My fear

We reached their house.

As we rang the bell, they opened and they both came running to us.

"Please come in." Their father called us.

"So, Chun and cho, how are things going?"

"Yes Unnie." They said together.

"Is everything ok with you guys? Are they behaving well?" I asked their parents.

"Everything's great y/n. Thanks to you for all."

"It's ok."

"What brought you guys here?" Unnie asked.

"Uh... actually my brothers wedding is coming up. We came to invite you guys." Jungkook said.

"That's great. We'll sure come."

We gave them the invitation.

"Ok, we have some work. We'll see you guys on the wedding day." We bid them goodbye and left home.

*at home

We didn't have anything to do as usual.

"Hey, how sure are you, your gonna win the bet?" I asked.

"A hundred percent."

"You're that confident it'll be soon?"

"Yes, I'm so confident." He said.

"How?"

"Secret!"

"I can't wait to see Jenny." I said happily.

"I can see that."

*knock knock

I got up and opened the door. To my surprise, I saw Cheryl.

"C-Cheryl?"

"Yeah, me. I came to get my friends keychain." She said.

"The dolphin?" She nodded.

I went to my room and got the keychain.

I held it in front of her, but moved my hand back.

"First, tell me, is it you who came that night to kill me?"

"No!" She said.

"This keychain was gifted by me to you. And you say it's your friend's who doesn't probably like dolphin."

"Yeah, it was me. Any problem?"

"Yeah. I've got a big problem. Trusting you that you'd change one day. But no, you're not giving up. You've gone so far to kill your once known as best friend, and I didn't expect this from you. Take your damn keychain and don't freaking get into my life or else I'll mess with yours. Bye!"

I said and threw the keychain at her and shut the door.

I knew Jungkook was standing behind me. I turned and faced him.

"Why did you do that?"

"Cause she hurt you."

"It doesn't matter if she hurt me. But she's your friend."

"I don't consider her as someone in my life after what she did to you." I said and hugged him.

"Y/n, but you..." I cut him.

"No buts. I don't care what she does anymore. She hurts my friends or family then she gets it too."

I broke the hug and said,

"I'm really hungry." He laughed at it.

"What are you laughing for?"

"Nothing." He said and got some cookies form the kitchen.

I ate them. I offered him but he refused.

"Kookie doesn't like cookie." I said and ate. He smiled.

*after sometime

We were really bored. We didn't have any work as of now.

"I'm going to sleep." He said and got up. But i called him.

"Ahh.. Kookie, are you really sleepy?"

"No. I don't have anything to do so I thought I'll sleep."

"Let's go for a walk then." I said. He nodded and we left.

On our way, we didn't talk anything. It was almost night and it was very cold.

Even though I wore a jacket, I felt cold.

I kept blowing in my palms and rubbing them.

"Are you feeling really cold?"

"No! I'm fine. I'm fine." I said.

"You don't seem to be."

"I'm fine."

He held my hand, intertwined his finger with mine and put it in his coat pocket.

I could feel the warmth in his hands. They were slowly travelling to my body.

He seemed cool to be holding my hand like that.

"Don't you think, we'd look like couples this way?" I asked.

"It doesn't matter. Let them think what they want. We should be true to ourselves." He said.

"You seriously stole my dialogue. And you said it to me. What a great person you are." We laughed.

It was so nice to be with him. He's really fun and caring. I feel different around him past these days.

Is it something other than friendship or just he and I are so close to each other?

"Do you wanna have anything?"

"A hot drink would do." He nodded and we went into a coffee shop.

"I'll have a hot chocolate." I said and sat down.

He got the drinks soon. I started sipping it. I felt normal now. Half of Jungkook's warmth and this drink's warmth had made me ok.

"Tomorrow what do we have to do?"

"Arrange all the tables and chairs. Check the catering services. Lights. The arch. I guess that's all for tomorrow."

"The arch and lights can be looked the next day. Dont get yourself worked up too much." He said.

"Ok." I said and finished my drink.

"What's next?" He asked.

"I don't know. It's actually boring sitting at home."

"Let's stay with the other guys tonight."

"That sounds good. I'm so excited."

"Shall we take a leave?" I nodded and we walked to their dorm.

It was walkable distance. While we were almost near the dorm, I spotted a snake.

I stood frozen in place. Jungkook walked further and stopped on his way, seeing me standing there.

"Why are you standing still? Come on." He called.

"A-actu...actually." My breathing became heavy.

"Gwenchana?" He asked.

I pointed my hand at the snake.

"S-s-s-snake." My voice became low.

"Wait here." He said and went to shoo the snake away. But I held his hand, and shook my head saying no.

My breathing slowly became heavier and heavier.

"Y/n, it's ok. Nothing will happen." He held my and said.

My head started hurting. I rested my head on his chest.

He hugged me and caressed my hair.

"It'll be alright." He said.

I held onto his jacket.

I slowly came to normal breathing. I let out a sigh.

"Is it gone?" I asked like a kid.

He looked and said,

"Yeah. It's gone."

I felt relieved.

"Thanks for helping me." I said and hugged him.

"I didn't do anything, to be honest."

"You stood by me and protected me. That's more than enough." I said and rested my head on his shoulder.

"What happened with you seeing a...." before he could finish, I said.

"I don't know why. But I get all tensed up. Shortage of breathing and headache are my symptoms. I just hate snakes. They're one of my major fears."

"Has it happened before?"

"When I was a kid, I guess. Knowing I hate snakes, Tae oppa never let me see them. Nor did I have any interest in seeing them."

"I never knew about that." I smiled.

"Umm... don't tell oppa about this. Or else we both will end up dead. Especially you."

"It's ok. I don't mind getting scolded for you. And he's your brother, he should know what happens to you."

"Really? Wae? Why would you take scoldings for me?" I asked as we walked.

"Your the only one who understands me better than my parents. They only think about the company and all. You yourself saw that day, about hyung, what my father said. But you are my close friend, not for the money I have or how rich I am, but for who I am. I'll do anything for you."

His words were so touching and emotional.

I looked at him and smiled.

He's really something I cant understand only at times.

"Is that what you think of me?"

"You can say that also."

"Do you like me?"

"Yeah." He said.

"I-I mean, n-not in that way." He stammered.

I pinched his cheek and said,

"I know that. You don't need to tell me."

We reached the dorm and knocked on the door.

The door opened revealing Tae oppa.

"Oppa? What are you doing here?" I was shocked seeing him.

"What are you doing here?" He asked.

"We felt bored at home so we came here. And I remember you saying you stayed near that place."

"Yeah, I did. I just came here to introduce Jenny to the guys. And then thought I'll come over to your house and check on you. But you came. Come in."

We went in and sat down.

"So where is she?"

"She's in the washroom." He said.

"Let's play a small prank on her please." I begged him. He finally nodded.

"We both keep hugging each other until she comes and let's see her reaction. Then we'll reveal who I am." I said and wiggled my eyebrows.

"Ok." He said and stood up.

"That was fast."

"Why would I not want to hug you?"

I smiled and went over and hugged him.

"Kookie, tell of she's coming." I whispered to him.

"She is." He mouthed.

She came, looked at us and sat down. She didn't react anything. We broke the hug and sat back.

She didn't ask who I was nor talked about anything.

"Shall we eat? I'm really hungry." She said. We were surprised by her behaviour.

"Why are you all looking at me like that?" She asked.

"Nothing. Let's eat." I said not to make it weird.

"Y-yeah." Tae oppa said.

We started eating. It was silent. And awkward.

"Can I ask you something?" I asked her. She nodded.

"You saw me and Taehyung hug and you act like you didn't see. But you didn't react. I mean, he's told me who you are, but you don't know me. Any reason?"

"Yes. I don't care who he hugs or goes out with. But I trust him. We like each other and that only matters."

I was impressed by her answer.

"You both are a one hundred perfect."

"W-what?" She asked confused.

"Why not eat and then talk about this?" We agreed and ate.

*after sometime

We seated ourselves in the living room.

"Now do I get to know?"

"So, I am actually, Kim Y/n, Taehyung oppa's little sister." I smiled and said.

"Jinjja?!" I nodded.

"I can't believe. Tae you didn't tell me your sister was so beautiful."

"Enough of me now. This is Jungkook, my best friend." I said patting him as he was next to me.

"Hi. Nice to meet you." He said.

"Nice to meet you both. I'm really glad I finally get to meet you both."

"Us both? Why?" I asked out of curiosity.

"Taehyung always talks about you guys. He always feels worried that he's left you and he's here for his work. He really loves you a lot."

"Ohh.. you know let's just push this off and talk about something else, instead of me, please."

We chatted about random things and wondering how things were formed or named. It was so fun. We laughed a lot.

"We better sleep. Tomorrow we've got our work and I'm really tired."

We all got up and the guys walked to their room.

"Kookie, give me company and walk me to the bedroom." I hugged his hand and was half asleep and said.

"Ok." He said and leaded.

We reached the bed and I lay down. He was about to leave but I stopped him.

"Hey, stay here please. I can't sleep after that seeing that thing. And I need company."

"Ok." He said and lay on the other side of the bed.

I held his hand and slept. I felt safe and protected with him.

I think I like him. I think I have something for him. I'm not sure yet. Maybe there might be something to know if it's true or not. I'll see to that later.

I'll soon find out what i have for him.
