CHAPTER 832: An Unexpectedly Pleasant Surprise

Han Shuo had hired a capable and trustworthy manager to run his Celestial Pearl branch in Ethereal City. Han Shuo believed that McKinley, the new City Lord of Ethereal City, would look after his pharmacy in the city while he was away. He also doubted that there would be any problem with Metal Elite Zombie's Goldstone Trading Enterprise.

With everything in place, Han Shuo, along with Han Hao, Rose and the Five Elite Zombies, left Ethereal City and headed for the Fringe - the Land of Chaos.

After learning that Metal Elite Zombie had been injured, Han Hao asked him for a detailed account of the raid. However, Han Hao also had no idea who the attacker was.

It turned out that although Han Hao, like Han Shuo, knew the leaders of the Godhunter factions in the Fringe, he didn't know much about the Fringe either. After all, the Godhunters weren't the only power dwelling in the Fringe. The most powerful and evil experts the Elysium could offen lived there.

Han Shuo and his group possessed decent strength. Han Shuo, Han Hao and Rose were Highgods, while the five elite zombies all possessed miraculous abilities. With them, they were able to travel quickly. It only took them a few days to travel a considerable distance from Ethereal City.

A few days into their journey, Han Shuo and the group arrived at the fortress where Han Mu and Han Shui had been surrounded earlier. The gods in the fortress seemed shocked by Han Mu's reappearance. Their gazes at Han Mu were filled with caution and wariness, as if they were afraid that Han Mu might do something evil to them or their loved ones.

"Why are you looking at me? You wouldn't have to worry about me if you paid as much attention to your girlfriends!" Han Mu couldn't help but curse as he saw everyone on the street looking at him nervously.

Han Shuo couldn't help but laugh. Previously, he had thought that Han Mu wasn't such an influential person. But now Han Shuo realised that he was wrong. He was very surprised that all those gods who had girlfriends or wives seemed to be so afraid of Han Mu. He asked quietly, "You little brat, you seem to have made a lot of enemies, haven't you?"

"Hehe, they are just being overly cautious," Han Mu said with a smile. Then he turned to Han Shui and said, "Little Water, what are you worried about? With Father and Elder Brother here, no one will be stupid enough to try and catch me. They wouldn't throw their lives away!"

"All those ladies you slept with are crazy. If they decide to come after you with no regard for their lives, are you really going to kill them?" rebuked Han Shui rudely after glaring at Han Mu.

Han Mu stared blankly for a moment after hearing these words. He thought for a moment and immediately came to his senses. Han Mu grimaced and said to Han Shuo, "Father, I think we should hurry. What Little Water said made sense. Those crazy bitches might really come after me with no regard for their own lives, and I don't think I would kill them. We should avoid them or it'll be really annoying!"

Han Shuo was stunned. He thought that this little rascal of his really knew how to make trouble for himself. Anyway, with almost every god in the fort looking at them strangely, Han Shuo did not want to stay in the fort for long. He agreed with Han Mu and they hurriedly left the fort.

Shortly after Han Shuo and his group left the fort, four ladies arrived in the area Han Mu was travelling through. They were of different ages, but all of them looked exceptionally beautiful. They looked around while crying loudly for Han Mu. And of course, they cursed him for being cruel and heartless.

Soon after, the four ladies noticed each other. They shamelessly started a four-way fight in public, insulting and cursing each other. But when they heard that Han Mu had just left the fort, they immediately stopped humiliating each other and flew in the direction Han Shuo and Han Mu had gone.

"What the fuck, kid, how many loose ends do you have?" Han Shuo grimaced after hearing the high-pitched screams coming from the fort. Then he said to the group, "Let's go a little faster, or they'll catch up!"

"Hurry, hurry!" said Han Mu. He flew to the front of the group as if he was very afraid of being caught.

....

When they were some distance from the fort, Han Hao took the lead. They flew quickly through many vast forests. After two days, Han Hao suddenly stopped at a huge waterfall. A steady stream of water poured over a rocky ledge and roared straight down into a deep pool far below. The water was then carried away by many small meandering streams.

Han Shui let out a soft cry when he saw the waterfall. He turned into a blurry white shadow and shot into the waterfall like a fish jumping into the sea.

As a cultivator of water energy, Han Shui would feel uncomfortable from head to toe if he didn't surround himself with water from time to time. Since it wasn't easy to come across such a clean and refreshing waterfall, there was no way he wouldn't jump in for a relaxing dip.

Han Tu and Han Huo didn't like water. They stood on a tree near the waterfall and looked down at it. Rose, Han Mu and Han Jin went to the smooth walls of the waterfall, stretched out their hands to get some water and washed their faces.

After leading the group to this waterfall, Han Hao said to Han Shuo, "Father, my gang is over here. I'll go talk to them."

"Okay," Han Shuo replied as he nodded.

Han Hao turned into a trail of light and flew through the falling water, landing in the dark cave behind the waterfall. The few Godhunters who had been watching Han Mu, Han Shui and the others like a tiger stalking its prey immediately came forward. The fierce looking scarred man asked, "Is it you, Chief?"

Han Hao did not answer, but released the sinister aura from his body to reveal his identity. Sensing the sinister energy that filled the caves, the Godhunter bowed and said, "Chief! It is you!" Then a group of sinister-looking Godhunters emerged from the winding caves and gathered in front of Han Hao.

"Chief, did you deliberately lead these people to this waterfall? Do you want to kill them?" Since they did not know Han Hao's relationship with Han Shuo and the others, and since Han Hao had previously used similar strategies to kill his pursuers and enemies, his henchmen assumed that Han Hao had the same intention as before.

Since they started serving Han Hao, they had never seen Han Hao meet with friends or family, nor had they ever seen Han Hao be friendly to anyone. In their minds, Han Hao was a completely callous and emotionless machine - a true heartless villain. Therefore, it was only natural for them to assume that Han Shuo and the others were Han Hao's prey.

"They are not prey! They are friends!" replied Han Hao, surprising his followers. Pointing to Han Shuo and the others, he instructed, "Remember their faces. You will not attack them under any circumstances. Understand?"

These Godhunters had never received any instructions remotely similar to this, or with such gravity. They were all startled, and it took them a while to come to their senses. They nodded repeatedly, indicating that they would obey the order, while wondering about the identity of Han Shuo and the others.

"You bunch are no match for them anyway," Han Hao groaned coldly and said, "If you run into them one day and they want to kill you, just tell them you work for me." After a short pause, Han Hao instructed, "Now, you will all return to the Death Dominion and bring the others to the Fringe. We won't haunt the Death Dominion anymore. We are going to the Land of Chaos."

"That's wonderful, Chief! Haha, a place like the Fringe is where we really belong, and we have wanted to go there for a long time! In this land, we can walk around openly. No one will make fun of us just because we are Godhunters. Chief, are we going to stay there for long?" the vicious and bulky man seemed overjoyed.

Godhunters were targeted and hunted by almost every power in the Twelve Dominions. The Fringe, however, due to its unique geographical location, was not under the jurisdiction of any of the Overgods. Also, since most of the people living in the Fringe were the most depraved criminals from all over Elysium, godhunters weren't a big deal to society there. No one would bother to exterminate them just because they were Godhunters.

In fact, they could live pretty much like a normal person on the fringe and openly engage in various businesses. For most of the godhunters and criminals who found the Divine Dominions too difficult to navigate, the Land of Chaos was a five-star resort where they could take refuge. They could live comfortably there without worrying about being hunted down by the Divine Guardians.

But there was one condition - they had to be strong enough to survive in the Fringe!

As the Fringe was not ruled by any of the Twelve Overgods, there were no divine guards to enforce any laws. It was filled with so many fierce and powerful experts that if you were not strong enough, you could lose your life the moment you entered the Fringe!

"That's right. We'll live in the fringe," Han Hao replied nodding before he said, "Get going and don't stop on your journey. Go back to the Death Dominion and bring the rest of our people with you. When you have reached the Fringe, just look for Polo to reach me."

"We will do as you ask, Chief," the bulky, scarred man bowed and led the group of Godhunters back into the cave and out through an exit away from the waterfall. Before they left, each of them took a good look at Han Shuo and the others to remember their faces.

After instructing his followers, Han Hao walked out of the waterfall and back to Han Shuo's side. Han Shuo smiled and said, "Not bad at all. They all seemed callous, calm, and experienced. They even know how to work together when travelling through the caves. It seems that they have been trained very well!" Han Shuo had observed everything that happened behind the waterfall through his demon generals.

"In the memory that Father left me, there are some demonic battle formations for team coordination. I used them on them. With it, they are more united than an average group of god hunters and can fight better as a team," Little Skeleton replied.

Han Shuo nodded with a smile on his face and praised, "Very well done! The fact that Han Hao was able to do this using only his memory of the demonic arts was further proof that he had truly inherited Han Shuo's understanding of the demonic arts. After a short pause, Han Shuo asked, "You said you had more followers in the Death Dominion. How many in total do you have?" Han Shuo was very interested to know just how many godhunters Little Skeleton had managed to recruit in the past fifty years.

"Three Companies, which is around three hundred people. They were all personally trained by me and know how to fight cooperatively. They are much stronger than the divine guards of an average city!" replied Little Skeleton proudly.

Han Shuo was elated by that information. He thought, <i >Little Skeleton is such a bringer of pleasant surprises!

Each of the God Hunters possesses extraordinary strength and a cruel nature. In addition, they know how to fight effectively using demonic combat formations. These troops might even be slightly stronger than the divine guards Han Shuo had trained using the Eight Desolation and Torment Formation. And on top of that, they were three hundred gods strong! Han Shuo thought that there could not be a better surprise.
