Chapter 11- Ace VS Adleck(2)

"I knew you would have something like that. A criminal of your caliber, it isn't shocking even in a poor and remote place like Greenland city. Even after confiscating most of your items, you always found a way to have such items." Adleck spoke with a smile which didn't move Ace much. Adleck reached his hand to a part in his gear located over his thigh and pulled out a dark silver short sword which wasn't easily visible till then. It was a bit longer than a usual dagger hence being called a short sword.

" Well the silver tier items we confiscated are doing well in the dark metal market. You should be happy for aiding in community service." Adleck continued as he took an attack stance with the short sword.

" So no wonder there were more silver tier items being sold than usual. This place is too poor to own that many. They were my stuff!!." Ace roared as he stared at Adleck like he was dead meat.

" Don't look at me like that. Father gave me this one. You know his overprotective nature. I rarely take it out as it's rare to see such items in a place like Greenland city." Adleck laughed as he flexed the dark silver short sword.

' He's trying to buy time for the reinforcements to arrive. I'm just allowing it because I can easily get rid of him in less than a minute. Well I'll still have to move from here immediately' Ace reasoned as he took a stance and launched himself at Adleck.

" So are you still willing to fight and not run after I took out a weapon superior to yours. Well I'll give it to you. You got guts." Adleck nodded with satisfaction.

" What's good about a weapon if it doesn't hits it's target. Give a kid a weapon and it's still a 'Kid'. " Ace laughed with disdain in his eyes as he charged towards Adleck who also charged towards him in anger. He felt insulted by Ace's last statement.

" DIE!!" Adleck roared as he slashed at Ace with some skill in his movements. Ace laughed in mockery and easily maneuvered himself to avoid the attack and make a slash of his own with the dagger aiming for Adleck's

vitals though he didn't really plan on striking them as he didn't want to overly offend his father by killing him.

Adleck found himself in a difficult situation as he couldn't dodge since he was too close to Ace achieve that.

He decided to sacrifice another part of him instead. So Adleck shifted his body and the dagger rather cut across his chest and arm spilling blood as Adleck retreated. It wasn't a deep wound solely because Ace didn't wish for it to be. In front of a silver tier weapon, Adleck's black tier gear and black tier defense based spawn essence were just worthless.

Adleck gritted his teeth in frustration. He didn't expect the skill gap between them to be that wide. " If we continue, you would definitely die. So much for number one expert of Greenland city. You are just a slightly big fish in a small pond. Don't let it get to your head. I kill people like you for fun" Ace laughed as he directly stepped on Adleck's pride. Adleck was so enraged that he charged in recklessly. Ace took the opportunity without batting an eye and after dodging a forward thrust from Adleck, he used the dagger to cut off his right arm with smooth moves and amazing expertise which made Adleck cry out with a shrill. "What made you even think you could match me??" Ace shrugged as he easily knocked down Adleck and took the silver tier short sword, Adleck's black tier whip along with any item of relative value on him.

" Well for sparing your life, I'll be taking these items as compensation. " Ace smiled feeling like this wasn't so bad even though he was about to face an entire army of spawn hunters facing the city. His threat level wasn't underestimated one bit.

" Aaargh" Adleck cried with pain as he stared at Ace with rage and fury in his eyes. His pride had been hurt. If the others saw him like this, he would be deemed pathetic especially now that he had lost his arm. He had bragged about bringing Ace in himself after they got news of his appearance in the city's nearby forest reserve. He had underestimated Ace greatly especially since Ace had once worked for his father.

" I'll kill you. I'll make sure your father chase's you to the ends of the Earth and I'll torture you endlessly before I rip your heart from your chest you bastard." Adleck cursed as he spoke with spite. " Well good luck with that. Greet the old man for me. Tell him I'm out" Ace added as he leaped with incredible agility to the top of two storey building. He stared at Adleck once more and smiled with mockery clearly written in his eyes and dashed off. " FUCK YOU GREY FOX" Adleck cursed loudly.

Ace smiled even more as he heard that whiles dashing off.
