The men who were gathered in the information analysis room did not have time to react to the distressing news the driver was sharing with them, what she said was indeed vital, but it was too little too late. And while Deborah stood there with tears in her eyes, Richard's phone rang.
"Speak," said Richard. He clenched his teeth a few seconds later, "Keep me posted, I will allow no mistakes,"
George and Robert braced themselves for the worst. Fabricated evidence, or Sally's body that had been found somewhere.
"It's the police," Richard said with a tortured expression.
"Are they coming to take me in again?" George asked in a calm tone.
"…They are coming, but our informant is saying that they are not coming for you," he gave Robert an apologetic look.
It took Robert and George three seconds to understand exactly what Richard couldn't say out loud.
