In Leon Vergil's restless dreams, he raised his hand to grab a faint spark of light up above. But it looked closer than it actually was. As he stood up, he saw nothing but an empty black void of a room.
"W-What is this place?" Leon asked himself. Until something caught his eye, he was not alone in the room. A dark-maned lion roared at him as it bared its fangs, causing Leon to jolt awake.
The boy scanned the room, sweating and panicking from the nightmare he just experienced. "How are you, Leon?" Damian asked him with a concerned tone.
Leon immediately got rid of his shirt and looked to see if the wound near his stomach was still there. His eyes widened after he noticed that what was left of it was now but a scar. "What happened to the others?!" Leon retorted back to his friend with a question.
Damian looked down and shook his head. "Except for Kyro and the two of us, all of them are dead. It was that masked Lunaseeker, he massacred everyone." Said Damian as he clenched his fist in anger. Leon mirrored his expression, it was the face of defeat and of powerlessness.
"How long have I been asleep?"
"About a day now. Sir Kanon told me to get him once you are awake, excuse me for a bit." Damian responded as he got up to inform Kanon Sokolov that Leon was up.
"My wound…it just healed…" Leon thought to himself after inspecting the bitten area once more.
A loud knock was heard, before Leon could tell this person to come in, he just burst through the door. "Yo!" It was the Commander of the Umbra Knights.
Leon gulped. "What happened to me, Kanon? Even I could feel I already had one foot at death's doors that night."
Kanon took a seat after he pulled out a chair. He grabbed a pack of cigarettes from his pocket and lit it up. "There is no easy way to tell you this. So, I am going to tell you in the simplest way possible – you've turned into a Lunaseeker, Leon."
The Commander's words confused Leon to the point of panic. But before he could react frantically, Kanon immediately cut him off. "There are two ways for a human to turn into a Lunaseeker. The first one is to be born within a family of Lunaseeker-turned humans, the second one would be to drink the blood of one. I am sure you already know what happened to you."
"T-Then I am an enemy to Solstice and mankind now…what have I been working so hard for these past two years?! Just like that, huh? How about you, Kanon. When are you going to get rid of me? Lunaseekers are the enemies of man, right?" Leon maniacally shouted at the Commander.
Kanon, who was now sick of Leon's constant yelling and impatience, raised his hand and smacked the top of the boy's head. "Get a hold of yourself. I am not here to babysit a noisy brat. Either you let me speak or I'm getting rid of you from the Umbra Knight's ranks." Kanon got slightly annoyed.
Leon's eyes lit up. "U-Umbra Knights? Are you saying I made it?" he asked with a glint of happiness in his pupils. "Of course you did, idiot." Kanon shook his head.
He stood up and exhaled the smoke from his tobacco out the window. "Nobody else but the people present that night knows of your current state. That you are a Lunaseeker."
