Chapter 58: I am quiting..

Calcel was now in his room. He put the laptop on his bedside table and sat at the edge of the bed.

" Do you like anyone ? " He remembered his father's question and passed his hands through his face.

" Why is he concerned to know ? " Calcel asked himself. " But do I really like anyone ? " He asked himself confused.

" Why did you do that ? " Again Calcel remembered what Alyssa had asked him.

' Gosh ! What's happening to me. Why did I really kiss her , Is it possible that I like Alyssa ? No way. ' The thought came but he chased it away immediately .

The next morning , Alyssa got up early . She was going to go for work again and she was so glad about that. She was in red tight dress stopping below her knees , With black heels and she applied makeup with a pink lipstick.

" I think this is cute enough. " She told herself as she looked at her reflection through the dressing mirror. Her hair was tied into a bun and she really looked respectable. It had been four days ever since she stopped working. She really had to show up to her best.

" Good morning everyone. " Alyssa greeted reaching the dinning table to find that everyone was already there.

She sat down and started having her breakfast. Calcel and David were talking business as usual as Alyssa ate her food quitly.

When she finished her's they were still talking so Alyssa excused herself and left.

At Wong Costmetics.

She arrived that morning , Most of the workers had not yet arrived. She walked gently to her office as the few workers she met on the way greeted her.

" Good morning. " She was replying them.

When she was finally in her office , She sat down on her chair and opened the laptop. She really had a lot of unfinished work

" Oh my God ! , How do I finish all of this today ? " She asked herself and then started working immediately.

Calcel was in his office. He suddenly stopped what he was doing and opened the drawer of his desk. He got the phone from it , The phone he had bought for Alyssa but was unable to give it to her the previous day.

He looked at the phone as questions started running through his mind.

" How do I give you this ? " He asked himself.

He was like that when Secretary May dashed into his office. He quickly put the phone back in the drawer and looked at May.

" What is it ? " He asked her.

" Sir , I came to present this. " May said with a smile.

" Leave it there. I will look through it later. " Calcel said.

Instead of leaving , May sat down on the chair and looked at Calcel.

" Do you have something more to say ? " Calcel inquired.

" Why are you avoiding me now days ? " That was May's first question .

Calcel chuckled. " What are you trying to mean ? " He asked.

" Ever since I confessed my love for you , it's like you've been trying to avoid me. You make sure that our conversations are always short. I don't know why. " May spoke solemnly.

" May , It's just that I am busy. Why would I avoid you ? " Calcel asked.

" Because you don't like me. Right ? " May asked her eyes turning watery.

Calcel became confused. " May , Please understand me. It's not that I hate you , But I really don't think that's a good idea for us to date . " He flattered.

" That's what I want to know ? Why can't you date me ? " May asked . Tears were already flowing over cheeks.

Calcel became out of words. He sighed looking for what to tell her at the moment.

" May , You are Intelligent and kind. And above all you are very beautiful. There are very many men out there who would wish to date you. " Calcel attered out.

"That does not matter to me. What matters is that I like you , And it's only you Calcel. " May cried out.

" I am sorry. But I don't feel the same for you " Calcel gasped and looked away to avoid her gaze.

" Is it because you like someone ? " May asked with a serious gaze.

" I also don't know." Calcel was confused.

May dried her tears with hee hands and got up from the seat. Looking straightly into Calcel's eyes.

" I am quiting ! " She declared and turned to leave.

Calcel couldn't believe his ears and when she turned to leave he also got off the chair and rushed after her to stop her. He held her by the hand to stop her from leaving the office. They were now standing near the door.

Alyssa still in her office. It was already noon and she had just completed half of the work.

' I think I should discuss with Calcel . " She told her self and then got the work she was just from typing within the files.

She headed to his office and before entering she sighed and held the door handle to enter when the noice from inside stopped her. She stood still to listen to what was being talked about from inside.

Calcel had just held May's hands to stop her.

" May , What are talking about .Why would you quit ? " Calcel asked solemnly.

May turned to look at him. Tears still on her eyes. He released her hand slowly.

" Two years ago ,When I started working in the company. I thought that I was going to find you but unfortunately you left the country with your mother. I endured and worked hard to stay and wait for you until Your father chose me as his secretary. I was so happy but whenever I thought that you wouldn't be able to come back I felt like quiting. " May narrated while Calcel listened to her.

She continues. " Then one day , I heard rumors that you were going to come back in the company.I was so happy. I worked harder and luckily Mr David asked me to be your secretary. From then , I thought that since we were to work and be together all the time I would win over your heart. "

She then looked up at him. " Calcel , What have I not done done.

Alyssa who was also standing outside at the door could hear the story.

" Calcel , I have been loving you for seven years now. But why can't you notice that ? " May asked.

Alyssa who was still standing covered her mouth in shock to hear this. ' I think am in a wrong place. " She told herself and immediately left making no heavy movements to be heard.
