FROM THE FORBIDDEN TREE

"Asher, no." She said weakly. She sounded needy and pathetic according to her but that would have to for the moment. "I can hear the need in your voice, you little liar." He whispered as he came even closer so that his breath was tickling her neck while he spoke in her ear. She herself could feel the need as it made a bead or two of sweat to form on her brow. She was excited about it much more than she could ever tell anyone. She however knew better than to do it on the day her sister was meant to get engaged. "At least not today." She whispered back with her eyes shut trying to calm her racing heart down enough to reason with him. "So you saying if it wasn't today and we were in the same position you wouldn't hesitate?" He asked so close to her ear that she shivered in delight and a small giggle left her mouth at the same time as it was her tickle spot making him chuckle at the feeling.

Asher

Asher David was proud of the man he had become. He could attest and say he was a self made millionaire. He wasn't nearly as rich as the Simons were but he was trying. Part of trying was a marriage beneficial to the company as his good business partner had suggested. He was in love with Robina but not deeply enough to settle down with her. His mother Sou, who was his business partner, and the mind behind the growth of S&D group of hotels, had however instructed him that a marriage of convenience wasn't that bad and he could sleep around like he wanted after they had established it. He had therefore decided to seriously court Robina and had also talked to her sister to plan a very public and romantic proposal for him to engage her. He however didn't fail to notice the lustful look thrown his way by Decota and how disappointed she had seemed when he had told her he wanted to settle down with her sister. He felt bad about it but for the convenience of his business and maybe to have a heir or two. He was so pleased with himself when he received the ring from Decota to use for size fitting of the ring he was having custom made for his engagement.

He had looked at the simple silver ring and couldn't help but wonder if Robina's fingers were that small. It barely fit his pinky. He almost called Decota to confirm but seeing the charges on his credit card he knew that there was no way Decota would have picked the wrong size. Inside the bag that had the ring was a small note and a photo of Robina in the outfit they had chosen. On the upside the woman was beautiful beyond compare. She had curves right where they'd be deemed rightfully placed and her face was so beautiful even without makeup on. He had no doubt about the fact that he enjoyed her body so much and he wouldn't mind to have to come home to such a wonderfully made woman. He opened the note and found some roughly written note and from the warning that opened the note he knew it was from Decota. There was no one else who would warn him about calling to ask about the ring size and also indicating that she needed the ring back before the end of the next day to avoid suspicion. At the very end there was a date and time and venue of the event.

He couldn't believe that he was going to propose to his fling just because he wanted to maintain a business reputation. It hit him hard especially as he realized he was in love with another woman and marrying the woman who only kept his bed warm on most nights. She may have been a good business entity but he had to admit she wasn't the best lover in the world. She had her short moment and he hated it. He hated that she was clingy and always talking about their future all the time. He felt as though that was turbulence to his bachelor status. He had not planned on settling down, at least not yet. He wanted to enjoy his time with his main girl Lora Adams. Lora the first woman he had ever had eyes for and he had never grown bored of her. She was the epitome of perfection as he so proudly proclaimed to his mother when he found her but his mother had shut him down with only a few words about how he wanted his future and he realized she was right. He needed more money. He was greedy, as greedy as his mother and that had meant he needed to marry rich or date rich to boost his reputation.

His mind however couldn't leave Lora. His heart was consumed by her dark skin and her wide hips that adorned her body in the greatest way possible. He couldn't get over her orange lips that were firm and tender at the same time. He couldn't explain how sweet those lips tasted and how much he loved them. How they adapted to whatever she put in her mouth was still so fascinating and he looked forward to how the different tastes collided in his mouth. He had continued to see her in secret even after her mother had advised against it because to him Lora was his soulmate. She was the woman he could picture having a life with but his desire to accumulate more money and due to the fact that Lora didn't have education enough to cater to the growing business market he had to settle for the rich entitled girl that his mother had approved. She made him happy just not as happy as Lora made him. That was why he was hell bent on getting Lora pregnant and having a second family with her as well. Lora hadn't known this and he didn't intend for her to. He wanted it to appear as an accidental thing.

Lora however did know about the plan to propose but not the plan to marry. He had kept the marriage plan to himself because he knew she wasn't as accommodative. He knew how much of a struggle it was to convince her to accept their relationship as it was only for publicity. When it came to explaining their engagement, he told her it would also be a publicity stunt as well. He wanted her to rest easy and trust him wholeheartedly. He looked at the ring in his hand again. He still didn't believe himself for doing that. He couldn't believe he was leaving a woman he loved for one he thought was merely a good shot at being wealthy. Maybe later on he could divorce her and somehow it wouldn't be messy so he could settle for the woman he loved. He felt disgusted for his typical behaviour of a rich hustler. He was still admiring the ring and imagined giving it to his special woman when he received a text from a random number but the content just spoke volumes about the sender.

'Must be Prussian blue. If not then I'm not doing it.'

His mind wandered off for a while. He had thought of red as he was doing a red ruby ring but then the text just didn't allow him to do what he wanted. The underlying threat had not gone unnoticed but he decided to give himself time before responding or else it would not be as appreciated. He stared at his phone for a while before he stood and walked to the bathroom adjacent to his office. The one thing he enjoyed about being the boss was the luxuries that came with it, an office with a bathroom was a serious thing for him. Not letting his mind draw him to his pathetic upbringing he made his way to the small closet and took a look inside to see his, weirdly enough, attire that consisted of reds and whites. So much for being prepared for it. He took it out of the closet and walked back to his office holding it all in one hand and made a call through the intercom to his assistant.

"I need some help here." He spoke as soon as she spoke. He waited for a while before he realized one thing. He had no idea what the colour Prussian blue looked like. Just as he was about to sigh defeatedly his assistant walked in. He heels clacked as she sauntered towards him and out of instinct he straightened himself more wanting to look even more buff than he already was.

"I need these replace with something prussian blue and maybe silver or white. I don't know." He wasn't all round sure what he was saying but the fact that his voice sounded strong was an indicator that it would all work out just fine.

"Sure thing." The young woman said as she picked up the stuff from his hands and laid it on the table so she could organise it and carry it all comfortably. He noticed that she stopped for a while and he tried following the train of her eyes only to find her staring at the little ring that was on the table. It didn't look expensive but it was unique with the little fake diamond on it rotating whenever the wind hit it. He did not speak but waited to hear her reaction to it.

"So you are planning on proposing?" She more of stated than asked and he tsked. He had not expected her to say that and sound jealous. They had hooked up a couple of times but he always thought the same way he did not find meaning in it was the same way she would behave. Judging from how she was all of a sudden stiff and bored, he could tell it was more than that for her. But he was far from the point of caring.
