Persuasion

Kithe looked at his healed stomach five minutes after he woke up and noticed that he doesn't have his shirt. He lost his consciousness the moment he laid on the bed because of the excruciating pain that he's been feeling. It's been an hour though and he's finally awake. 

He closed his eyes for a moment and then someone came and opened the door. 

"Oh, you are already awake," a small girl with short hair said. It's Emily, the one who healed him. 

Kithe gets up from laying on the bed making Emily panic. 

"You can't stand up yet," she said and stopped him but Kithe was too strong for her. 

"I'm fine now," he said ignoring the sudden pain he felt the moment he stood up. 

"But you are not fully healed! I just rested for an hour because your internal injury is too deep I drained my energy. Who did this to you anyway?" Emily queried while helping him sit down again leaving him no choice but follow. 

Kithe looked away and remembered Dazaree's face. "Just a stupid woman," he uttered and rested his back on the pillows. 

"Huh? You are telling me it's an accident?" Emily asked and pulled the chair beside the bed to sit. She raised an eyebrow and continued, "That severe injury could've killed you. I've very sure she's a skilled one." 

Kithe didn't answer and just looked outside the window. Dazaree's power was already that strong the moment she awakened it which means it could be stronger. She could be stronger than him. 

Emily started healing Kithe using her bare hands. "You remind me of someone…" she abruptly said. The face of Demian flashed in her mind causing her to smile a little. 

Kithe just looked at her and then back to the window again. He does not feel like conversing with anyone. 

"Ahm, anyway, your wound is going to be okay soon," she assured him. "Whoever that person is, be careful around her." 

Kithe suddenly remembered about their plan which is to gather people with abilities like them and this girl in front of him is the person they are looking for. 

"Does everyone in this village can heal wounds?" he asked. 

Emily was shocked by his question and then looked away with a sad expression. "No… I'm the only one left with this ability," she stated. 

Kithe frowned and replied, "Why?" 

"Long story. Why did you ask?" she changed the topic. Emily finished healing his wound making her smile. 

"Ash and I are looking for people like you," he told her while looking straight into her eyes giving Emily goosebumps. 

"E-eh? W-why?" she queried. 

KIthe sat properly to face her and said, "We need your help." 

Emily got serious when she noticed that Kithe looks determined. There was something in his eyes that she can't deny, that's courage. She was about to answer when the door slammed open. It was Gail and she looks serious because she heard their conversation outside and Kithe is well aware of that. 

"We cannot join people we just met," she said firmly. Kithe looked at the girl who just came. Earlier, she's with Emily when they came inside the office. Upon looking at her with their close distance, Kithe thought that her face is kinda familiar. 

Emily stood up worriedly. "G-Gail!" 

Gail looked at her and said, "The supreme leader just told us to heal him, aside from that we won't do anything in their favor." She obviously doesn't trust them just like Dyna. "Besides we don't know them." 

Kithe took his shirt from the bedside table and wore it before standing up. 

"I understand your point. If our identity is your problem then let me introduce who we are and where we came from," he stated. 

To be honest, he thinks that a girl like her can't do anything when it comes to battles but he also knows that she'll be a great help to heal injured allies so he's determined to make her say yes. 

"Let's hear him out, Gail," Emily pleaded. Gail let out a long sigh and gaze at him again. 

"Fine. Just make sure that you won't lie or I'll kill you," she threatened him and sat down on the long sofa inside the room. Emily followed and sat beside her. 

Kithe sat again and stared at them for a while before speaking. If he wants Emily and Gail to trust them then he must tell the whole truth. 

"My name is Kithe Anderson. I'm an agent that works for an organization that is experimenting with kids for their abilities," he said causing the two to exchange gazes. 

"What organization?" Gail queried giving Kithe an idea that they have an idea of what he's talking about. 

"It's an organization created by K. We are tasked to capture kids to develop their genes and turn them into something normal humans didn't know was possible. But that's not just that, he also assigned us a bigger task and that is to find people like us. Someone who has natural ability. If my theory is right, K is not satisfied with the power that he created and wanted more."

"So you are one of them?" Emily with a serious look on her face. Her expression is very different from the one she has earlier. 

"I'm guessing you already know who and what I am talking about," Kithe replied. 

"You are an enemy," Gail said while gritting her teeth. 

Kithe shook his head and told them, "Believe me we are not an enemy. Ash and I are planning to defeat them and we need people like you to help us." 

"Do you expect us to believe that?" Emily said in a stern way. Her face is dark which made Kithe realized that they've been through a lot because of the organization. 

Kithe looked down and sighed. "I won't justify myself to you and I accept my mistake. I would accept my punishment for our wrongdoings if that's the only way for you to believe us." 

"What if we kill you now?" Gail said not showing any signs of emotion on her face. 

"You can kill me once we've defeated K," he answered while looking straight into her eyes. 

They just stared at each other until Gail spoke. 

"This is not for us to decided," she said and turned to Emily. "Let's go, Emily."
