughed hysterically, not noticing my crazed expression.
Flashback ends here. For the next one, I'll reveal the mc with just a small story before he gets ressurected. Didn't expect it to reach 1.5k words since I shortened it as much as I can. Enjoy!
