I wanted to meet the Ancient One to eventually ask her about All for One and about my future. I joined the masters of the mystic arts to learn more about the world I had been reborn into. I was told by the Voice that it was similar to the MCU, but with the some things added from the comics as well.

It had been two weeks since I had joined The New York Sanctum and all I had done was that I had learned a mediocre amount of Sanskrit. I wanted learn more about the lore of this Marvel Universe and also start learning magic. Unfortunately, every time I brought it up with Master Jiao he just brushed it off by saying: "You need to have more patience and determination if you want to tread on the path of the mystic arts."

I was excited for today because after two weeks of studies I was finally getting my first lesson on the mystic arts. Master Jiao made me sit down and started explaining about the three different types of magic.

"Magic is divided into three different categories: Personal energies, Universal energies and Dimensional energies," he started explaining. "Personal energies are those derived from the life force of the sorcerer. Personal energies can only be used to power abilities developed through mental studies and are thus limited to mental abilities such as astral projection, hypnotism, telekinesis, and telepathy."

I interrupted in between, "What about people who can use telepathy and telekinesis without the use of magic?"

He raised his eyebrow, "I would appreciate it if you refrained from interrupting me. Now about your question: people who can use Telepathy and Telekinesis without ever learning magic certainly do exist, but it's quite rare for a person to posses such an ability."

He continued explaining, "One of the easier sources that a sorcerer can draw power from are the Universal energies of their home dimension. Universal energies can be used for conjuration, transmutation and teleportation purposes and are commonly used in battle to create shields and weapons of energy.

Lastly, Dimensional energies are those that are drawn from other planes of existence throughout the multiverse or are bestowed upon a sorcerer from one or more extra-dimensional entities. Most sorcerers, especially those that harness extra-dimensional energies, like us, train in the art of spell-casting."

He started to create different geometrical shapes using Eldritch magic, something I couldn't help but stare at. I had already seen it in the movie: Doctor strange- but seeing it in real life, the brightness, the sound, the heat, fueled my desire to learn magic further, "Similar to scientific formulas or mathematical equations, achieving specific magical effects can require certain words, gesture, or rituals of some sort, while others may require the use of relics and other items imbued with supernatural power."

"So, what are you teaching me first?" I questioned enthusiastically.

"First, I am going to teach you how it feels to be the subject of someone's Telepathy," He replied as he placed a finger over his right temple.

"Say what now?"

"It's okay. Relax. I am not going to be reading too deep into your memories," He tried assuring me. I wasn't reassured at all. The greatest fear of a person who has reincarnated in a fictional world usually is having his memories read. I was scared because there were only a few ways that this could end up.

1) He was going to be hit by the greatest existential crisis he would ever experience, looses his fucking mind and just goes bat-shit crazy.

2) He would think that I am crazy and throw me out.

3) I would be able to convince him/them that I can see into the future. The visions of the future just came to me in the form of movies. That was the best scenario for me at the time.

These were the three scenarios that ran in my head. Unfortunately, there weren't many excuses I could come up to avoid this.

"I would really prefer if you didn't delve into my mind," I tried dissuading him but he didn't seem to be paying any attention to me. "Um, You okay?" I tried asking, fearing that he had already seen too much.

He just kept staring at me, "I-I am unable to enter your mind?" he finally spoke and seemed to be questioning himself more rather than talking to me. That sentence filled me with relief. I had read many fan-fics and that sentence indicated that my mind was protected from telepathy- like those main characters from the fan-fics I had read in my previous life.

He stood up and created a portal.

I asked, "Where are you going?" as he walked through the portal.

"Follow me, we are going to meet the Ancient One," He said from the other side of the portal.

I sighed. I was probably going to have to make up a lot of shit to explain- what I was hoping was- my immunity to Telepathy. But in my eyes learning magic was worth it.

<Kamar Taj>

I walked through the portal and entered the mystical place that was Kamar Taj. I would have preferred to learn here than the New York Sanctum. The New York Sanctum was more like a Haunted museum than a place of learning. Kamar Taj filled it's visitors with a certain sense of serenity.

I followed master Jiao into the very same room that Doctor Strange had met the Ancient One for the very first time. The scent of incense sticks filled my nostrils. Master Jiao bowed to a bald person wearing white robes sitting and sipping on tea, who I identified to be the ancient one from the movies. I bowed alongside him.

"Master Jiao, what brings you here?" She addressed him as she put down her cup of tea back on the table.

"Ancient one," he bowed. "I ran into a problem while I was trying to teach my disciple and was hoping for your guidance."

"Well, it is your first time teaching a student."

"Actually, the problem isn't related to my capabilities as a teacher, but rather the student."

"What do you mean?"

"I had been planning on teaching him about Telepathy and Telekinesis for his first lesson. However, I could not enter his mind, at all." The Ancient One raised her eyebrows in surprise. I, on the other hand, just hoped that the ancient One wouldn't try poking around my mind through Telepathy.

I did trust her enough that she wouldn't simply start attacking me, but the trust I had in her was in the character I had seen in the movies. So there was a chance that I had been wrong to try joining the Masters of the Mystic arts so early on, without any means of protecting myself.

"I see... I would like a moment alone with Mr. Flynn." That sentence never accompanied anything good. Master Jiao bowed once again and left, despite the many internal protests I was having on being left alone with her. I believed that Master Jiao and I had bonded enough for the past weeks to give me some credibility. Plus, I was his first student, that had to mean something.

Once we were alone The Ancient One spoke to me for the first time, "So, Mr. Flynn. I am sure you have questions about why you have been brought to, let's say the principal's office." She smiled. That's when I realized, I was an eleven-year old kid to their eyes, Hopefully, my age would somewhat protect me from being questioned.

"Is it because Master Jiao couldn't read my mind?"

"yes, do you know any reason why he was unable to do so?"

"No," I really didn't know the definite answer except for a few speculations.

"Master Jiao only recently earned his position," She handed me a cup of tea. "He has always been more talented than others when it came to mind-arts. It was probably why he wanted to teach you a little about the mind-arts as his first lesson. It must have been jarring for him to encounter someone with a natural mind defense. Even now I can tell that your mind defenses are possibly the strongest I have ever seen so far, and I have seen a lot."

"Is that why they call you the ancient one, because you are so old?" I tried to act the role of a curious kid.

She smiled, "That is indeed why they call me the Ancient One. Now, Can you tell me where did you come to know about the Master of the Mystic Arts?"

Huh, she was way friendlier than I had expected. I had already prepared an explanation as to how an 11-year-old knew about Kamar Taj, "It might seem crazy, but I saw this place in my dreams."

"It's okay. I deal with otherworldly and crazy things all the time. What did you see?"

"I saw a weird man training in this place, he had quite the strange name too- in fact, his name was Strange." I had mentioned Strange's name to sort of imply I could look into the future. Seers are always treated as valuable, no matter the universe. Well, only in 'fictional' ones mostly.

"I see..." If me mentioning strange had shaken her, she didn't show it. "Well, would you like to stay here and learn under me? Although we have been trying to start accepting students and mentor them in the New York Sanctum, it probably would be for the best for you to study under me."

That offer was so tempting! On one hand, I had the opportunity to learn under one of the greatest sorceress to have ever lived. On the other, she could find out my secrets. Then again, she was probably one of the only people who wouldn't go crazy after learning that the world of Marvel was fictional from where I originally came from.

I still wasn't going to tell her, but I was willing to bet on the mysterious mind protection I had against Telepathy. "Sure," I agreed with a smile. I still hoped to get clues to learn how I was supposed to use All for One, a chance to learn about my own future was an added bonus.
