Beginning

Aadi was born 5 years after the tunnels appeared during a time of turbulence, his mother and father had little care for him and only had him because of the support the government (what little remained) provided for those who increased population to make up for the rapid loss caused by the tunnels emergence.

99% of all people of the country of Lilin died, with 1279.3M citizens before now only 12.793M citizens' left. With 10 cities all citizens were expected to increase population with incentives given and guaranteed jobs provided it was a no brainer to have at least one.

However Aadi was born with low potential and to two people only married to make obtaining government aide easier, meaning when his parents learned of the chance to increase ones aide and standing by producing a high potential child, the only reason he wasn't thrown away or given to an orphanage was because his parents would lose right to government aide if they chose to give up a child, this was done to prevent increase in already full orphanages.

As his parents relied solely on government aide to live his childhood was spent with nothing but taking care of the kids while his parents kept having more, basic education that the government made all go to starting at age 5. Learning how to fight, cook, clean, and grow food from his afternoon work at the farms made by the government at the age of 5 meant he had no childhood and little actual joy beyond an increasing tighter home. As they lived in a three bedroom apartment, nutrient packs provided for free by government and 2 pajama sets, 5 summer outfits, 5 winter outfits, and 5 workout outfits that would be given to his little sibling when he out grew them, and new one provided by the government.

The only upside being his parents can't touch his paychecks given by the government, the only downside was neither could he until he was fifteen and legally considered no longer under any other person but himself and lost government aide. As life continued on he began to plan for when he would leave his parents and start life on his own as schooling was only guaranteed to those below the age of fifteen. Unknown to him his life was going to take a horrifying turn when he turned ten.
