The judge had received a request from the senate to go and meet with a gentleman in one of the most prestigious hotels in all of DC informing him that it had been closed for the purpose of their meeting, and that the gentleman had an interesting theory about the case judge Russo was trying to solve 'the wrong way'.
Since they weren't threatening him, bribing him, or trying to stop him by force, Wilbert decided to go and buy himself some more time before Cynthia Evans's people find a way to bail her out. The judge had used all of the credit he acquired in DC over the years, but he knew that there were time limits to that as well.
