Fate as an Alchemist

FMA Alchemy in Nasuverse. Mc is one year younger than Waver Velvet and will participate in the Fourth Holy Grail War. There are elements from Kara no Kyoukai, especially during volume 1 and 3, but not much and everything is explained. The mc is both an alchemist and a magus so don't expect him to be a hero. All the FMA alchemies are based on the 2009 anime. Ignore any knowledge or info you may have on the 2003 one.

Everything I desire will be mine 1/2

"Place it with the other one." I tell Giorno while indicating him to place this new vessel with the one I had prepared for Diarmuid.

"Of course young master." he replies while moving the 'corpse' carefully.

"Hmm, making this vessel took much, much longer than I had expected." I say to no one in particular, sometimes I talk to myself, it helps me think better after all. "Sigh, and now I will be running late for class."

Heading out of the lab I grab my notebook and move towards the classroom. I began attending Archibald's lectures over two weeks ago and honestly, the man is a genius. Sure he may be a coward and annoying, as well as arrogant and conceited, but he is undoubtedly a genius when it comes to mineralogy, in just this two weeks of class I have managed to improve the physical appearance of the philosopher's stone to make it look more like an actual gem, which isn't really useful as of now but it is nice seeing pretty things I guess.

Entering the classroom, I sit on the front desk as usual. Most young people here tend to ignore me, slightly scared of me because of the numerous rumours regarding my... experiments. More 'cultured' students, children of prominent magus families, try to make good relationships with me, I am after all a freaking genius as well and not trying to get along with geniuses is stupid.

Taking a look around, I see the one and only Waver Velvet, future lord El Melloi the second... or not. I am not planning on having him even participate in this war so poor lad will end up having to find a different path to glory, one that doesn't involve getting in my way.

A few minutes later Archibald arrives, proving me that I wasn't coming late so there was no actual need to hurry... sigh.

Today's lecture was much more interesting that the past ones. He has finally began talking about the actual composition of minerals and how to manipulate said composition through magic, as opposed to the past two weeks, where he discussed more about the appearance of the gems and how to change them. While both topics might sound similar, they are as different as the sun and the moon, both floating in the same space, a.k.a. subject, but being fundamentally different in everything else.

As weeks passed by, professor Archibald began giving homework, which were nothing but a walk in the park with bye experience in mineralogy, I had researched quite a bit while preparing the philosopher's stone so I had the most base knowledge in class, second only to the professor himself.

The classes themselves were simply amazing. The professor dedicated absolutely no time to nonsense and it was quite fun watching him scold the more... challenged students. I am not a bully or anything of the like, but seeing an idiot get put in his place for being an idiot is surprisingly pleasant. Sigh I suppose I got that from mom, who looks at anyone who does not excel in at least one field as a bug, or perhaps from dad who whenever I saw him kept repeating that it is important to be both knowledgable and talented.

"You are interested in mineralogy" asked my dad coming into my lab.

"Not quite on mineralogy per se, but I certainly think it is useful." I reply while looking up from the ring I just crafted. "What do you think?" I ask my dad while showing it to him.

"Not bad." he replied as he comes closer to take a better look. "The ruby is beautiful and the craftsmanship of the rest of the ring had nothing to complain about."

"I know right?" I say excitedly. "It hasn't even been that long since I began making rings and I am already pretty good at it."

My dad looks at me and a small smile forms on his face. "Good, it seems you are finally understanding what it means to have pride as a magus." he says while nodding his head.

Sigh, well I am not sure where the line between pride and arrogance is drawn. I know pride is acceptable, even considered a good quality, as long as it can be backed up, as long as I have something to actually be proud of. I spent a lot of time thinking about that, sure I could be considered prideful if I were to say I am the best in my class, because it is the truth, but if I were to say I am the best in front of the strongest heroic spirits, then it would just be arrogance.

"I suppose I am showing a bit of pride lately." I say while looking at my dad with a smile. "I just can't help it."

My advancements were simply unprecedented, the philosopher's stones I made were better and better each time, both aesthetically and physically. Though I didn't make many and the ones I created were still incomplete versions, I was now able to change their sizes, by that I mean I could choose how many souls I could place in each stone, basically it was up to me if a stone had a single soul or a thousand. It might be hard to understand why this is so important, so let me show you.

"Here you go dad, try putting it on." I say while smiling.

He looks at me weirdly for a moment before complying with my request. Once he placed the ring on his finger, his eyes widened in shock. "The ring, it supplies mana!" he said with a surprised expression.

"Indeed, but that is the ring's most basic function." I say with a smile. "The real value of the ring is being able to do this." I say while putting the same ring on a test subject in front of us.

"Look carefully." I tell my dad before using alchemy to turn a rock Ito a gun and killing it.

Red lightning started forming around the corpse before it suddenly woke up while panting. I turn my head to the side and see my dad's face.

"T-This is..." he says before focusing his attention on me.

"Yes." I reply with a smile. "This is an extra life."

Author note:

Two chapters today, honestly they are pretty much a continuation fo each other. It could have been one single chapter, but it would be too long so I divided it.
