There were a lot of students in the hall. Teachers finding their way to the class they'll be teaching, students sitting cross-legged excitedly for their crystal magic lessons and Principal Gloria trying to get the students to be quiet.
Nessia looked for a teacher that held a sign with ''1-B'' on it. ''Nessia, over here!'' Principal Gloria indicated. ''Oh, thank you!'' Nessia smiled and joined her classmates.
After checking if all the students had arrived, the teachers brought their students to the respective classrooms.
In the classroom, there were gold chairs and elegant tables all lined up neatly. Everybody took a seat and the last seat was for Ledia right behind the class.
The teacher stood on a stage - like platform and prepared to speak, ''Welcome all once again, class 1-B. I am the teacher of this class, Professor Lora Draken. Your first class will be Spell Language.''
Nessia was excited and worried for Ledia at the same time. What did she mean by what, I, again?
She cleared her thoughts as the teacher spoke, ''Spell language class is useful for reading the spell book and pronouncing them. They are symbol - like characters that represent something. Take an example of this.'' She opened a book and flipped to a page that showed the Levitating Spell. ''There are 3 symbols that a person must chant to cast the spell.''
The first symbol was a spiral shape.
The second was a wavy line that represents the wind.
The third was a triangle that looked like a carrot or a bird's beak.
''This is the easiet spell you can all do if you focus. But first, I will teach you how to awaken your crystal element,'' Professor Lora instructed and a white crystal appeared on every table.
There was a loud knock on the door. ''Come in,'' the teacher smiled. The door opened and Ledia was outside and she looked like she never cried in the first place. ''Oh, Ledia! I understand that you might be at the washroom or somewhere else, but don't be late again!''
Ledia sighed, ''I know. I won't.'' She took the empty seat and stared at the crystal with amusement.
Professor Lora clapped her hands to get everyone's attention and instructed, ''Now, we'll be doing this step by step. If you rush any of the steps, you'll end up with an element you can't control. Cover the crystal with your hands and close your eyes... When you hear voices in your head, it means that the crystal is responding to your soul. If you don't hear anything, let me know.''
Nessia covered the crystal and closed her eyes tightly. She couldn't wait to see what her element was. However, there were no voices speaking.
Nor is there any sounds in her head.
She opened her eyes with disappointment and raised her hand.
''Nessia, follow me,'' the teacher whispered and they exit the class. ''Now speak.''
Nessia fidgeted with her fingers nervously as she explained, ''There's... Nothing speaking in my head...'' Professor Lora gave her a reassuringly smile, ''It's okay, it means you have special conditions. Follow me to the garden.''
They went downstairs and went through a hallway of studios. The sun was shining intensely and the smell of flowers were pleasent.
''Now sit on the ground and do it again,'' Professor Lora instructed. Nessia did as she was told and it worked!
There were voices talking about an ''angel'' and sometimes it giggled. She was confused on what the voices meant.
Later, the voices stopped and she opened her eyes. She saw the teacher looking at the covered gem with surprise, ''Open your hands!''
Nessia revealed the crystal and a light beam shot out from it. ''Is that... a light element crystal?'' ''Yes!'' Professor Lora answered proudly. ''Let's head back to class now. The others might be done awakening their crystal element already, and we still have 1 more thing to do to become true crystal mages!''
