Chapter 38: Confiding in Elliot

Julietta glanced at Raine, then at the door. How did she get away before Elliot embarrassed her in front of her friends?

“What the heck,” she thought next. “Let me go and speak to him. Maybe he will listen to some sense.”

Julietta walked down the small aisle between the tables at a brisk pace, bearing down on Elliot.

“What are you doing here?” she asked as soon as she reached his table.

“Wow!” Elliot exclaimed. “That’s the second time that someone asks me a question like that tonight,” he remarked with an injured look on his face.

“What are you talking about?” Julietta asked impatiently as she sat down opposite him, facing the doorway.

“You see, Sheila told me that you guys were here and so I came to check up on you, but then I found Emile here, already doing the same thing,” he explained.

“Wait, Sheila told you that we were here?” Julietta asked in confusion.

“Yes, she just wanted to keep me updated on your movements tonight,” Elliot replied.
