The Prodigy

The supreme leader called for a meeting with the high-ranking officials in the village or their clan. They are the ones who implement rules and decide for the sake of the village. There are only a hundred people in their clan and just like what Emily said, she's the only one left with power.

"I'm glad you all came," the supreme leader said the moment the officials sat on their designated seats. Just like him, they are elders and are most likely the eldest people of the village that is why they are trusted with their position.

They are in the meeting room with a long table that is enough for ten people. The supreme leader is sitting in the middle corner of the table while an old woman and an old man are sitting on his right side and another two old men on his left.

"We know why you called us here," the old woman said with a serious look on her face.

"And we already know what you are going to tell us," the old man on his left said. "And we disagree."

The supreme leader let out a long sigh and replied, "I know you would say that. But I'd still want you all to give him a chance to explain everything."

"I'm not sure, Hyezo," the elderly woman replied to the supreme leader. "We can't be certain that the adversaries didn't tamper with his mind."

"Trusting the boy will endanger our clan."

"That's right. You know how dangerous that man is…" the other elder official said. He is talking about the head or the brain of Kronos which is K.

Yes, they are all aware of Kronos and that is why they try to hide Emily to protect her.

"Besides, didn't we all agreed before that we won't do anything connected to them?" the old woman stated.

"I know but you know which clan Ashton is from, the supreme leader Hyezo said that silenced everyone. "We all know the great power they possess. Do you think they can easily be manipulated by a mere human like K?"

No one answered his question, making him sigh. "I think you get what I mean," he continued. "That boy is the only one left in their clan and he is the son of the great clan leader of Syrea clan."

Ashton came from Syrea clan, the strongest clan that possesses the strongest power a being can acquire. But that is also the reason why he's the only one left now.

"Syrea clan are known for their ability to cast spells giving them an ability to control everything around them. They cannot be controlled by others," the supreme leader explained.

"That is only if the boy mastered every spell of Syrea clan," an old man official said.

"Yes, that's right and he did," the supreme leader briefly said in a serious tone. "He mastered all the speel of Syrea clan."

All of them widened their eyes when they heard what he said.

"W-what?"

"You must be kidding…"

"T-that can't be true… He's just 30 years old. It takes hundreds of years to master all the spells…" the elder woman said.

The supreme leader looked outside the window and smiled. "Well, we all know that he is a genius kid ever since. He took after the first head of their clan."

Everyone went silent after that and exchanged gazes. Well, they are all aware that they can't kill Ash because he is the only living Syrea making his existence matter. It is a very important rule that they've implemented for thousands of years and they cannot abandon that.

Furthermore, knowing he has mastered all the spells makes him automatically the clan leader despite being alone. That is because before you become a clan leader, you must master all the spells of Syrea including the forbidden ones.

"Well then, it seems like we cannot do anything to him but I wish to confine him inside the village for a month for tests," another elder man said.

"I agree. We must prove his worthiness," the elder woman replied.

All of the other elder officials agreed, which made the supreme leader nod. "Alright then. I guess the meeting will end here," he stated.

Meanwhile, outside the house hall where the officials gathered and Kithe was healed, Ash stared at the kids that were playing outside. There are a lot of changes in the village but its essence stayed the same.

It is still peaceful and quiet like a perfect place.

For him, it is still one of the most calming places he has ever been. It reminds him of his real home because just like it, the peace here was only a facade. It hides its people from the reality of the world.

He knows that the elders made a deal with K so he will not bother the village in exchange for peace. They won't interfere in each other's business as long as they stay away.

Ash also knows about the existence of Emily that he believes K doesn't know about. Well even if he found out about it, they found her first.

He'll just let Kithe do the pursuing task this time.

Ash smiled when he heard a faint sound behind him. He knows that someone's been watching him from behind.

"You're stalking me again, Dyna," he said and chuckled, making the woman behind him blush. And yep, it's Dyna.

She went out of her spot and exclaimed, "I was keeping an eye on you just in case you do something bad!"

"Really?" he replied and turned around. He smiled upon seeing her face. How he misses her.

Dyna is a really good friend for Ash and he is guilty of leaving her without a word. He understands why she's angry at him though.

"Yeah, asshxle. Don't think you are still welcome here after everything," she told him but deep inside she misses him. It's obvious that after all these years, she still likes him but she still feels betrayed. Despite all that, she's happy that he's okay.

Ash hurt her so much and it won't be easy to put things back the way they are. He knows that but he does not regret his decision. It is his responsibility after all.

"I miss you, Dyna," he blurted out with a sad smile.

Dyna paused and turned her back. She doesn't want to see that expression of his because he can feel the sadness that lies in his eyes. Dyna wants to ignore all that so she can be tough if he tries to leave again.

Besides, people always leave no matter how much love and care you give them. It just won't be enough.
