Chapter 37: Meeting Mildred

“What’s happening to you now?” Elliot asked in surprise. “You’re wasting your whole ice cream,” he added in concern.

Elliot then turned around to see what Emile was staring at.

“Oh, that’s the lady that you were inquiring about,” he commented. “Where did you see that painting of hers?” he asked.

Emile just continued to stare at the woman.

“Where did she come from?” he asked himself inwardly. “Does she live somewhere nearby or did she come from the painting in my bedroom?” he wondered to himself.

“Dude, you shouldn’t stare at a married woman like that,” Elliot remarked and this brought Emile back to his immediate surroundings.

“She’s unusual, that’s all,” Emile responded in a low tone of voice.

“Why are you so interested in her?” Elliot asked.

“I just wonder who she is because I came across her painting,” Emile lied.

“Where did you see it?” Elliot asked with an intrigued look on face.
