In the northwestern region of the Fringe, Polo, the leader of a Godhunter faction, had received a payment of two million black crystal coins from Little Skeleton. Polo showed no anger or resentment at Han Hao forcing the deal just outside the city, as he had received all the money he asked for.
One day, while he was torturing one of the beauties in his captivity, one of his followers returned with news from Ethereal City.
"My lord, Baum is dead. According to the hearsays, the Space Overgod has razed the City Lord's entire estate to the ground!" Kodiak, the godhunter who had taken McKinley's divine body from Baum, bowed and reported to Polo.
Polo was stunned and exclaimed in surprise, "He what?!"
"The Overgod has unleashed his wrath on Baum. The former Ethereal City Lord was destroyed along with his mansion," Kodiak repeated.
Polo was so alarmed that he stopped humping the beauty beneath him. He said, "I expected Baum to die, but I did not expect the killer to be the Space Overlord himself! This is so inconceivable! What's the situation in Ethereal City now?" Polo thought that McKinley would join forces with Han Hao to kill Baum instead of something so unexpected.
"McKinley returned to Ethereal City with a divine decree from the Space Overlord and became the new City Lord. My Lord, I don't think McKinley is the kind of person who would do business with us. His assumption of the position of City Lord doesn't seem to benefit us," Kodiak said.
Polo threw away the beauty beneath him and said in a deep voice, "Never mind McKinley. What's important now is Han Hao. Since he saved McKinley, and Han Hao is one of the leaders of our Godhunter Alliance, doing business with him is not out of the question. Right, any news on Han Hao? I'm more interested in him!"
"He sent us a message through one of his men asking about the incident where a caravan of the Goldstone Enterprise was attacked. We asked around, but found nothing," Kodiak replied.
"Hmm, it seems that Han Hao and the master of Goldstone Enterprise have a close relationship. The Goldstone Enterprise has branches in every Dominion. They are said to have mineral ores that their competitors could never find. If we can establish a connection with Goldstone Enterprise, it will be of great benefit to us! Investigate it with all our resources, find out everything you can about the raid. Report back as soon as you have any new information," Polo instructed.
"Understood, my lord!" Kodiak bowed and retreated. He left the base immediately with a group of Godhunters.

Half a month later, Han Shuo and the group had finally left the territory of the Space Dominion and officially entered the Fringe.
The first thing Han Shuo noticed was how chaotic the Land of Chaos really was. Bloody corpses were dumped everywhere and left to rot. Deadly battles were common. There were even Godhunters who openly devoured other experts as if no one was watching. It was completely lawless.
And that was just the outermost area of the Fringe!
As Han Shuo and his party travelled deeper into the Fringe, the scenes of fighting and killing became more frequent. There was no order in the Land of Chaos, and no divine guard to keep the peace. People could get into fights for the smallest of reasons. Not only would no one stop the fight, but most would watch from the sidelines with excitement. They might even join in if they thought they could steal a kill.
For one without sufficient strength, travelling in the Fringe would be tantamount to walking towards death. This was especially true if they carried valuable divine weapons or had attractive looks. One would also be likely to encounter a stronger godhunter cultivating in the same energy and be preyed upon. In the fringe, there could be countless possible motives for one to be murdered.
Han Shuo and the party had finally experienced first hand how chaotic the Fringe was. As they travelled, their minds gradually adjusted to the horrible sight of corpses covering every inch of the land.
Of the group, only Rose exuded the distinct aura of a Highgod. Han Hao wore his callous face as fierce light shone from his eyes. After surviving on Elysium for so many years, the Five Elite Zombies no longer looked like weak and puny characters to be bullied. As such, the group did not encounter anyone foolish enough to pick a fight with them.
"Do not lower your guard. This is only the edge of the Fringe!" Rose knew the Land of Chaos quite well. Throughout the journey, she kept reminding herself, "The deeper we go into the Fringe, the stronger the gods we will meet. As you have seen, all of those we met in the Fringe were only Midgods. Those Godhunters with Midgod strength did not dare to go deeper into the Fringe, lest they themselves become prey to stronger godhunters.
"Given our strength, no one would be foolish enough to pick a fight with us, right?" asked Han Huo. He looked like he was itching for a fight. He would shout and cheer if he saw a fierce battle along the way.
"Not for now. But it's hard to say when we get further in," Rose wasn't as calm and collected as Han Shuo and the others. The land seemed to cause her great anxiety.
Three days later, Han Shuo and the party entered the inner part of the Land of Chaos. They began to notice that those who were fighting were of Highgod strength. All of these gods had cold and cruel gazes. It was as if they were ready to attack a random stranger if he looked at them the wrong way.
"Han Jin, is this the area where your caravan was attacked?" asked Han Shuo after they came to an area full of hills and mountains.
The last time Metal Elite Zombie was here, there were a dozen or more divine guards with him. Each of the divine guards possessed Late-stage Midgod strength. Metal Elite Zombie had chosen to travel through this region because it was hilly and they were unlikely to encounter any powerful experts. But despite his careful planning, his caravan was intercepted and tragedy struck.
"Yes, Father, right in the middle of these mountains," Han Jin seemed somewhat saddened as he recalled the scene of his workers being brutally murdered. He pointed to a few places as he explained to Han Shuo, "Over there, and over there, I watched as my workers were brutally killed. None of them survived. I would have joined them had there not been mountains nearby."
As Han Shuo travelled to the Fringe, he came to realise that in this chaotic land, the strong rule while the weak are murdered.
Those who had lived in the Fringe for a long time were mostly depraved or sadistic. When they committed murder, they did so in various peculiar ways and procedures, some of which included torturing the victim, inflicting as much pain as possible, while keeping them alive as long as possible. They treated killing as a hobby or entertainment.
Han Shuo became very angry when he remembered that Metal Elite Zombie was almost killed. He released several demon generals and said, "Let's not go deeper into the fringe for now. We will stay close by and ask around. Maybe we can get some clues."
Rose and the rest of the group nodded, making no objections.
Han Shuo stood straight and still as a rock. He transformed the few demon generals he had sent out into solo travellers of various appearances. As soon as he spotted people travelling in pairs or more, the demon generals would appear and begin to provoke them, luring them towards where Han Shuo and the others were.
After a while, one of the demon generals, who took on a human appearance, managed to enrage a group of seven. They rushed out and followed the demon general without thinking.
When the demon general arrived in front of Han Shuo, he suddenly disappeared.
"Where did that asshole go?" the Highgod leading the group shouted coldly. "Are you forming a gang with that joker?"
Han Shuo smiled faintly and said, "Hello, gentlemen. I'm looking for some people. Can you help me?"
"What the fuck? Hand over the guy now or I'll kill you, you fucking pantywaist!"
Rose, who knew the proper Fringe etiquette well, rushed forward without warning and killed the few weak henchmen who had come with the Highgod. This Highgod had only recently become a Mid-stage Highgod. He understood Rose's true strength immediately when she attacked. A shiver ran down his spine.
The Fringe, however, was full of violent, brave characters who were not afraid to take great risks. Although the Highgod was not sure if he could defeat Rose, he nonetheless angrily shouted, "You bitch, you are so dead!" and charged at Rose.
<i >Whoosh! The bone spear in Little Skeleton's hand suddenly shot out. A terrifying sinister energy instantly filled the region. It was shooting at the Highgod with the might of a doomsday asteroid.
The Highgod was horrified and he immediately made defensive maneuvers. He had a frightened look after the short but perilous exchange. After gazing at Han Hao and Rose for a moment, he asked in a low voice, "Who are you looking for?" The Highgod knew that he stood no chance against both Rose and Han Hao and that he would be dead unless he starts being cooperative.
"Just recently, a caravan was raided and their ores plunder when they traveled through here. Do you know who did it?" Han Shuo then asked Han Jin to describe the appearances of those attackers once through.
The highgod knitted his brows and thought for a moment before he shook his head and replied, "I don't know. I've never heard of anything related to it."
"Finish him," instructed Han Shuo. He still had a faint smile on his face.
Han Hao and Rose immediately began to attack him ferociously. The Five Elite Zombies also swarmed towards him. They decided not to use the Penta-Elemental Undead Formation.
In Han Shuo's opinion, since Rose had already killed all of the Highgod's followers, they were destined to be enemies. Therefore, he might as well finish off the Highgod now, lest he return sometime in the future and possibly cause him trouble. After all, there were no laws to be obeyed in the Fringe, and there were no consequences for committing murder. Most importantly, this person was a Highgod, and his divine soul was the best fuel source the Cauldron of the Myriad Demon could have. He saw no reason not to kill the Highgod.
After travelling through the Fringe for a few days, Han Shuo did not find a single person worthy of the slightest sympathy. All those in the Fringe were the most vicious criminals, drawn from every corner of Elysium. They had no conscience and had committed countless heinous crimes. Han Shuo wouldn't feel a thing even if all these creatures were dead.
Rose could easily defeat the Highgod alone. And with Han Hao and the Five Elite Zombies working with her, the Highgod couldn't even try to escape. It only took a few moments for Little Skeleton's seven bone spurs to impale him.
The Cauldron of Myriad Demon quickly flew out and collected the Highgod's divine soul along with those of his minions. This divine soul was able to replace the demon general that the Space Overlord had accidentally killed in Ethereal City.
After killing the Highgod and his gang, Han Shuo did not leave the area, but repeated the same modus operandi. He would interrogate all those who fell for his bait before killing them and collecting their divine souls. Unfortunately, although Han Shuo questioned many, he did not get the information he wanted.
Just as Han Shuo was about to give up and travel deeper into the Fringe, Kodiak, Polo's henchman, came looking for them after hearing the whistling sounds of Little Skeleton's bone spurs.
