DxD | Child of Ira

Reincarnation was a treasured dream for many people and I had been lucky enough to receive it. I was granted a wonderful family, plenty of wealth, and the blessing of magic but everything came at a cost. In this case, it was the intrinsic danger of the world where gods roamed freely and myth was merely a forgotten truth. I had been reborn in Highschool DxD. **** If you enjoy my work you can support me on patre*on.com/TrapOverlord for up to 12 chapters ahead.

Chapter 125

The dimensional gap was the epitome of nothingness. It held no air, no matter, no life in the slightest. It was an undamageable shield, an impregnable fortress that simply could not be harmed by any and all things. And yet now it burned.

It was an impossibility manifested, a mistake on a universal scale, and yet when it concerned a dragon it only made sense. A dragon, a heavenly dragon no less, was a being that did as it pleased no matter how impossible it may seem. That was what Ddraig believed.

"Sorry! It took me a while to—!" Quickly approaching the burning inferno was a black serpentine dragon, a quick glance from Hades sending the young prison dragon flying away once more. It was a brief distraction, one that lasted only a fraction of a second.

In that instant, Ddraig released his blazing flames. The flames towered high, so high in fact that it could turn the entirety of earth into a ball of charcoal and hot enough to make the sun seem cold. It was risky with the ice restricting Hades' power but Ddraig was confident. No dragon he respected would make such a blunder.

Reacting quickly Hades swung his staff, a thick barrier of deathly energy manifesting in front of him but he was slower than he would have liked and for a moment the powerful flames lashed against his bony body.

Ordes' ice wasn't intended to limit the body of Hades or rather that wasn't the main goal. In truth, despite it doing a wonderful job of that it was only a side goal at best. The ice's power was slowing Hades' energy movement utilizing the concept of Eternity.

Emerging from the flames with only a few blackened bones Hades was mostly unharmed, even the flames that kill God and Buddha alike only managing to slightly burn him. As strong as Hades was even he was weak to those flames so such a thing should have badly wounded him.

The fact that it had meant one of two things or maybe both at once. Hades had ascended in some way after merging with his realm or Ordes' will was weak. Ddraig refused to acknowledge the latter so the most likely thing was the former.

Charging forward Ddraig was merely a crimson blur in the air, his fist crashing into Hades body and sending him flying. Every high level fighter would enhance their body to make up for natural deficits but with Hades' energy lagging behind such a thing would be difficult.

Flipping over mid air Hades didn't waste even a second before sending a counterattack back, a blur of deathly energy exploding around the dragon of domination. Chains wrapped his red scales and an immaterial hand grasped at Ddraig's soul. It was Hades' authority of death and demise that grasped at his heart.

Entirely ignoring the hand grasping his soul Ddraig thrashed against his chains, the hand destroyed before it could even do any damage. Hades may be the strongest God regarding souls but Ddraig had a spiritual bond with somebody much stronger.

It would take less than three seconds for Ddraig to escape but with an opponent like Hades, such a thing would be difficult if not impossible. Is what Hades would think! Exploding an absurd amount of energy outward Ddraig instantly shattered the chains with abundant energy leaking out of him even after they had shattered.

The energy he had expelled was more than enough to bring even a heavenly dragon to the edge of death and yet Ddraig had no reservations. He had infinite energy available to him at all times, there was no chance he would ever care for energy restrictions again.

""Ddraig!"" Shouting angrily at once two billowing voices approached quickly, a black and white blur crashing into the battlefield while poison and corrosion spread all the while. Glaring at him hatefully, the two remaining emperors took a moment to catch up.

The battlefield was a mess of flames, lingering frost, and nigh infinite deathly energy and it was only growing worse with the two new additions. The dimensional gap had grown warped, space and direction were already odd here and yet it had only grown worse as extremely powerful energy was relentlessly released into the battlefield.

In the end, it was somewhat natural that they began to catch eyes. The dimensional gap may be a neutral ground but that didn't mean it was unwatched. It was only because the gap was a mystery of space and time that the two battles were undiscovered for so long.

Whether it be because they were too engrossed in combat or something else the three emperors did not notice the eyes on them, their relentless assault on Hades ensuring that nothing left his lips as the battle raged on.

Slamming his staff into the ground a magic circle spread beneath Hades' feet, a summoning circle of sorts. Though his subordinates had been absorbed into him alongside the realm they were not dead but merely trapped within him. A sufficient circle would be more than enough to release them.

Familiar hands clawed their way out of the circle like a zombie breaking through the earth, their limbs easily recognizable. The various aspects, Chronos, Thanatos, and many more familiar faces rose from the circle.

"I had been fine with just watching but… let's even this out." Jovially laughing like an old man was a man with wrinkled skin, a long cane, and an eye patch over his eye. He had not been there moments before, no he had just abruptly arrived without notice. He was one of the many eyes on them and the first to assist them. The first of many hopefully.

Raising his cane into the air it morphed slightly, its luxurious form shattering to reveal the spear hidden underneath. Stabbing his cane into the ground the magic circle beneath their feet shattered, the reanimated corpses dissipating as another magic circle appeared.

Once again hands manifested from the circle and once more they were eerily familiar but this time… it was a sign of hope. Rias Gremory, Gasper Vladi, Lavinia Reni, Vali Lucifer and many more had been forcefully brought here.

"There. Much more even now isn't it?" Laughing like a normal old man the man who had just changed the tide of the battle in an instant was recognizable to all that saw him. A being with more titles than any hero, a leader with more accomplishment than any, and the man who gave up his eye for knowledge.

"Lord Odin?!"
